You can download/install them onto your other devices. If the app. is compatible with all your devices, you can install it on all the devices.

    • +2

Does anyone read the comments nowadays. It's been asked like 5 times already.

      • Just too long, 5-6 pages long of comments to go through!

        • +3

I've read all the comments though :)

OzBargain is more enjoyable to read than some crap newspapers put out these days.

The app list is getting worse on Day 5! Only Pano is worth it!

    • +1

Really? The excellent Age of Zombies and Apparatus aren't worth it?

So you think the only app that's decent is Pano, a panorama app, despite the function being bundled into Android's default camera app from ICS onwards?

I couldn't stop playing gamedev last night. Started at midnight, right before bed as I had to be up for work at 5.30….. Didn't stop playing until 4am. Too addictive! Amazing game.

    • +2

I'm beginning to resent this game. I did exactly the same thing on my iPhone when I picked it up and now I'm trying to win the Best Game trophy… again.

      • +1

I got addicted too, i think it's because when you finish a game, you start another one, meanwhile, you wait for the results in sales, there's no logical point to save and put it down even though you can save anytime.

It's a good simple game, but would be a lot better with some simple optimisation, like using the whole screen rather than having that little box which you scroll at the bottom.

        • My fiscal balance went into the red a few times but I was able to do a couple of quick contract jobs to build up my coffers again. For a while I thought it was game over and restart!

    • So true

was playing whilst watching the time tick by

      2 hours gone

    • +1

It certainly has the right formula of a winning mobile game - simple, accessible and addictive.

  • So… is this the new Ozbargain record? 565 positive votes and counting.

    • +1

Yeah it is, the next closest one was a Telstra deal (of all things!!), I think it was the free calls to Japan after the Earthquakes etc.
This one has now beaten it and will take some beating I think. Imagine if it was FREE apps for 10 days, ie negating the requirement to associate a credit card with a google account. Until this deal I had held off doing it and I think there are probably others who have resisted purchasing apps due to this requirement. Kinda annoying that there is still no paypal option.

  • how do you get sims 3 on a phone in Aus?
    says its incompatible in Australia

    • If you're looking at it from the desktop site, try it from your phone. It lets me buy it on my phone but not market.android.com

    • Says imcompatible with my tablet.

  • +2

GameDev is awesome. Should be illegal not to follow it up with 10c on other kairosoft games.

    • -5

      Too addictive and time consuming.

      • +4

You are the most negative person I've come across in a long time, it's actually almost impressive.

        • +1

I am positively addicted to it. After a bit of trial and error I am finding what works best. Do you opt for specialist characters or general "jack of all trades" types? The only thing I don't like abut GameDev is that your assigned role staff member complains and mopes when I make him/her be involved in two or more consecutive projects in the same job role/capacity. It's like "I pay you to make my graphics, so stop whining and get on with it already!"

        • +1

          @wolfenator

Specialists. Keep 2 coders at all times, plus at least 1 (better 2) for each criteria and rotate them between games so they don't suffer from decreased motivation. To max out, use the career change manuals and level every character's careers to 5 + blow $$$ 'training them'. Very expensive and time-consuming but the level ups carry through careers, you'll wind up with characters with 700+ points in a particular stat.

  • great share

  • Hey thanks for updating the post! I have only just gotten back to the city after going out to the suburbs for a friend's wedding and the reception there was wonky so I couldn't update the post!

    • +7

well if you're so smart, could you please explain your method of freebies? remember they must be legit and not lite or limited versions.

geez. The internet is full of trolls (at least i think this guys is)

      • +1

And just for a bit of info , did you know that many pirated apps either don't work outright or fail to load because they aren't supported/updated by the devs?

    • +4

I'm sure you can get anything for 'free' too, if you had the morals of a sewer rat.

    • +7

The right thing to do is buy the apps. If you want Android to get more quality apps, you should support the developers. 10 cents is just a formality. It is pretty much free.

In case you're wondering why Google don't just make them free for a day. It is the way the market works. Once an app becomes free, it cannot later become a paid app. So, to make things easier, lower each one to 10 cents for a day (they do have to cover credit card surcharge cost). Google and the developers are pretty much giving you their apps for free. However, personally, I reckon Google should change the rule.

Last but not least, the effort the original poster and the mod(s) put in to keep this deal up to date, making it even more deserving to be the new #1 OZBargain deal of all time.

