    This is amazing deal.
Using Vodafone from last 1 month and network is pretty bad. Even with full 3G towers, Apple music streaming is pretty bad. Will be switching to Optus/Telstra soon.

Good for those who don't have issues with Vodafone network.

    • +2

So the offers good but service is pretty average?
      I'm a bit conflicted.

Ported out from boost and can say the vodafone network is not as good as it was last time i was with Kogan some 1 and a half years ago.

Will stick with Boost for now.

Good for families though who don't really need to travel rural

      • +1

It's been fine for me in Sydney, better than what I experienced with Optus.

      • +2

yeah i thought it was just me. yeah the vodafone network isn't as good lately.

      • +2

Used Vodafone postpaid for 2 year 2015 to 2017 in Melbourne and it was amazing. Never had a single issue. But using it today after 3 years here in Sydney, the network is pretty weak. Full signal strength on 3G but very slow at times. 4G only 1-2 towers and average speed.

Not sure what happened to Vodafone.

I mean this deal is good for people who are happy with Vodafone signals and service. Pretty cheap offer.

But for me, I won't use Vodafone after the 3 month Kogan deal expires.

        • i have been using Kogan mobile for as long as I remember and never had I issue with signal strength. over the span, I have moved from Inner West, Central Coast, South West (Sydney) & now rural areas (NSW). and my mobile is nothing fancy, it is approx. 6 years old technology so quite old.

    • Well for the love of Mike, don't switch to Optus then.

  • +1

Wow, incredible value! Both deals are insane.

  • +2

Great deal, only downside is Vodafone coverage outside of cities, as long as that's not an issue, would recommend.

  • Is there any international calls included?

    • Don't think so

      • You need to ay for an add-on for international calls. I believe that there are 3 add-ons.

    • Unlimited Plans do not include calls and SMS to international numbers, calls, SMS and data used when roaming, premium & pre-routed SMS, voice call diverts, video calls, use of the Vodafone network for commercial purposes or re-sale & any voice call, SMS or MMS that is re-routed by a third party and/or re-routed to an international destination or to a premium number or service.

  • +3

Well my search for a mobile plan is over :)

  • $160 for 100GB SMALL plan with $30 Kogan credit
    More here: https://www.kogan.com/au/shop/category/prepaid-plans/?facet-…

Edit: oh wait, this deal is BOGOF… Move along… Move along….

    • +1

For some reasons, at the bottom in your link above, it says make unlimited calls for 24 months. So is it 365 days or 24 months ?? If it’s 24 months then your deal is really good !

      • Is this deal exclusive for new customer?

        • +1

The deal in op is for both existing and new customers.
The 24 months in muncans link above is probably a typo on the website.

  • +3

Might need to note this as other prepaid cards normally have long expiry dates (like 12 months):

Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 15/01/2021. Activation must be made before the voucher expiry date.

    • Expires before my plan ends :(

      • +3

If your current one is prepaid, you can forgo the remaining time and activate the Kogan deal if there's not too much to lose…

      • Yep I'm losing 5 days and my gf is losing just over a month. Still worth it though.

  • Is this available to existing Kogan customers with an existing plan/number with them. I have two family members with 12 month plans expiring in the next month, so it would be good for them to be able to share this. Had a look at the website quickly and can't see anything about new customers only (but remember I probably had a "man" look)

    • -5

I think it’s only for new customers. If you move out and back in I don’t know if you’ll be considered new customer?

    • +10

      Yes:

~Valid for new and existing Kogan Mobile customers. Personal use only. Offer available on Kogan Mobile Prepaid LARGE and EXTRA LARGE FLEX 365 day plans purchased before 11:59pm AEDT 02/12/2020 unless sold out prior or extended. Not available for commercial or resale purposes. After purchasing a buy one get one free offer, customers will be sent two FLEX 365 day Kogan Mobile vouchers via email for their chosen plan. Vouchers expire at 11:59pm AEDT on 15/01/2021. Activation or recharge must be made before the voucher expiry date. Only one voucher can be used per activation or recharge. Vouchers do not stack. Vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offers. Vouchers are not transferable for cash.

