I didn't realise that and it does seem unlikely. The other times they have run the $500 deal it had just been over the top of the $400 one though.

So my Telstra plan expires on the 1st of December, if I port away to another non-telstra provider, how long do I have to wait until I can port back in to get this deal (or a similar telstra/jb/tgg gift card deal). Thanks in advance.

Signed up at JB last weekend. $99 plan was reduced to $89 (+ a bonus 20GB of data) and I got $700 gift card upon sign up, that I used to pay for the phone up front.

These JB Telstra deals are getting worse every year (generally). Used to be $400GC on the $45 plan. Now by bumping it up to $59, they have managed to shave off $170 odd from the $400GC value…..
Still better than nothing but why are these deals getting smaller? They are obviously making enough money on even the $45 plan so why screw people more?
