  • Can anyone comment on this?

Can I sign up for 1 month free trail, cancel right away and still SB tracks and approves the cb?

Slightly worried that it's going to be hard to cancel…nor I can see in SB's T&C regarding how long I have to sub for before they will honour.

    • I believe it should be fine cancelling straight away

    • +1

Sign up with Paypal and cancel authorisation immediately. See below.

This way it can run the full month with no concerns about being billed.

    • +2

Doubtful, but let’s see what @gotyourback says.

      • +1

        Yep, as noted below:

Cashback is ineligible if a subscription is cancelled within 24 hours of signup.

  • +1

    Seems like free moneys

  • +17

OK done. Inserted PayPal as payment option then cancelled the PayPal authorisation immediately.

    Cancelling PayPal Authorisation:

On PayPal desktop site click the ⚙️ > Payments > Manage Automatic Payments

On the PayPal APP Click the ⚙️ > Automatic Payments

Hayu is a streaming service. Had to click through to find out what it is.

    • Streaming service specifically for reality TV (Keeping up with the Kardashians, real housewives, etc.)

      • +7

        Awful …just awful!

        • Lol yup, no deal.

          • +3

@Oofy Doofy: When you need to pay people $8 to watch this rubbish…that is a sign!

I'm not willing to even risk a free $8 on the off chance the missus discovers she can watch this.

            • @tunzafun001: I don't think lobotomies are legal nowdays… so she wouldn't have the required qualifications to watch anyway.

    • +2

Had to click through to find out what it is.

      Ditto. I can't imagine a streaming service that I'd be less interested in…..but $8 is $8.

  • Has any one received an email from Hayu with the order confirmation yet?

  • +7

Notes on app say not eligible if you cancel within 24 hours.

  • +7

Get an extra $3.50 by doing the exact same thing with CashRewards - https://www.cashrewards.com.au/hayu

New email needed, not sure about payment method

    • +1

Just got my Shopback tracked - $8
Gonna cancel through PP in 2 days just to be safe :) Ezy. This deal should get more attention.

    • Why a new email? Or do you mean a second one is needed to claim both?

Hm… I wonder if you can claim… both… multiple times… using a different email each time? I could open dozens of bank accounts, make this a full time job, or save up a house deposit!

      • Cant be a new user if you use the same email address for Hayu

        • Ah ok. You meant if doing both cashrewards and shopback. Not doing CR instead of SB, which is how I first read it.

  • +1

In the promo t&cs "cashback is not payable for customers who cancel their subscription with 24 hours of signing up"

    • Guess I'll wait 48 hours then

    • +2

Do it in PayPal..don't cancel it on the site.

  • +2

    Cash Rewards terms
Only new customers are eligible for cashback.

Cashback is ineligible if a subscription is cancelled within 24 hours of signup.

    ShopBack similar terms

    • +1

Cashback is ineligible if a subscription is cancelled within 24 hours of signup.

      Well spotted.

  • How do I "ear $8 cashback"?

  • When I click Hayu via Shopback App, it says "Only signups on Hayu website qualify for cashback"

  • Can't add my subscription details in step 2 - just get "Sorry, to view this site you must disable private browsing." which I don't have on so… ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • +1

    I’ll pass but thanks

  • +1

Cashback tracked on both Shopback & Cashrewards, cha ching!

    • how can you do both at once??

      • Sign up with a different email.

        • Can you use the same payment method? e.g paypal?

          • +1

@shockme79: I used c/c for one, paypal for the other

            • @nosytt: Isn't this likely to invalidate the cashback for both?

              • @baskinghobo: Maybe, but if they are desperate to boost subscribers why would they reject a new email/user name

    • how long did it take to get tracked?

  • +1

set yourself a reminder in this post to cancel the subscription.

    • Use Paypal and you won't have to. Just sign up and set up an auto debit through Paypal. Once it's setup login to Paypal and cancel the auto payment. A month from now they try and charge you for month 2, get blocked, so cancel your account.