      • Thanks matt30822. I eventually found it when I expanded the "plan info and terms". Great news for existing customers. I hope they do something similar around June so I can port back off Optus.

      • Thank you. We just extended with a 30day plan because there were no good annual plans. I had a feeling they would have some deals for black friday. Awesome!

    • +1

Like what Matt said above it looks like you can recharge an existing plan and they have changed the conditions on this black friday offer only:

      Black friday conditions:
"What happens after I purchase my voucher code?
After purchasing this product, you will be sent a unique Kogan Mobile vouchers by email within 24 hours and a Kogan Mobile SIM Starter Pack by post. If you are activating a new Kogan Mobile service, visit the activation centre to redeem a voucher. If you are already a Kogan Mobile customer, simply login to your account and use your voucher to recharge. Each voucher can be redeemed for a LARGE 365 Days FLEX Plan without any additional charge."

Existing Kogan 365 day plans conditions:
"What happens after I purchase my voucher code?
After purchasing this product, you will be sent a unique Kogan Mobile vouchers by email within 24 hours and a Kogan Mobile SIM Starter Pack by post. To activate your new Kogan Mobile service, visit the activation centre to redeem a voucher. Each voucher can be redeemed for a MEDIUM 365 Day Plan without any additional charge."

  • 30min too late … just moved away from Kogan

  • Does anyone know when this deal is likely to finish? I'd love to see black Friday deals of other providers buy don't want to risk missing out on this.

    • As per the Kogan email I received it finishes on the 2nd of December unless sold out prior.

  • Does the voucher have expire date?

    • 15/01/2021 as per OP's listing

  • Can the second plan be sold at gumtree/ebay?

    • +1

Why not? You could also sell on here

      • At a discount 😂

  • +3

I will never go with Vodafone again, their reception is atrocious outside of major cities (despite often having "4G", data is horribly flakey, calls are "ok").

Optus has been a huge improvement

    • Yeah we went up the coast recently and it was very patchy for data. We get great speeds at home though. Hopefully the TPG merger they beef up the spectrum & bandwidth.

      • +1

I think you’ll find that has more to do with tower saturation, I’ve had the worst experience with Telstra lately

        • Yeah generally so, though the areas where we had issues were definitely not saturation as they are not big busy areas. Relatively weak signal and very limited bandwidth (less than 1mbps 4G). I'm guessing it was a combination of distance from tower and only a small amount of low band spectrum allocated. Either that or the transmission was rat shit.

  • Is this for existing customers or new customers only??

    • Both, see another comment above.

      • Not sure why you got down voted, but here's a +1

  • A lot of high data plans going on sale .
Where the low data offers ?

  • d'oh! I bought a earlier deal to recharge at the end of year and still after one more plan for another phone. This would've suited perfectly at almost half the price!

  • +4

it is very good price but ever since doing sim hopping, it costs just $5-10 per month with heaps of choices and flexibility, hence it is really hard to justify over $100 per year mobile expense lol

    • +2

$30 per person for not having to shop around every month is worth it for most people I reckon. $15 per person if one of you has $30 cashback CommBank rewards.

      • +1

with all do respect, your numbers don't add up. where did you come with $30 per person and with $30 cashback Commbank rewards, each person now cost $15?

if i take the $355 BOGOF deal, each person will be paying $177.5 and that is per month of $14.80.
if i use Commbank rewards, the $355 BOGOF deal becomes $325 and each person is now paying $162.5 and that is per month of $13.54.

    • What do you use after the 3 months for $15 deal?

      • hop onto other on-sales prepaid pack/plan every now and then, it gives you the leverage of consumer power, truly can decide who can get your money :)

        • I just checked a couple of days before this deal popped up. I could not find any decent deal, like $15 for 3 months…

    • +1

i used to be a sim whore just like you in my younger days but you must admit, over the course it becomes more and more tiring to look for a good $5 per month deal. I agree the adrenaline is there to try finding the best deal (with that uncertainty whether you'll find any bargain at right cutover time) and at the end of the year, when you look back that you've only spent $60~$120 per annum, it is an achievement.

  • +1

Commomweal bank rewards (rewards credit cards) have spend $100 get $30 back on kogan till the 9th, to make this even better. Check the CommBank app

    • It is absolutely amazing with the Comm bank deal.

