  • So with an ETC of $414 + $319 for the iPad, this works out an overall cost of $733, being a $366 saving.

    • Sorry what's ETC mean?

      • Early Termination of Contract?..

    • +1

so wouldn't you still need to pay the first month before the ETC? So $414 + $319 + $69?

      • I believe you only pay a pro-rated amount on what you have actually used… can anyone confirm having exited within 1-month?

    • $349, instead of $319 ?

  • For iPad Air, only the 64gb grey is available at the moment according to their website

    • +1

Yes, that’s only one i can get today, out of stock of other models. And better check with your local store, as online stock level is not always correct during this busy week.

  • cant find the deal anymore on their website

  • +2

It stated that you have to repay percentage of the voucher you received on top on the ETC.

    month 1 - 100%
    month 6 - 50%
    month 12 - 1/12

    • If this is true…!!! People better be careful…

      • Exactly - please advise where this is stated as I cannot find it anywhere…

    • I'll have a look tomorrow in my t&C but I didn't see any of that mentioned.

    • Where's that stated? It's not mentioned in the T&Cs posted by GAMBOL

  • Don't see the iPad Pro on their website.
    Its it 2020 version?
$70 pm for 12 months is good, especially if you travel and need the data anyways.
    $750 discount is a bonus.

  • Sorry OP, I didn't get this part "… then pay $349 on recently gift card deal…"

Any link pointing to this information?

    • refer to coles this week special, 15%off gift card deal

  • Also I don't see this promotion on their website. Is this store specific?

  • This question might seem stupid but I’m assuming the sim could be used in my iPhone instead of the iPad?

    • Data plans don't come with call access. Think they've even stopped SMS on them now.

      • Ah of course. Thank you!

    • Yes but only for internet. Because the sim that comes with this deal is DATA ONLY SIM i.e. you cannot make actual phone calls through this sim even if you use it in iPhone.
It can be used as second sim given your first sim is e-sim.

  • is the phone plan strictly to new customer only? I am on telstra now.

    • +1

New service only, i am already telstra customer, can still sign a new number

  • Thanks OP! No stock of iPad Air 256gb anywhere, but I was able to sign up to the plan, get the voucher and put in an order for it. Just gotta until it comes in, but I can use the data in the meantime. Great timing!

    • BTW The guy at JB told me the deal ends Dec 1st

      • Thank you.

    • Any chance you can upload the T&Cs?

  • Does the sim come with a phone number at all?

  • Not sure if this is the same

But it shows the $69 plan with a ETC of $414

I am also just trying to get my head around this deal, as i need to get an ipad for a student next year.

So please correct me, but with the plan, you are signing up for a $69 * 12 Month plan. But you just ring up and cancel, and pay the Early termination of $414

    So in the end its
    iPad 64gb Cellular) $1,099 - Discount ($750)
    = I pay JB HI Fi $349
Then I cancel the Data plan and pay Telstra $414 (early termination)
    So Total = $349 + $414 = $763

So now there is also a chance for the 256gb version
    iPad 256gb Cellular) $1,329 - Discount ($750)
    = I pay JB HI Fi $549
Then I cancel the Data plan and pay Telstra $414 (early termination)
    So Total = $549 + $414 = $963

Then….. if you take into account the JB Discounted Gift Cards based on the $349 & $549 prices you get out of pocket
    iPad 64gb Cellular) = $711
    iPad 256gb Cellular) = $906

    Is this correct?

    • yes, and additional payment can use 15% off gift card from coles deal

      • Good luck finding stock of those cards.

  • just wanted to thank OP for posting this deal. Got my mum sorted with a new ipad air. Took an hour at JB but worthwhile in the end so thanks again!

    • Was there any hassle at JB doing this? I'm in literally the same boat for my Mum too - thanks!

      • credit check and a guy that wasn't 100% sure on the system but otherwise pretty straightforward

  • Am I allowed to get the non cellular version with this deal and still sign up for plan? Because I don’t really need the cellular part of it haha

    • +1

No, as there are a bunch of SKU's (product ID's) that the deal is valid for.

      • Oh well, I guess cellular version still cheaper with the deal

  • Sorry how does this work if I want a 12.9" 256gb iPad Pro ?

  • Is this deal available at all stores? I just asked at JB Parramatta and the staff there have not heard of this.

  • +1

    OK, word of warning :
    With this deal : https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/586230

It is linking to the JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys Mobile Broadband Plans details : https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0024/9803/5810/files/jb-au…

    In it, it mentions:

    Voucher

For new Telstra customers signing up to a mobile broadband plan, you may be eligible to receive a voucher to put towards
the purchase of goods from JB Hi-Fi or The Good Guys stores. It is not transferable or redeemable for cash (including any unused part). If you cancel, recontract or move to an ineligible plan then you will need to pay a Voucher Reimbursement Cancellation Fee pro-rated against the remaining months on your Plan, the maximum of which is set out in the table above. This is in addition to any Early Termination Charges set out in the above table and accessory payments.

So I am sure this is clearly made out when / if you sign for anything.
And I am sure they supplied you this when you signed up.

    • Had a read through all the documentation supplied and it's not mentioned anywhere. That said I wasn't planning on cancelling anyway so I'm fine with it 🙂

  • iPad doesn’t have 5G.

  • Thanks, I got the deal with iPad Air 246

  • Is it still available?
