Original Coupon Deal
I know most prefer AMD but if you are on the Intel train, this seems to be very well priced at the moment for eBay plus members… (I know: I only renewed a while ago when I got a $50 voucher, otherwise wouldn't have done it).

Cheapest I could find are all over $400 for this board. The MSI Tomahawk you can get for around $311, but it's much lower spec. MSI Z490 Gaming Edge is also a good Z490 option for $287.20 (eBay Plus) with PLUSBF20.

  • I've been away from intel vs and for a while. Why is the AMD better? last time I built intel was king.

    • +5

Think of all the reasons why intel was king and apply that to AMD instead.

    • For previous gen, anything except for gaming was AMD.

Current gen, AMD wins in both single and multi-core, no comparison (Except for a 10900kf deal on here recently which surprisingly has little interest) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/582534

      • So Amd4 Gen generally beats Intel 1200. Cool thanks

        • Also has pcie4 if you need. But none of them come with integrated graphics. There’s a few factors that come into play depending on your needs. Apparently the budget gaming option now is a 10400, not sure which model, but is because of 5600x price vs price discount on the intel.

    • Fortunately the market is finally balanced for now. So you cannot go wrong with AMD anymore in performance and price point.

  • How does this compare against the Aorus line from Gigabyte?

  • +1

I got the GIGABYTE Z490 AORUS Elite Ac and are happy with it. I overclock a 10700k to 5Ghz, VRMs are never over 40 degrees. But for the same price as the MSI now I would have probably gone with the MSI as the Aorus series had not a great reputation in the past… However, with the one I have I don't see why not to choose the Aorus if cheaper. So far I think its perfect.
