    This or Razer Blackwidow Elite??

If you like the features and extra smooth linear type switches, then Steelseries is what you want. If you just want a RGB gaming style keyboard, Razer has all that, at a lower price point.

      • I was thinking Blackwidow Elite mainly for the wrist rest and media keys, do you know how those compare with the Apex’s?
Elite also goes down to $120’s on Amazon so waiting for that at the moment, but still looking around for a good full keyboard with those features at a modest price

Razer if you only want it to last 12 minutes.

          • @Nitr0: I know you're making a joke, but I just want to say that I've had my Blackwidow for 11 years now; not sure if they're still built the same.

The thing I don't like about Razer products is that the software requires a user account and internet connection to use (i.e. telemetry spyware). I refuse to install it, so I don't have access to the macro functionality.

            • @Heero: Razer has stayed in business for a long time so they can't be that bad.
That was my logic before buying a Naga.
Then I had two Razer Nagas die within 12 mths.
I don't think I'll be buying any more Razer products.

fwiw, I'm the same about Seagate. Millions of drives sold every year.
Every Seagate drive I've ever had - going back to 1995 - has died within months of brand new.
              They just don't like me.

        • Both have a magnetic attachment for the wrist rest and are similar quality. Apex Pro wins for media keys IMO due to the small OLED screen. Switch wise, Omnipoints would be comparable to Razer yellows, but far superior to the Razer in terms of functions and smoothness.

I think this keyboard only has ABS key caps, not double shot PBT. So I think they will likely get shiny after a little while of use.

I can't fathom anyone would pay $279 for a keyboard let alone $350 - $400 normal prices. And its not even wireless!!

    • Up until recently, the ability to have low input lag, and wireless wasn't possible.
The new logitech G915 is the first mechanical (that's widely available) to support it (there were a few fringe products before).

    • If you look at custom keyboards, they go north of this easily (an entry model like this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/568392, $280 was considered very good value).

Anyways, I do want to get this keyboard because it's very different to many keyboards in how it registers the key stroke (basically a magnet is inside, and movement of magnetic field allows actuation or something along the line?). Basically what they call contactless switch (where no contact is required for actuation) and apparently it allows for smoother keyboards.

I do have Chinese model that works in that principle and it is remarkably smooth, though it feels very cheap and thus I want to get something like this.

I have this. Paid $275. I love it, is it worth it? Prob not, you only want to adjust ur settings/buttons once so it’s prob cheaper to work out the key type you prefer and buy a keyboard with those keys but meh I still Iove it