      • android market is faster and more reliable than waiting on crackers, so when an app is good you should buy it!! (especially when it's 10c for crying out loud).

With some apps (including the ridiculously expensive ones), my morality is of course a little more flexible… but I support devs that deserve it!

  • My only purchase today was Sims 3. I must say it is quite an ambitious concept for a mobile game, hope it lives up to my expectations. C'mon guys, support poor old EA and buy it!

    • I did! Haven't tried it yet though…. Will report results in the morning.

    • +1

Support EA? After reading about them making you re-buy apps if you want to reinstall them? Then I read about some guy getting his PC game license banned after being critical of them on their message boards. I think EA should be boycotted, not supported.

  • I'm still waiting for fieldrunner HD as I was late when I found this topic!!
    Thanks!!

Great Little War Game is back down to 10c again.

    Others found:
    Edmondo Sports Tracker Pro

      • Only works on some phones :(
I was hoping I can get that for SGS2, but doesn't support!

Ah wells, goes back to Game Story =P

  • +4

    Also found:
    Captain America
    Raging Thunder
    Jenga

This promotion from Google is genius. The difference between free and 10 cents is very important. Android users are notoriously bad at buying apps - this forces people to set up their credit cards and hopefully encourages them to continue to buy apps after the promotion is over. This is critical to the future health of the Android ecosystem.

    • +6

It's not that Android users are cheap, it's just that Android is filled with free versions or alternatives. I used iOS/Android for primary/secondary phones respectively for 2 years and while I've sunk maybe a couple hundred dollars on iOS, I've never had to buy a single Android app till last week.

If you want GPS Navigation on iOS you have to purchase either TomTom or Metroview. On Android, Google Maps Navigation is superior to either and free. The same goes for ad-supported stuff like Angry Birds that are free on Android while being a buck or two on iOS.

It's not that Android users are hesitant to punch in CC numbers, they're just already spoilt with choice, hence paid apps have to justify their cost, moreso than on iPhone.

    • +2

Yeah, I've already spent $1-2 that I otherwise wouldn't have spent. :-/ And almost out of space on my phone. :-(

  • More apparently incompatible games! At least let me try to run them!

  • -2

You guys think that apple will do something same or similar for iPhone apps? Cause it ai t fair lol

    • +1

They did. For their 10 billionth celebration they gave one person a $10,000 giftcard. That person wasn't you.

  • I think it's time to introduce some non-Gaming apps! I don't play any game (well other than Game Dev Story).

  • +1

The "10 Days of Offers" seems to be getting less exciting every day.

    • Agreed, they are repeating a few of the the same apps multiple times. I don't know if this is a "back by popular demand" motive or simply because they have run out of developers who are willing to release their apps for a measly 10c and therefore have to recycle a few of the old deals and hope no one notices.

      • Could it be Google pays the difference?

  • Well today I nabbed Sim City. What a deep strategy game and excellent port of Simcity 3000. Hope 3.5" is enough screen size to play it comfortably as I think it is optimised for tablets. So much for 'boycotting' EA, but I can't resist a quality title at this price and it wouldn't have much on affect their bottom line.

Backstab & CapAmerica both have excellent graphics but they are incompatible :( I'm thinking very high end phone & GPU to run them because my phone is no sleuth(Acer LM).

  • +1

Looks as if they could only scrounge up nine apps today? Not a good omen for the remaining 4 days!

  • Hmm day 5 not working for me. They are all coming up at > 10c

    • +2

Thats cos it is day 6.

    • yar, needs to be updated. Nano is slacking off lately jokes.

      • yeah - these new apps must have been up for like, at least 30 min already!!!

      • Sorry, I was pretty busy today too. But have updated the post! Sorry dzhay!

  • but seriously, I have just got a new Samsung Galaxy s 2, and it annoys me that there are a few games that will run on my Galaxy S 1, but not on the S2 !!!

Anyone else find/get annoyed/discovered/found a solution to this?

    • Yup I'm annoyed by it too. Incredible S can run Sim City Deluxe and Need for Shift but not SGS2..

  • Is there a reason my android market only comes up with 6 of the 10 apps for today? Backstab for example is not included.. Galaxy Note btw

    • my understadning is that Android market is determinging that 3 of the 9 offerings are note compatible with your listed phone.

