  • Awesome, now my friends can stop complaining about the lack of games on my phone! :D

  • hmm I haven't got an Android phone right now (waiting for the Nexus on a plan), anyone know of a way to buy these apps with my google account to get them later? I get this message when I try -
"There are no Android phones associated with this account. Please sign in with a different account."My dad does have a Galaxy S, would I be able to buy with his account and transfer them over later?Cheers anyone who can help me out

    • +2

Ask your dad to let you login/sign in to Google Market using your google account (so the phone will appear on your Google account). Then you can purchase the apps for later use. Your dad can then login with his account again.

      • great thanks, thought that would be the way to do it, just wasn't totally sure

        • Watch out though. The way it works… if you were to purchased the app. using a Web browser. It has the ability to push the appps. to your mobile. So:

          1. Please let your dad knows that he might be getting some apps. pushed to him.
          2. Ask him not to uninstall the app. too quickly (otherwise, it may be deemed as a refund request) - which means you will lose the app purchase.
        • great man, thanks again!

      • netsurfer, can you play Reckless Racing on your Liquid Metal?

  • How is swiftykey compare to swype?

    • +1

SwiftKey X ruleth the keyboard world

    • I rather Swype, but each to his own.
You can download the free version and try it out although for 10cents why bother.

    • it's pretty weak

    • Completely different. You do need to break in both of them before they get used to your vocab but once done, it's good. If you prefer pure speed, then Swype, but Swiftkey is better for prediction.

    • Depends on whether you are a swiper or a typer. Swype is good if you like to swipe on your phone, but if you like thumb type, SwiftKey would be the one to get.

      • +2

        Nailed it!
But once you Swype you never go bike?(Scottish accent)

      • Well I got swype on SGS2 already, I guess for 10 cent another keyboard is not bad as an alternative. :)

      • +1

        Folder or Scruncher.
        Swiper or Typer.

        A new generation is here.

        • ginger or maryanne.

          (more submissions welcomed)

        • -1

Ginger or Maryanne I'll bang them both

  • Anyone getting Google Wallet problems? I purchased 1 then I get errors saying the payment could not be processed, then it works for another app. Anyone know how to fix it? And there is sufficient money in my account.

    • I heard you purchase an app for say $0.99 your credit card bill will charge you extra eventhough you have no Transaction fees

      • The extra charge is probably preauthorisation which will go away after a few days.

    • There have been people suggesting that if you are purchasing apps too quickly (too close to a previous purchase), they are being rejected. Space out your purchases over a couple of mins and you should be fine!

      • Yeah I just called the Comm bank and the guy said its the system rejecting it because all it sees is 10c charges from Google multiple times in a short time period. He said just wait a few minutes between purchases

      • Yup, that happened to me this morning when I bought and downloaded them too fast!

  • Not sure what all the apps do, but for a $1, just buy all. :)

  • +1

Just read this on Ausdroid and came belting here to post this…. only 7 hours too late! LOL! Freekin' awesome bargain though!!

    • +2

upvote just being from Ausdroid :)

  • Thank you for this, what a bargain!

  • Wow wasn't that excited about the list, bit once reviewed I ended up getting like 7 of them! hard not to for 10 cents each…

  • A bit confused here. Can't buy the apps from the web store because it says my device is incompatible even though it's perfectly fine (HD2). But if I go into the market through my phone, all the apps are listed at full price.

How can I make the purchase? :s

    • I had the same issue. I'm assuming it's due to the fact the HD2 doesn't officially support Android. I had no trouble purchasing them through the market straight to my phone though.

      • And you got the promotional price? I don't know why mine isn't working :S

        • Yer they show up at full price in the market but when you click buy the transaction screen shows $0.10

  • zzzz .. cant find fieldrunner, even on the sale page. gg?

      • -1

no compaitible on my device. galaxy s. gg indeed.

        • I think it is because of the download size limit that is in Galaxy S. Are you using the latest version of Android Market? They might have lifted the limit there..

        • I see it but can't download it, all the others are fine though. Galaxy Nexus

  • does anyone know how to buy a app thats incompatible with the phone? i just want it to be on my account so when i upgrade my phone its there

    • Just buy from the Market's website?

      • Does that work? I have multiple Android devices.. and on some apps. it will only let me buy if I picked what Google thinks is a compatible device (even though I know it will work fine with my Liquid MT).

      • The website is what blocks you from making the purchase, because it checks to see what phone you have tied to your account. The market app on the phone itself does not do this. But when I look for the app on there, it is coming up with the full price instead of 10c :(

  • Thanks for the find!

  • I'm about to buy an Android phone but won't have it until next week. It appears there's no way to buy an app from Android Market without having the device yet. Is that correct? I know some folks here buy apps via iTunes without an iOS device yet, and wondering if that's possible with Android.

    • +2

If you can log into Android Market's website using a Google account, then you will just have to try signing in from an Android phone first, then log out and buy them from the website.

      • Okay, thanks. I'll try and find a friend with an Android device. I'm surrounded by iOS folks at the moment.

