Any of the higher models going to have deals posted?

    • Will work on it. Which model are you looking for?

      • +5

Any on the T20 mate? V10 or V11 would be good too!

      • +4

        V11, T20

Replacing a dying Dyson so slightly higher models would be good.

        Carpet head needed though…

        • Dyson do replacement batteries for less than the cost of this one.

          • +4

@This Guy: already replaced a battery.
Its definitely lost some power and the carpet head is trashed…

            • @SBOB: Damn.

How long did the carpet head last? Were you doing anything weird with it, or did it just fail over time?

              • +1

@This Guy: several years, its a DC58 so several generations old
Having it suck up girls hair and be somewhat abused, i think its had a decent run

            • +1

@SBOB: Dyson are plastic rubbish…the bloke selling these for $$$ is a genius!!!

              • +3

@tunzafun001: Lol that sounds like something people said in the 70s. Plastic does not equate to rubbish. What do you expect your vacuum to be made from? Concrete? Steel?

                • +1

@gimme: The gearing inside that drives the powerhead etc, yes, I'd expect at least some form of metal. They are plastic! In another post I pulled a couple of Dyson's apart and the plastic cogs had cracked apart (due to poor quality plastic being used). Literally shrunk and cracked. There's 'plastic' and there's 'cheap plastic'. Paying a premium for it, I don't get it. Somehow people believe a Dyson is great as it lasted 4 years! Kirby's made in the 80s are still going strong. In summary, I dont understand why people pay premium prices for 'disposable' vacuum cleaners. Look at the build, not the name. Ive started looking at alternatives for family members (ie look at how the filters work, how many, effort in cleaning, placement / restriction of the powerhead, suction power). Black and Decker is probably the worse I have seen (the filter is basically a chux cloth). The Dyson V7 was also a shocker.

        • -5

You're replacing a dying Dyson with this cheap imitation of a knock-off?

          • @frostman: An old worn our Dyson
Sure as hell not dropping $1k on a top of the line Dyson for the use of gets.

            • -3

              @SBOB: https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/dyson-v7-motorhead-cordless-v…

$497, V7 will leave this poor excuse of an imitation in the water…(extra $250)

              • +5

@frostman: Not based on comparisons I've seen of the two

              • @frostman: can you show us some reviews?

and are dyson the founders of cordless handheld vacuum or something? theres not that many diff ways you can make a handheld? LG, Samsung and numerous other cleaning brands have had them before dyson became popular…

                • -6

@astarman: FFS - you're going to start another one of this vapid debates similar to; show/prove to me me how Samsung phones are better than Xiaomi

Go do your research into the Dyson mechanics and how they achieved the turbine-based suction and come back to me with your silly knock-off when ready.
I'd rather use a broom and dustpan than these cheap knock-offs, the funnier thing is that they even use the same Model versions of the Dyson V9 in the hopes they scam people who think it's a Dyson.

              • @frostman: The V7 has around 30% less suction power and is a terrible build. I can't honestly comment on this brands build as I haven't pulled one apart. However, looking at the outer build placement, it looks ok. No way I'd pay the same amount for a V7, let alone more ??

                • -1

                  @tunzafun001:

I can't honestly comment on this brands build as I haven't pulled one apart.

Sorry you've pulled apart a Dyson and found defects, however you've looked at the 'outer build placement' of this knock-off and made a savvy decision?

FYI - Dyson manufactured the first Dual-Cyclone vacuum in 1993, the handheld Dyson (V6+) used the same engineering principle of Cyclonic Separation to achieve this, that's almost 30 years of innovation, 30!

So you mean to tell me this knock-off cheap-ass imitation (Dreame) has achieved a better product with less cost over 10% of the R&D of Dyson?

The mind boggles with the amount of minions in this forum.

                  • +1

@frostman: These photos show where the air is travelling/ exiting, where the filters are placed, type of flexible tubing used etc. So yes, I can make some judgement. But if it's an exact copy (where they simply glue a plastic cog to a metal shaft), then I'd leave it. Can't tell that level of detail.