  • Signed up this morning still no tracking yet

  • Ug…………is there anything worthwhile watching on "Hayu'. Not exactly a lot of shows to begin with and most "dare I say it" look like absolute junk (based on my viewing preferences)! Was hoping to find perhaps at least one show to watch for the effort of signing up. Ah well, thanks for the $8 SB, I'll just have to be happy with that so :-)

EDIT: "Uncorked" Might be worth a look to prepare ourselves for next BWS etc Discounts :-)

  • Thanks OP!

I always wonder who makes money or any sort of gain from these type of cashback deals…

  • It is easy to cancel asap, click on 'payment details' in 'your account' section. Your trial will continue to run until expiry date.

    • +3

Just remember: Cashback is not payable for customers who cancel their subscription with 24 hours of signing up

      • +2

        Doh!

        • Well, you've still got a month for free!

  • Hayu, Kayo, Hulu, Spuul, Kocowa, Binge!

  • Be aware! It's saying currently unavailable with $0 cashback at Shopback's website.

  • looks like it expired at roughly 8PM sydney time.

  • I believe this is expired for Shopback

  • +1

Anyone have their tracked but at $0?

    • Mine tracked for $8 (Signed up yesterday afternoon).

    • +2

Yes tracked $0. Contacted Shopback and they are asking for Order confirmation which Hayu never sent.

      • +1

Don't think there would be a invoice or confirmation since its a trial and there isn't a payment made. I think you would of received a Welcome email.

        • +2

One certainly gets a "Welcome to Heyu email" Otherwise, just sign into your account and select Billing History, That will show sign up date which should correspond to your Shopback click history. Send them that.

  • If anyone is having issues with tracking, drop them a mail. I just got my cashback tracked.

  • +1

I just checked the shopback app and it's changed from $8 pending to calculating…

  • now they want proof of the order when hayu only ever sent a welcome email.

    • +1

Go to hayu account and get the order number.

  • +1

Same here, mine went from $8 to 'calculating', I also noticed that this deal is back on so maybe their system is updating or something?

  • +2

Mine went to pending without being notified, really dodgy imagine the amount of cashbacks that get chnaged or rejected without us knowing.

  • +4

My CashRewards cashback got declined, anybody else had the same happen?

    • Did you activate both CR and SB?

      • Only Cashrewards for me
        I missed the SB deadline

    • Yeah same here

    • Yep seems like it's been declined for everyone.

      • I've made an enquiry with cashrewards

        • +1

Here's their bs response, I've never even subscribed before.

          "Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to our team regarding your transaction with Hayu. I hope you're doing well.

I looked into your transaction in the store's network and can see that it has been marked declined. The reason listed for this is that Hayu has identified that you have already received a free subscription trial before. Please note that the Hayu Special Terms on our website state that "Only new customers are eligible for cashback". Since you have already had a free trial before, you are not a new customer.

Your transaction being declined is also the reason that your cashback got declined. For future transactions, I'd recommend reading through the store terms before proceeding to shop since they have important information regarding cashback.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if there is anything else I can look into for you.

          Have a wonderful week ahead.

          Sincerely,"

          • @dorikin: Wow. That's terrible. Have to see if they just end up declining everyone.

  • +2

Shopback honored this one for me after a quick livechat session. Didn't have to give them the order number.

    • Just noticed that mine was rejected, how did you get onto live chat?

      • +1

Go to any Help article in their knowledge base, like this one
        https://support.shopback.com.au/hc/en-us/articles/3600391599…

click the link in "If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to click here and we will be glad to assist you!"

You'll start with a chatbot called Happybag, but eventually you'll get connected with a human agent.

        • Thanks, I'll give it a go during business hours and hopefully get it sorted.

        • Sorted, though in my case there was no one available so they emailed me back, I had to forward the original sign up email but it was quick and painless.

    • +1

I contacted support and they added it for me as well. Cheers