We just need to swallow the part that we are supporting Kogan….but everyone has their price.

    • where were you 10 min ago …. :( I just missed that

      • probably the time it took me to find when that actually expired.

maybe someone can put it in the main post.

  • +1

Wow, this is a seriously good deal.

  • +1

good deal but I am alone.

  • Keen to go halvsie on the 250gb plan

  • F$@*….. I just bought a year to recharge my existing plan last week :(

    • Right before blackfriday? Lesson learnt!

  • +1

Are these stakeable? My plan expires feb next year,

    • +1

      Do not think so
I checked last year and they were not.
You could buy and just port in jan before expires

  • Why not get the Telstra 80gb deal at jb with the $500 gift card when it next comes up? More data, not Vodafone, don't have to deal with Kogan? Also cheaper.

    • It's not really cheaper since this gives you 2 services. But yes that gives you more data and better coverage.

      • It's borderline. Close enough that it's not worth going with Kogan and Vodafone shudders.

        • +1

If you need 2 services, it's not borderline at all. This is great. But likewise if don't or you spend a lot of time out of metro i'd agree the Telstra deal would be worth the extra cost and is great deal in its own right.

    • +1

Been with Kogan mobile for 2 years and haven't had a single problem. $500 gift card is good, encouraged my friend to buy that plan but this is unarguably better purely value-wise.

      • We have been with them for so long.. 5yrs. so cheap! Great for budgeting and our plan just expired 1 week shy of black friday. We just paid for a 1mth plan. This is perfect for us as we need 2 plans.

Love Kogan! Always comes through with the best deals.

For Intl calls we use whatsapp or wechat but mostly just voice messaging.

  • Does anyone know can you activate this with a new number (temporary), but then 1 month later replace that number with one you have with another provider?

  • +3
    • This worked like a charm. Cheers mate

  • Does anyone know whether 13 and 1800 numbers are free on this plan?

  • +3

dont forget if youre a suncorp/aami customer you can get kogan gift cards for 6% discount…..brings it to ~$333 for xl

    • +2

Where do you pay using GC?

Edit: Figured it out - just go to your account and add the credits in first :) Then go to checkout and apply those credits.

      • +1

Yay more fun fun fun, I just did that, bought eGCs at 6% discount vi Suncorp, then redeemed for the mobile vouchers.

    • Does this make sense please? From Kogan website

CAN KOGAN.COM GIFT CARDS BE USED WITH KOGAN MOBILE?

Yes, Kogan.com Gift Cards can be redeemed for purchases made from Kogan.com, including our Kogan Mobile Prepaid Vouchers.

Please note that a Gift Card cannot be redeemed on a purchase or recharge made directly from the Kogan Mobile app or website.

      • +1

Exactly what it says. Gift cards work on kogan.com.au (and Kogan app) but not on koganmobile.com.au and the Kogan Mobile app.

        • Thanks. Twas four in the morning.

    • oh nice, does CTP with aami count me as a customer to benefit from the 6% discount?

      • sure does, log into your online account , register your policy and find your way to the lucky aami rewards bit.

  • Anyone in Newcastle want to comment on the Vodafone network around Newcastle

    • +2

I have been with Vodafone for 20 years and live in Newcastle and don't have any issues. Yeah it's not as fast as Telstra but it's more than quick enough. In the CBD I get about 30,mb/s and similar speeds in Lake Macquarie. When driving to Port Macquarie it can be pretty patchy but my daughter is able to watch ABC kids or Amazon Prime most of the way there.

      • I'm currently on Optus was getting 30 mb/s in the CBD today so pretty similar I guess

  • Anyone know if my existing Kogan 12 month contract doesnt end for another 3 months will i lose those 3 months if i activate it now? or would it add on top like ps plus?
    thanks

    • +2

You'll lose the 3 months. It'll reset and start from the day you activate it

      • thanks for confirming. I was pretty sure i lost a day last time but wasnt 100% sure

      • Ah I should have come here to read your comment. Just lost the last 3 weeks of my 3 months.

Ah well, still paying next to nothing for my phone plan.