Answer to your second question. They have obviously copied / ripped off the vortex concept..so no r&d required. Somehow they have achieved more suction (stats don't lie). Maybe it spins up faster and the battery has a shorter life. Maybe Dyson stupidly use the suction air to spin the power head (one model does this FFS and the restriction is rediculous). Don't know. All I know is the stats appear in the Dreame favour.

What I do know is Sir James was one of my idols and I was really disappointed to see what was inside the 2 units I pulled apart. One had the extraction hose sucking from one end of the powerhead … seriously!! There is no way he signed off on all these designs. However, he is smart enough to have a marketing team to still get them sold. The V7 has a restriction I think is really dumb and wouldn't buy one. Haven't seen the V8 onwards, so can't comment on them. Havent seen this in the flesh either, so couldn't say, but at least it's price point and stats seem better.

                  • @frostman: idk man, look at nokia, motorola and kodak? they were pretty innovative bakc in the dayz too

thank you to dyson for paving the way and having easily replicated tech?

v10 with carpet head included would be great!

        • +7

Seconded! Would love to see the v10 or v11 and carpet head!

        • Yes, please. V10 or V11 with carpet head!

      • +3

        V11 and/or T20.

      • V11 please

      • V10 with soft head please.

Like this expired deal would be good: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/583396

        :-)

        • Yep, that deal with both heads would be good.

          Though v11/t20 even better.

Still waiting for the carpet roller head at a reasonable price…

    V11 please op!

      wait for stock.

  • +1

    V11 with carpet as well

  • +1

The T20 sold out on your website quick :(

    • +6

How do they have stock when I ordered from indiegogo as one of the first ones and still haven't received mine :-(

      • +1

        canrelate/10

        • I'm so annoyed about it.. Especially since I paid extra for another battery and they can't even tell me when that will be shipped out.. I need the 2nd battery to get the house done in one go rather than waiting for it to recharge.. I have pets that shed.

          • +1

@kimba88: I feel you. First and last time I back anything on indiegogo lol. Oh well lesson learnt. I regret not purchasing the V11s promos Gearbite has run over the past few weeks :(. Hang in there though, our T20 should supposedly be here 'soon'

  • v11 with carpet head included would be great!

  • +6

Bought the combo last time. Initially was skeptical abt buying non dyson but this impressed me with cleaning. Recommended without second thought.

    • Yep it's amazing. Such a handy device.

      • To be frank I haven't used fluffy head yet, since I have robot in reading room. Never found the need to use it till now. May be in future

        • The hard floor one? It's useful for hard floors, most of the time you can use the carpet head but for stuff like rice, the carpet head tends to flick it around.

          • @theguyrules: Yeah, but like said my robot vacuum does the job nightly. Might be useful once I move to bigger home

            • @hopper: Can anyone help answer this question for me: when you press the button to vacuum do you need to hold the button down the whole time you're vacuuming or do you click it once to turn on and then once to turn off? Thanks!

  • +2

    This or V10 from Kogan?

    • I've the same question….

  • +4

+1 for a V11 discount with carpet head

  • Hmmm, one of the options in this deal or wait for a deal on the V11 with carpet head for a mainly (short pile) carpeted apartment?

  • Robot vacuum S5 max please OP

  • Finally these guys have got the post right. Taken the name Xiaomi off as it is not a Xiaomi. It's a Dreame.

I don't find the soft roller head useful at all. The carpet head is brilliant.
For wooden floor a soft head broom feom kmart works much better.

  • +1

Please do the V10 or V11 deals, I have been waiting for them.

    Thanks rep.

  • What's the code?

edit - thanks bought, missed the top

Researched this model V9 a lot and finally bought it 3 hours ago and just received an email to say that it has been shipped already and received tracking order number.
    Very impressed. Well done Gearbite.

    • What swayed you to go with this one rather than V10 or V11?