    • Borrow a friend's phone, log into you Google (Gmail) account and buy the lot. You don't have to install, you'll just buy the licenses and can install them any time via your Google account when you do buy an Android phone.

  • +1

Its not free, but I'll still bite. Beggars can't be choosers.

Awesome find OP. Lashed out big time and spent 80 cents……

Heads up people looking to download ADW Launcher!!

ADW EX normally runs about $3.32 and if you were thinking about rushing to the Android Market to download it right now — DON’T. Mr. Webs made mention today that his app will be one of Google’s features “10 cent apps” in the coming days, making ADW EX an even better value than it was before. Until then, you can check out the full list of changes in version 1.3.3.5 below.

    Source: http://phandroid.com/2011/12/06/adw-ex-updated-to-1-3-3-5-in…

    • -1

Go Launcher EX is better. why bother with ADW :S

      • To each their own - I personally use ADW as Go Launcher messes up my layouts when I choose to have more rows of icons. It doesn't have auto-fit for home screen items so some items overlap or have crappy spacing when I do this.

        No problem with ADW though!

  • Is there a way to buy apps for a friend?
or 'gift' an app to a freind?

    • +2

      You're buying a 10c gift? What a tightass! =P

      • +6

Hey, this is OzBargain, all tightasses here :)

but seriously, friend does not have access to a CC so needs me to buy for him.

  • +1

I like the little green robot. Android FTW.

  • Great deals. Shame you can't just add the lot to the cart and pay as one. Now I'm going to have a whole line of 10c transactions on my next bill…

EDIT: Yeah, and now my orders are on-hold, probably due to some security measure that locks down your card if it detects multiple minor transactions. Google should really get around to implementing a shopping cart.

  • It would cost Google money to sell apps at 10 cents as credit card transaction fee is more expensive than 10 cents.

    • +1

I'm sure they're taking a hit with this as they're probably reimbursing the devs. Still, it's a better 10 billionth app promotion than the Apple one when they just gave one person a $10,000 iTunes giftcard.

      • lol yea cause they are stingy annd rely on marketing and delaying products ontheir timeline. Slowly release incremental updates for profits. Its a scheme, you can't blame why there are anti-Apple out there. This bargain for celebration is heaps better than 1 person getting iTunes card.
It helps promote Apps and gain recognition

      • I didn't even think about this until you mentioned it. And it is so very true! It's a much better celebration when everyone is invited!

  • Having trouble ordering these :(

Called commonwealth and was told I can have 1 transaction of the same amount per minute from the same business (i.e. google), else it'll get declined.

Tried in a minute, and they're still being put on hold.

Pretty weird and disappointing. No one else is having issues?

  • For people trying to get these apps without a 'compatible device' one workaround which isn't ideal is to buy it off the Amazon App Store which is also matching the Android market deal with 10c for these apps. No check on device compatibility

    • Is it possible to buy from the Amazon App Sore with an Australian credit card?

      (Last I checked it wasn't possible…)

    • Amazon Appstore updates like shit. Only thing I use it for are the occasionally good daily free apps. Better off just finding a way to get these apps from Android's store.

  • I am thinking of buying all these on two accounts,,

1 for me already bought and 1 for my wife ( she's currently on Nokia) but I will buy these for when we get her an Android phone…

    • You can always use your account on her phone and install them then.

      • I did think about that…
I know I could but that would mean complications in email and other stuff, she would always have to log in to my account in the market to install new apps etc..

For the convenience and independence 1 $ for 10 apps is nothing..

buit I had a bit of a problem,
Google will not allow me to buy the apps on her account since she does not have an android phone yet?

Any one found a work around to how to buy a Market app without a phone ?
        THanks

        • Did anyone in Australia get this Android Market update ?

          http://www.mobileburn.com/news.jsp?Id=15809

The ability to have 2 android Market accounts on one device. This is the ideal solution to my problem…

        • +4

Android Market has been able to do multiple accounts for a while (at least on all my Gingerbread and Honeycomb devices). However multiple accounts is system-wide, i.e. not specific to Market.

So you need to add your wife's Google account to your phone, go to Market and choose your wife's account, buy those apps, and then remove her account from your phone. She would have those apps when she finally get her own Android phone.

      • Hi Scotty,
My market doesn't let me change usernames,

Any idea how to update the android market?

It is supposed to update automatically but it hasn't happened on mine,
Can you change accounts in your Android market ?

Also I could not reply to your post there , some pb with Ozbargain not allowing me to reply to a moderators post I think…

        • Have you tried hitting the option key whilst in the Market? then select my account.

        • Update to all guys ,
if you randroid market does not give you the option to change accounts your android market needs to be upgraded.

Download the latest Market Apk from here
          http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/11/01/download-android-mar…

and enjoy with the latest Android market Apk, it is beautiful with multiple accounts and has much much more .

          update only on wifi etc..

