    • so you got it last night?

      • I ordered it yesterday morning about 8am

        • good man!

  • There were 2 in stock at time of posting.

  • You can still order it, eventhough it's marked out of stock!

    • is education portal available for universities students? I am in HP BYOD page and it asked me to search for the school, couldn't find my uni there

      • from what I understood, you just need a *.edu.au email, I signed up using mine today just before making the purchase and it worked for me. This is the link I used to sign up.

        • Can confirm teacher's email address won't work…

          • @db87: My teacher email works fine

            @eq.edu.au

            • @J6: It was an updated version, used my wife's older address that forwards to the new format and that worked. Too late for the deal though. :(

This deal is available on Employee Portal Program

    • is it same price?

      • Yes $1500

        • would you mind share the link, I seems not able to find it. thanks mate.

            • @airtel12: I just registered on the program, but it won't let me add to cart (at $1500) - so I take it the unit is out of stock for employee members?

Also - for anyone who has purchased from HP before - are they an Australian registered payment processor? Just wanted to know if they charge a foreign processing fee on the CC.

              • @apu: I ordered it in the morning…Currently now its showing as Out of stock, so i think gone from there as well

  • +3

I just contacted their support line. they said "orders shouldn't be cancelled, there is lots of stock?"

edit: rep just said "i do see there are incoming stocks so there is no need to worry".

    • so why stated to be OOS?

      • no clue. I think the rep is referring to that they have lots of stock coming in soon?

do HP normally let you order items which are OOS?

        • do HP normally let you order items which are OOS?

i have no clue, bro; never ordered anything from HP. even if this is back in stock, i am half triggered; just me being me.

          • @[Deactivated]: I ordered one. If it gets cancelled then understandable. But for 1500, it's a risk i'm willing to take.

            • @bigchunguss: give us an update, mate?

      • weird. Just got an order confirmation email…

        • Went through live chat and he/she straight up said no stock and wont get anymore; when they do, it'll be back to original price. anyways lucky you.

    • Just wondering how you contacted them? I tried over the phone and didn't really get anywhere with stock.

Also, what time did you place your order? Mine was at 7am and I still have no confirmation. Ta

      • +1

Contacted them via online live support. Placed my order at 8:40am (South Australia time) and got my confirmation at 8:55am.

        • Did how say how long until they post your item?

          • @videoman: no the email still said its out of stock and 14-28 days. They said they'll email with any update - just pretty generic stuff.

        • Thanks, that's awesome, lucky you, stock must be allocated differently across different states.

          • @giovannip: I wouldn't think thats the case. Did you end up getting a confirmation?

    • I had this information too, speaking with 'Angel' this morning on their helpline. I couldn't help myself and called ahead to see - if it was to be cancelled, I wanted verification ASAP so I didn't have to miss out with any other Ozbargains!

      • +1

I spoke with Angel tooo, was there a rooster clucking in the background,? Haha

  • how much would a system like this cost?

    • +9

      Currently $1500

    • PCPartPicker

      Around $2,000 for the components.

      • thanks! so $2,899 isn't a bargain at all!

        • if u log in through the student portal the system price is $1500. Thats why its a 'deal'

          • @bigchunguss: yep got that… just trying to see how much I'm saving by paying the $1500 compared to other stores

      • Copied the wrong link for PCPP. This is the correct link: PCPP.

Added a CPU fan too, so it's about $2,050 for components.

        • but its the 2080TI not the 3* series?

        • You only added 1 NVME drive. This deal comes with 2.

  • They must be clearing out stock of old cpus and gpus.

  • I'm logged into the HP Student Store and it's showing as $2899 for me.

    • go to the main link in the post. Down the bottom click HP student store, then click desktop deals and then its still showing as 1500.

I need to buy, can someone share their edu email?

    • +2

wonder why the neg? it was a genuine request to share the email address and not the password!

  • it is weird it shows OOS, but i still can checkout

    • Gone now. Can't checkout

  • Stupid question but can non students create edu email or are they using others accounts

    • Current or ex students

      • Dammit. No chance for me then. thanks for reply

  • can't even be added to cart now. fml

  • -3

Hi, if someone has ordered and don't want in Sydney, please let me know. Or otherwise, if someone can order one for me that would really appreciated. Can charge on my card or I can transfer money/ pay cash.

    thanks

    • +1

      It's long gone

    • It's goneeeee

FWIW - UNSW alumni addresses don't work.

