This is cheaper than the price 7 to 10 days ago when I bought two because they were cheap.

First-time poster, so go gentle if I have done something wrong. I hope this helps you guys out.

You will need to add any other coupon / extra x% off thingy, as I don't do that sort of thing so I won't know what to post.

Edit: so a T7 2TB Touch drive, (which has 1.2TB of data on it) is benching reads and writes on BlackMagic consistently between 850 - 900MB/s
The test rig used is my 2018 MacBook Pro. That's about as real-world testing as I can think of. Hope it helps you guys.

      Yes, I have done, but my MacBook Pro has a 2TB SSD in it, so mostly drag raw from the T7. I can't fit much on it though because a lot of the space is important files - hence the fingerprint reader.
      I have 13TB over a few Samsung T3(s), but never bothered with the T5.

      I have now bought 4 new T7(s) two 8 days ago and another two from this current deal. That should give you enough of a reason to buy into this deal. ;)
      Oh, and I have never had one of these Samsung portable SSDs fail on me, even after all this time.

    These work superbly with a jailbroken Switch, BTW. Some SSDs rather ungracefully disconnect from the Switch causing drive corruption (including the larger capacity drives in the T5 series), but the T7 series is rock-solid in my experience.

    Noob question, on my C drive I only have 250gb internal SSD which is almost full. How would I go about using this as my C Drive? Would I need to reinstall Windows and all the other programs I have on my C drive, resulting in possible loss of data?

      I don't know that Windows will boot from a USB drive.
      Jump on to https://www.staticice.com.au/ and find yourself a new hard-drive / SSD.

          Download CloneZilla and create a bootable USB of it. Buy a larger internal SSD and get some sort of SATA to USB adapter. Boot to the CloneZilla USB (usually by tapping F9 or similar when your computer is booting), select beginner mode, disk to local disk, current internal SSD as source, new internal SSD connected via USB as destination, yes to cloning the boot loader.

          Once complete, swap out

      You’re better off upgrading using an internal SSD / NVMe drive. I would definitely not recommend moving your C Drive onto an external storage device because of many reasons such as not even being able to boot from a USB Drive unless you use Rufus / WinToUsb, which requires a fresh installation of Windows - plus it’s much cheaper to purchase and relatively easy to install.

      Better off with upgrading internal drive than using this to boot from in every regards price, performance, reliability, accessibility etc. Just one thing to be aware though, there will be limitations to upgrading internal drives and memory based on how much your motherboard can support. I was thinking to upgrade my laptop's memory and disk but realized that both are at max capacity already.

      A long as you’re running windows 8 or 10 you can do this easily. Google “convert windows to go”. I have a couple of Windows to go with Windows 10 I use on MacBook, PC and across a number of machines interchangeably without fuss. I love having my setup on whatever hardware is handy and all I carry is a T5 drive.

      The T7 is always going to be slower than the standalone NVMe SSDs + enclosure. If you're after pure speed, you'll need to source your own storage components.

      I would think Samsung Pro NVMe (I have a 970 Pro fitted). Transfers to my Samsung 860 Pro ssd are fast but the NVME drive wins hands down when transferring to my Sammy T5 and my SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD.

      Do a google search for CrystalDiskMark test results for the drives you wish to compare.

    Does anyone know if these work with raspberry pi 400? Apparently you can boot and power SSDs drive with raspberry pi but uncertain if these Portable USB SSD require more power or the same as SATA internal SSD's - if i get this rather than SATA internal SSD once i get sick of the Pi i still have a external USB SSD

      The Samsung T7 is way overkill for use with a Raspberry Pi 400, which only has USB 3.0 ports (i.e. no USB 3.2). You're better off buying a cheaper SSD if you're going to be bottlenecked anyway.

      Different speed, the samsung use nvme so it can go up to 1000MB, the enclosure from the link use SATA, up to 550MB.

      Yep and it’s currently $9 cheaper than originally. That’s why this deal hasn’t marked as expired as the price keeps getting cheaper.

      Who would buy a T5 if the price of the T7 is dropping? I won’t.

        i didnt need a T7, could have done with a t5, but the price differences didnt justify going down….