  • +1
    • Good deal.
    • Android market needs a shopping cart, not lots of 10c transactions.
    • The refund time for Android market is way too short. 15 minutes is not enough time to try anything, especially when you just bought multiple things in a batch. Make it an hour at least. I don't care about the 10c, but it makes me a more hesitant to purchase anything that costs non-trivial amounts in future. From a customer-focus perspective, it's best to remove as many barriers to/concerns with purchase as possible.
    • +2

Yes it used to be 24 hours, which is crazy by itself, as people can finish a full blown game within a day and then request for refund. 15 minutes refund policy is actually quite sensible — comparing to the hops you need to jump through to request a refund from iTunes AppStore.

    • +1

They should introduce a credit system. Topping it up like Android Market account with Google account linked to it. Top up via Paypal, Bpay or CC

    • I agree on all of the above points. You're best off to test each app immediately after you purchase it to ensure that it works on your phone, purely as a technical test. You won't really ascertain whether you like the game or not after only 15 minutes of playing though. Google Market has many quirks and kinks in the system, that's for sure.

  • Android market needs a shopping cart. Also anyone getting declined credit card? Got 2 of the items then suddenly declined. Enough money on card. Any ideas?

    • As discussed on page 1, You have to wait between each purchase.

  • Nice bargain got 2 great apps. Swiftkey X and Paper Camera!

Who's got the list coming week? I've never bought anything on Android until now.

    They should make apps cheaper.

Anywayz, Congrats to Google Android. Long live!

You will be beat Apple and iOS!

Thanks OP and I'm enjoying Android even more now

  • Damnit it to Helen Back!

Guys, I am an Android noob (literally 2 days usage) and I am getting errors when I go to purchase these apps (free apps are fine). Do I have to add a CC to my gmail account that is associated with the phone?

I assumed I could just click "buy" and it would as for CC details, but I am getting "An error occurred while creating your order" for all the apps when I try to buy on my phone. When I try to buy on my computer it just shows a loading screen forever.

I'll be honest, my first two days with Android have been thoroughly underwhelming :(

    • It should prompt you to supply these payment details during checkout screen.

      • Doesn't even get to that point (checkout screen). I can download free apps, but the paid apps freeze.

I have a feeling it is because I am using a personal account that uses gmail (ie, [email protected], using gmail as my mail app)

I am going to try adding "regular" gmail account and seeing if that works.

        • Apparently the first gmail account you use to sign up is your "main one". I have spent hours trying to troubleshoot this and there seems to be a lot of similar problems with a myriad of different causes and fixes.

Ahhh fuggit, I only bought a cheap 'droid phone on prepaid to tide me over until iPhone 5. Facebook, gmail and web surfing will do me fine until then.

        • It would be recommended to make a new Gmail account purely for this purpose i.e. buy apps off the Google marketplace. Or use your existing Google mail account and sign into the app market from there and manually add CC details if necessary(before checkout). I hate it when these systems don't work properly.

I think you answered your own question, but I'm no expert :p

        • @wolfenator87 (can't reply below for some reason). Thanks for the reply. There does seem to be issues with the new migration of Google Apps and God knows what else.

          Edit: Working!

I had to enter my control panel for my domain and enable Google Checkout under the User Settings.

          Sheesh!

  • Omg… Still can't purchase with my mastercard.

Now im feeling tempted to go out and get a prepaid card just for this deal.

    • I'm using a mastercard. I wonder why it doesn't work?

  • I can't wait for tomorrow's haul of great apps!

Some of today's apps reviews :

#Minecraft# : Still learning what the hell this is all about, that game has absolutely no instructions or help and I'm so lost running around a pixelated world like a noob. I do love the unique pixelated 3d graphics style. Having PS1-era graphics on my phone is a real treat for an old gamer like me

#Papercam# : A great novelty app with heaps of potential fun to be had. I like the fact that you can both manipulate existing images in your gallery and do it through the camera lens on-the-fly. I feel inspired to make my own pseudo-psychedelic artwork or funny comic strip. Nice selection of filter effects included. Sure, you can do this in Photoshop but the simplicity and speed of operation provides for some magnificent results that you can quickly share with friends.

    • man you gotta try HDR++, if that goes on sale…lets just say the App Store might get ozbargained

      HDR photography is simply amazing

  • +4

Is it just me or can I see some other apps going for 10c? Like Fruit Ninja, Flick Golf, Beautiful Widgets to name a few.

    • I just bought the AirSync part of DoubleTwist for 10c!

      • +2

You have gotta be kidding me…. Just paid $5 for Airsync not a week ago. Oh well, that's life. The day you buy a Steam game for 75% off, it'll become Free To Play.

        • Yeah, I know how you feel, I bought SwiftKey X only a week ago. Granted it was on sale (1/2 price) but that's no 10c.

    • Yep! I was browsing the Top Paid section and saw those as well. I believe that they are the ones for tomorrow. Bought them just then anyway.

    • +2

Nicee. Others for 10c are Star Chart, Christmas HD, NFL Rivals and Read It Later Pro

      • +2

        Also saw Reckless Racing.
