You enjoying seeing people obsessively downvote tells me how fun your life is…

        Damn right

If you can easily resell the product on the open market for a higher price, then RRP is a bargain.

    • You commenting about RRP tells me how fun your life is which in turn has told you how fun my life is!

  • hope the ps5 goes in stock soon :(

    • +5

It will, and I’ll miss it by 5 minutes just like every other bloody time.

      • +1

        aye same

  • Kinda wish this was a PS5 instead but then I realize how big a PS5 is. I'll wait for a PS5 slim in a year or 2 and priced at $599 RRP on release.

    • +1

No, at least 3 years LOL

      • Still ok with 3 years as I did just get an Xbox Series X from Microsoft yesterday.

        • My PS5 fits in my entertainment unit, but my Series X doesn’t. When in the horizontal position, the Xbox is close to 2 inches taller than the PS5. No doubt the PS5 is the bigger of the two, but the Xbox is an awkward chunk of a cube. I’ve had to buy an additional cabinet to accomodate the new consoles, and it’s not because of the PS5.

  • +1

Hey guys let's talk about ps5

  • You eat you lose….

  • +2

I wonder when you will be able to buy one without it going out of stock within 5 minutes.

    • +2

fyi, The one yesterday from ms website lasted more than 3 hours.

    • +1

I'm thinking mid year, maybe by then, you will have at least SOME worthwhile game titles that were actually developed to play on the X series. Right now, I will just wait for all the hype to die down, and then walk in and buy from floor stock. My current XBox One works just fine. Besides, gives MS a lot more time to iron out any issues. I can wait.

    • Ring around various JB hi-fi stores and ask. That's what I did.. Called around, found a store with stock and grabbed it an hour later..

I had ps4 but now after release of PS5 am hesitating to buy ps5. For me the big reason is backwards compatibility. I have so many games those i still haven’t played on PS4 and now they’re not compatible with ps5. So many good games those i might wanna play but can’t, because they’re not compatible. So all that money spent on those games flushed into gutter unless you have ps4 and ps5. That’s why now am thinking about to switch to Xbox. But then comes “trophy hunting”. I spend lots of hours on games those i really loved and enjoyed and all that hard work will flushed in toilet if I switch to xbox.
Kind of Red pil or Blue pil situation.
Also, Xbox Game Pass is winning over psplus or psnow.

    • +6

You know PS5 is backwards compatible with PS4 right? 0_o

      • I heard it can play few not all. Just checked and its says 4000+ so most of them will be compatible. Guess i will go for PS5 and my trophies hunting wont go to waste.

        • +1

The only ones it can't play is like a few random obscure games which required some camera crap

        • It's the opposite, the PS5 is almost 100% backwards-compatible with all PS4 games.

    • -3

You know Xbox is crap right ?

      • You know console wars are for losers, right?

  • -8

Still can't understand why anyone would buy an Xbox. Its like buying a pc that looks like a shoebox, has no good exclusives and has a crap controller. Ppl really need to have some standards these days.

    • +5
      • It is quieter than most desktop PCs and PS5. Much less audible coil whine compared to PS5.
      • The controller. It goes the other way too. Can still use XBox One controllers.
      • Exclusives - not that many for PS5. And, they cost too much at the moment.
      • Can still get $1 for 3 months worth of GamePass Ultimate.
      • As if PS5s are easy to get now.
      • Quick Resume works well (even for external HDD).
      • No BS about digital version being different to physical version of the game.

Don't get me wrong, I have a PS5 too. But PS5 does have room for improvement. What's the deal with the NVMe SSD slot still disabled? Are Sony going to enable it soon or Sony has not tested it at all and we are a long way from having that enabled in the firmware. I want Quick Resume on PS5. Oh, and Naughty Dog not releasing 60fps patches for their PS4 games.

      Get both.

      • -3

Most of those things are non issues for e.g.
        - not sure why coil whine matters unless I plan on sitting with my head next to the console or if the sound fills up the room
        - All new releases are expensive and get cheaper with time, same with exclusives.
        - For a console this early in its life, current NVMe support doesnt matter esp since there are no compatible SSDs for it in the market and I highly doubt anyone has already filled up their internal storage in a few weeks time.
        - Why would you get a new gen console and use old gen controllers on it. Might as well stick with the previous gen console. It makes sense for xbox because they barely made any changes to their new controllers anyways and they still feel clunky and cheap as always.

    • +5

Earth worm if you repeated your comment and put PS5 in its place that’s exactly how I feel about the matter.

      • -3

you can except you would be wrong.

  • Does the fridge come with this?

  • Grab a PS5 if you don't own a PS4 and then go to cash converters and pick up a shitload of PS4 games you might like for cheap

    • It's ungrabbable though

  • I bet there are some who bought this solely for gamepass. Lol

  • +1

By the way I got an XBSX in December by ringing around the local JB and EB stores. A little time-consuming, but it's only a ~1 minute call per store and they know exactly what you are asking for. If you aren't getting any luck with online orders expiring almost immediately, try your luck with the stores.

I got JB at Roselands to put an XBSX on hold for me, as long as I picked it up that day. They had a handful in stock.

  • +2

Can confirm what a few of the other comments have been saying. Casually went into my local JB today (Top Ryde, NSW) and asked what their stock of the Series X is like. Staff said they have been getting dribs and drabs and are allowed to sell stock on request but they aren't advertising it. They had three left so I picked up one. He also mentioned that with the purchase there was a 40% discount on game pass so I also picked up 3 months.