When I access Android Market on my Galaxy S2, I also only get 6 offerings. When I access from my PC, I get all 9, but asterisks next to three. I have a Galaxy S2, Galaxy S1, and a Optus (ZTE) My Tab, and a couple of the games (simcity and captain America for instance) are listed as being compatible with the ZTE but not the Galazy S2 - go figure!!

      • There are Samsung driver issues with a few games.
Age of Zombies, for example, have a note up about this. Say they are "working on it".

        • So basically I cannot even purchase the app now and just wait for a possible update.. I tried bying it off my desktop computer but when I sign in to android market it knows my phone model and doesn't allow me to buy it saying its incompatible.

        • Age of Zombies works fine on my SGS2. I've also finished the game too..

  • It's strange how all these specials never appear properly as 10c on my HTC Desire HD. Maybe because the market is the older version and it refuses to update.

It's easy to purchase apps on the computer though, so I guess I'm fine with that.

Hopefully they release one more app to make 10 later today! Sort of disappointing they are repeating a few apps. Do you think they have 9 only today, because they had 11 the day they repeated paper camera? Maybe developers are pulling out of this sale at the last minute!

    • There are already 10 today - 2 repeats, and 1 restricted to North America (and that doesn't include any device specific restrictions so your phone market might show even less).

  • For what reason would NFS SHIFT not have worked on my Galaxy s2?

    That was annoying.

    • +2

Not as good as your $50 iPad 2, right?

    • Could you show me where I could legally get adw launcher ex for free? Trolls gonna troll.

    • +3

Plenty of these apps have never been offered free elsewhere… Unless of course you are talking about through illegitimate means, and then technically EVERYTHING ever posted on OzBargain is free if you are willing to steal it.

Maybe you would find yourself more comfortable at www.OzThief.com.au (or anywhere else other than here)?

      • +2

Aww, that's not a real site. Could've been interesting!

        • -1

Yes, would have been. With dvsbastard the mod!

      • -4

Working on assumptions again, are we?
Good to know you have the whole knowledge of the net in your head. Go and look and you will find - legally.
By the way, I am sure you have no downloaded music/movies or burned CDs at home, right?
See Copyright Act 1968 section 36 to 39B (just for your information).

        • Where?

  • Not too impressed by today's selection (only compared to previous days of course! :P)

    • Me neither. I haven't bought any in the last two days. I got 15 of them in the first few days. Hopefully they'll have some more good ones coming up… useful ones, and not so many games would be better for me.

  • Is it just because I'm on Norfolk Island, or is the ASUS Transformer not compatible with a lot of these apps?

Did anyone here who owns one manage to get great little war game to work for them? Or Sim City? Or Asphalt 6?

    Thanks!

    • I cannot get Asphalt 6 to work on my Galaxy S2, but I CAN download it for free (full version) from the Samsung Apps application.

      • Asphalt 6 works on my SGS2. I got the one on the 10 cents offer.

      • I downloaded mine from Samsung app store ages ago for fwee..
Can I have the Ozbragainer of the year award 10c suckers!

        • I see what you did there …

  • Seems like there are only 7 offerings today, and they have changed the splash title banner up the top of the marketplace and are no longer calling it 10 apps per day for 10 days…

    • +2

maybe they have toned it down because of all the damn ozbargainers

    • as per above post by shmahoo:
my understadning is that Android market is determinging that 3 of the 9 offerings are not compatible with your listed phone.

      • I think that one depends on your phone. On an Incredible S running on MIUI I could see 9 apps. On a SGS2, just 7..

        • +5

Oh lame! My SGS2 should be able to handle anything. Anyyyyyythiiiiiiiinggg!

        • My misus SGS2 should be able to handle anything. Anyyyyyythiiiiiiiinggg!

        • Yup it can run anything. But just in this case, some developers didn't bother updating their apps.

  • oh man… i really wanted Season Zen HD

  • +2

Tried to install jenga, says I don't have enough room when I 100% do, anyone else having this problem?

    • No, but this game's pretty cool lol.
Have you tried moving some stuff to your SD card? Maybe it's full on your phone but not on your SD card.

    • Yes, exact same problem. Emailed them about it. Have plenty of space on my Galaxy Tab in reality. I did have the same problem with the Can Knockdown 2 a couple of days ago. Didn't change anything, but tried again from the Market this morning and what do you know, it installed normally!
