  • How does it compare to this one OP? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/588319

  • Is it legal to use on the road?

    • Not in NSW

    • No and illegal to ride in vic unless in your yard I’m told

    • In QLD, it is.

    • FFS, not again.

    • I'll wait until they're legal to use in public places

  • So, it is not commuting scooter then.

      It is in qld

  • Ah ha this is a copy

This may be part of D Andrew’s Belt and Road project

Such a wasted opportunity, front wheel drive and no regenerative braking.

    • That's only up to 200W, this is 350W.

  • Id like an electric scooter like this but when I see them out and about they look, er "childish" if thats the word im looking for….. I think a bike would be better but these are Compact.

  • So how far does one of these go on a charge?

    • 25km

      • +1

give or take. lots of factors (surface/weight/hills/temperature/stop & starts/wind etc).
just note when voltage drops, so does the power. you'd usually see power reducing when battery is <30%.

to be sure u get the recommended range you'd have to be riding in eco mode most the time and not flooring it after every stop.

        • Thanks Samsta.

Wouldn't mind getting one for commuting to work. It's a 25km trip though and quite hilly.

Might wait until battery technology improves.

@shbshb: then you should consider the 40km range options. itll safely get you there.
you just need to consider the lifestyle and how well you can adapt to it.

Can you handle keeping up with the weather every day/week as these arent waterproof.
Can you deal with putting on and off PPE.
can you manage the battery? ie charging it when you need, keeping it <70% when in long term storage.
Can you manage looking after the tyres…not much to do other than keep them pumped up to its recommended values.
and the biggest, can you safely store it?

i have an e-skateboard and wife has a scooter. we both head down to the local shops for groceries, takeout and coffees its fun. but the scooter cannot be left unattended. i can wheel the skateboard into coles and in the malls. scooter can go into malls (walked in) but prob not into coles so someone has to sit outside.

eventually, there will come a time when these are legalised and businesses offer better security lockers to encourage more riders. just like the boom with cyclists going to the CBD. alot of new buildings have showers/change rooms and bike lockers.

            • @Samsta: Thanks Sam, that is good feedback.

I didn't realise they can't be used in rain, that's a bit of an issue for me.