HP Support fairly useless over Whatsapp - they said they can log in just fine (I am getting "This email is not allowed for this store" errors).

    🤷‍♂️

    • +1

      Alumni aren't students though…?

    • Because ex students aren't students.

  • It would be nice if we knew if it would be cancelled or not before tomorrow… when the Xiaomi 34" WQHD monitor and Dell S2721DGF go on sale

  • -1

Couldn't justify spending the 1.5k price tag even though it is definitely worth it.

Don't really use desktop and moving a lot, so would have been a waste tbh.

    • -1

      Resell it for $2000

      • +3

        moot point

Spoke to a post sales rep this morning via chat.
Made the order middle of the night.

"We are still confirming with the warehouse team on the stocks availability for this.
We will send you an email update for the status of the shipment of your order within 24 to 48 hours.
No It will not be cancelled.
We are still confirming the stocks with the warehouse team.
We will send you an email update for your shipment details."

    So yeh, hopefully pulls through.

    • Same answer for me. Still not really sure if it will go through or not despite the order confirmation email

      • +1

        why would you cancel it?

        • +1

I didn't try to cancel. I asked if it will be cancelled.

    • +1

You would think a well run company would link their online stock indicator to the stock in their warehouse. That way when you are our of stock you do not take orders. Instead let's take 7000 order then figure out if we can actually supply them while we sit on the everyone's money for several days

      • +1

Products purchased through this store are sold and fulfilled by Ingram Micro Pty Limited

  • 1.5 hour ago, gave me out of stock but with delivery between 14-28 days but I couldn't get the email registered. The time to get the email processed on the phone with the HP rep, it is confirmed out of stock now.

  • I saw the deal as soon as it's posted but apparently, Griffith University email isn't registered on new HP system. Spoke with support in the morning but unfortunately they are out of stock now. And the support recommend me a deal with worse specs (500GB NvMe and 2TB HDD) and almost triple the price instead. sigh

    • i mean if it counts for anything most of the people (myself included) ordered when there was no stock. We dont have any ETA or even know if our order/s will be cancelled. All we got was an email confirmation.

      • when left hanging like this, you can't really make a move on other gaming rig deals between Black Friday & Cyber Monday; if there's any.

        • There's probably comfort in knowing that you'd get your money back fairly easy either as a whole system or in parts if you were to end up with 2.

    • Some guy in the comments mentioned this wasn't much of a deal, and to get the Dell one instead.

      • +1

seriously? but why? i disagree; i think this deal is better than Dell's.

        • IMO I agree this deal is better than the Dell. GPU about on par, the 10th gen CPU on the Dell is better, however all other component in this is better (PSU, RAM, SSD). For $500 less, I think this is a bargain, considering the Dell is a great deal as it is.

          • @Bearboi: as much as the 1 year manufacturer's warranty offered, that 500W PSU is a concern. a gaming rig with 3070 is futureproofed to at least run for a minimum. 5 years to come.

        • 32gb ram, more vram than 3070, 2x1TB NVMe SSD, 750W platinum PSU and activated windows. Add a WiFi adapter and you would be set for at least 5 years with ray tracing + VR proof, with full access to Nvidia Enc and DLSS. All that for $1500. Can Dell beat this?

          • @Moonlight Flower: I think wifi is already included "Realtek 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2x2) Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® 4.2 combo".
Also HP seems to have better QC than Dell in general

          • @Moonlight Flower:

            Can Dell beat this?

no but why are you replying to my comment? we're on the same side

            • @[Deactivated]: Yeah but your opinion is a bit vague so I simply elaborate on why it is such a good deal.

              • @Moonlight Flower: ok thanks; it's just that you put question mark so I take it as a question to me.

  • +6

Just got shipping confirmation via text

    • when did you order?

      • 1:15 am

  • Can the ram be easily upgraded? Still have a couple ddr4 3600mhz sitting around from previous deals.

    • Yeah, motherboard has 4 slots. However this system has 2666MHz sticks so your 3600 sticks would run at the lower speed as well.

      • OK good to know. Was just going to remove the ones it comes with and add my own.

        • remove the ones it comes with

The $1500 question is, will it come?!?!

          • +1

@fastnet: Haha true, hopefully mine is - received a text saying its been shipped!

          • +2

@fastnet: Let's just hope so. I was late to the party and ordered at 8:08am.

            • @NachoCheese: Is this better than dell or techfast deal? bought one, but not sure about it after seen lots of dell, techfast comment