      • +1

Based on reviews and youtube clips this one does a great job all around. Bought it while waiting for V10 or V11 to come up on special and give this one to mum as she only has hard floor and tiles. Missed V11 two months ago but will be happy anyway.

  • OP, any deals on the robot vacuums?

  • $20 price increase from October

  • Any chance of a deal for the T20?

  • Can't ……. resist ………
    …..
    …… bought it.

Just came here to say (as the review 2 writer) that my husband and I still use the V9 at least weekly and it’s still going strong! And I love the carpet head for our medium pile carpetted bedrooms. We’ve been using the Dreame F9 more since we got that 3 months ago but the V9 is handy for a quick spot clean and for the car. Happy to answer questions people may have regarding the V9.

    • Hi.
Tiled house. Do I need to get the combo? Or just the carpet would do?
      TIA.

      • For tiled house a soft roller brush is better suited.

      • I like the soft head for the tiled and laminate floorboards in my home. I find it picks up the fine dust etc better than the carpet head. It probably depends how often you mop or if you sweep inside with a broom as well as vacuum. It does get dirty easily but can be hand washed to bring it back to the light grey colour. There’s a comment above that thinks the soft roller head is useless.

Thanks…bought one only after reading your review!! :) i have bought the carpet head version and dint buy the Soft head as we have carpet apartment and only kitchen and small balcony is tiled. i hope carpet head will be able to handle it!

If you can better Kogans V10 deal then I jump

    • I pre-ordered on kogan last week. If GB can include a carpet roller and do a good deal on the combo, I will cancel the preorder and buy from GB just because I have seen good reviews here about them.

      • +1

V10 for $250 looks to be good but I dont understand why Kogan V10 is not preferred? It doesn't include any carpet or soft roller?

        • +1

Correct. Can buy attachment for $80.

        • +1

I have tiles and carpet both and prefer both heads and kogan is only soft roller head. And I dont know anything about kogan service, but GB has a good history here about how they deal with product support as they are mostly into Xiaomi stuff.

  • +1

What does the V10 /11 have that the V9 doesn't?

Can't see the voltage of the V9 battery?

Lastly, what's better about the V9 vs a heap of other stick vacs out there..ie. this one from Kmart for $129?

https://www.kmart.com.au/product/cordless-stick-cleaner---wh… (I like how this has the container on top making it easier to get under couches etc).

    • Curious to the answer of this.

    • My mother has the Kmart one and it is JUNK do not buy one and do not compare it to the mighty Dreame V9

      • How old is the Kmart vac? The two current instore vacs are indeed rubbish (even though 1 has heaps of good reviews). There is a new version that hasn't hit our store yet. Just the visible primary metal cage filter is already a step in the right direction.

What's the voltage of the Dreame V9? I just can't buy one without physically seeing it in the flesh first. Bricks and mortar stores sell them?

        • kmart one was just bought.

Dreame V9 is 25.2 volts and mine says its 600watts (but this one states 400watts???)

Dreame V9 is very good looking well built vacuum cleaner and nicer looking than the dyson DC44 sitting in front of me with a dead battery.

          • @AMLagonda: Change the cells inside with an Aldi drill battery for $25.

            • @tunzafun001: Have you tried this @tunzafun001?

              • +1

@Kyx: Yep. They are just 18650 batteries in series.

                • @tunzafun001: Thanks! I ordered this. Not so worried now about batteries dying 👍

  • Also waiting for v10/11 deal

  • v10/v11 deal please

    • Why would dyson sue this company? Are there any dyson patents that dreame is violating?

  • Does the carpet head version comes with the small attachments i.e 2-in-1 Brush Vacuuming Head, Electric Bug Removal Head etc?

    • Yes. Come as standard.

  • Heh OP, we got ours in Sep 2019 and the battery is pretty much dead. They have been sold out for ages on your site. When will you get them back in stock? It's a great vacuum by the way.

    • Please send me Oz message, will happy to help.

  • Hi,
Are you selling that tile/hard floor head replacement? Thanks…
