Good find. No need to juggle around with 15% TCN cards. Don't forget 4% cashback from your favourite cashback site.

Amazing price!! You should also be able to price match OW

    • +1

Assuming it still in stock when Officeworks opens.

    • Not much stock around though

    • thanks mate for this tip. Got one from OW.

  • I'm still working out if it's worthwhile buying, I've sold previous tablets because I never used them enough

    • +1

Same for the selling of unused tablets.

    • +1

I've sold previous tablets because I never used them enough

      Some people never learn lmao

      • Nice to have sure but I don't need it

  • +3

Not sure if I need this but damn good price. So tempting.

  • +1

How many tablets and smartphones at home do you ACTUALLY need?

  • +1

    $315.84 after cash back

  • Great price.
I didn't like the screen but then again I'm used to pixelbook so perhaps unfair comparison.

Just got 329 gift card via Macquarie Bank app for 319, then added to cart after shopback app. Should cost around $308 after cashback.

Had the Galaxy Tab A10.1, very slow, happy to swap it for this.

  • Got one for my son. Finally will stop using my computer.

  • +1

    This or the S6 Lite?

  • Can you dev on this? Install an IDE, write some low weight JS? Can you do anything more than with a tablet?

  • +5

Thanks op finally can afford having a dedicated media solution for the toilet

    • Perfect place to use both the hands to operate the device 😆

      • Makes note not to touch media solution device when visiting Jimothy

  • Used the $10 APPONLY10 code with cashback. Can someone recommend a good+cheap USB C expansion dongle so I can actually plug stuff into this?

    • Mate, if you used that code, chance is it won't get tracked for Cashback. Happened to me a couple of months ago.
So remember to lodge a claim 7 days from now and deal with the Cashback site directly.

      • Hey, thanks for the heads up! I contacted them already, and will probably claim missing cashback in 7 days if no signs. Can I ask, did you end up getting the CashBack when you claimed? Or do you have to refund the promo code first?

        • +1

They told me since I was using a promo code which didn't come from them, Amazon didn't award the sales to them (aka no commission to be passed on to consumers). Technically, there would be no cash back at all. However, they chose to "dip in their pockets" and offer the cash back as a gesture of goodwill. I suppose the outcome would depend on you dealing directly with them then.
          Hope this helps.

          • @motui302: Hey just an update that they said my CashBack is tracking now! If it goes through, that would make the deal $307!

  • How usable is this without a google account? Is it true you cant even save browsing history on reboot? Im guessing theres no linux distros that run properly on this (even though chrome os is just linux).

    • You can only use it in guest mode without a google account, so i'd say if you don't want a google account, then this is not for you.

      • You wouldnt happen to know if it's possible to install linux on these specific models would you? Id imagine it would run alright with a less gimped distro like arch or cent.

  • What happens if something goes wrong with the tablet? Is this a Lenovo Warranty or an Amazon Warranty? I've never bought electronics off Amazon before. Thanks in advance.

    • You have the option of dealing with either company, it says full Australian warranty if you want repair etc. When you contact Amazon over a fault they just give you a return paid postage slip and refund you on receipt, they don't fix anything.

    • +1

Amazon takes care of that. My experience is that you mail it back and they will fix/replace it, they pay for postage.
Manufacture liability is also a thing if you want to go for Lenovo. But amazon is better for warranties IMO.

      • +1

        100% agree with Amazon warranty.

      • Especially with Prime

  • is it good for school use? school recommends asus c214 for year 7.

    • I'd say that this one is nicer than the c214. I guess school recommends that one since it's fairly rugged and will survive better in a school backpack.

You can get the Lenovo USI Pen from the education store for $41.30

    gone….. wait for more stock.

  • +3

If the screen was 12" it would be a deal, 10" barely gives room for anything.

Thank you op for this post. Went of officeworks , got one, price matched with Amazon based on this post, $312.55 .

    • +1

How did you get the price match if the stores arent open?

      • My local OW opens at 7am (Mel)

      • yup.. mine opens at 7 AM as well.

    • Considered that but thought the risk was too much to worry driving out for six bucks. Just took the cashrewards.

      • It's gone out of stock now. So no more price beat, I reckon?

        • Correct, hopefully for that price too…

        • right… no price match if out of stock.

  • +1

    Back in stock.

  • don't worry guys, it is even cheaper from BigW from tomorrow https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/583844

    • oh snap!

    • I would be absolutely amazed if it was actually that price.

  • Back in stock,delivery 10th dec

    I regret my decision lol

    • Wow so quick! Mine hasn't even shipped yet, bummer

      • I may have just got lucky with shipping this time.
        Hope you get it soon.

Also had mine arrived this arvo. Chromebook #3 in the household.

  • Something dodgy going on. Was meant to be delivered today by couriers please. 2 chrome books. Was marked out for delivery. Nothing arrived. Went and checked the status.
“ We apologize for the inconvenience.
Unfortunately, your package was not delivered because it was damaged. If you haven’t already received a refund, please contact us.”
Called Amazon and they offered refund, which I was not after. they are checking to see what happened. Will know tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

    • +1

ignore it. It seems to be an automated response when ordering from amazon. It happens to almost all my couriers please packages after i get a text message and amazon notification 'due for delivery today' but they do turn up undamaged in their next delivery cycle. You'll probably get it within the next couple days

  • Has anyone found that their Chromebook Duet randomly resets/freezes? Thinking of powerwashing.

    • Already!?

      • Bought it a couple of months ago… not sure what caused it to be unsteady though.

        • Ah ok. Bit worrying though.

    • Put it into recovery mode and see if that fixes it otherwise ask them to repair/replace/refund

  • OOS again

  • I bought surface pro 7 last night and saw this one came out

  • The latest messages prompted me to check amazon again and there were a couple in stock. Managed to get one. Thanks

  • Back to normal price and instock…

  • Anyone know of where to get cheap glass screen protectors for these?

I've done some searching and looks like I'll need to fork out $25+ for a glass one :(

    • Do you need one? I've had a similar model and its been fine.

      • Going to be for in-school use for a 10 year old (yr 4), so would like to be cautious and use a screen protector.

        • Ah I've broke laptops by dropping them can you get a case for it?
