Nice pick up. Looks like we can’t win the xbox however the deal was posted for the free delivered Tshirt.

  • +1

Registered, activated, browsed the website….but nowhere to enter an address, so scratching my head to how they will send out a free t-shirt?

    • +1

You’ll get an email with a link to enter shipping details and size

    • +1

If using outlook, check other tab for email from veeam team for t-shirt

      • The final email took three hours to reach me and it landed in my Junk folder, so ensure you check there, tooo.

  • +26

Default size for Microsoft Engineer is XL :)

    • +7

      US XL(Made in US)= 5XL(made in China)

    • +1

And they are all out of 3XL, 4XL and 5XL sizing as of today….. Someone did not examine the bell curve correctly.

  • +9

you can use student email to get the t-shirt … if business email is not available … :)

    • Thanks! Also put Student as my company lol. hopefully will work

  • -5

I wouldn't support either company, M$ or Veeam … no way I would be advertising for them.

    • +1

      What's wrong with Veeam?

      • +13

maybe the poster above thinks Bill Gates engineered COVID-19?

        • +2

What he didnt???? I thought Bill was god level…. ??

          • @pharkurnell: Haha, definitely no. I'm not a Trump lover. nor a conspiracist, seen too many works of fiction to believe in those other than for entertainment value (and it's not much entertainment these days with all the nutters!). Don't think an awful lot about Gates, but mostly due to the greed of Microsoft (from which he obviously has significant history and involvement if not so much today).

      • I love that theres like 3 people asking this question. Veeam seems to have an ok rep.

      • It's partly a matter of trust, but there's more to it for me than this incident.

    • +5

you can always use the t shirt as a pijama

      • +3

Put on a nice belt and you have a fashionable one piece.

        • I won an XXL Red Faction Guerilla tshirt from Sony many years ago. My fiancee uses it as a PJ these days. I might have to do the same with the Veeam shirt. Though, she might be able to pull off that fashionable one piece with the nice belt.

    • +1

Veeam is great, what are you on about?

      • -1

I can manage everything Veeam does, without buying any software.

    • Someone had a bad customer support experience 😬

  • It won't accept my Gmail address

    • Because it wants a business address! You can't just use a Gmail address.

      • What if you work for Google haha.

        • +6

          They use a @google.com address

        • +2

Then your corporate email is @google

  • +4

I was trying to work out why Veeam sounded familiar, turns out I applied for a job there a few years ago.

    • +30

      really?
      Wow thanks for sharing!

      • +1

        Youre welcome.

    • +1

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you.

  • +4

Has anyone gotten any email for the shirt, i signed up a while ago but got nothing?

    • +2

Got registration email straight away. T-shirt link about an hour later. Used university email address.

      • I finalised my profiel. But now where to go for the T-shirt claim?

        • +1

Apparently they send you a 3rd email afterward it’s been almost 2 hours for me - still waiting

    • Email came through 2 hours later.

  • Done and done.

    • I finalised my registeration, but where to claim the T-shirt?

  • Time to replace my Rubrik shirt

    • +2

Time to replace my "team building exercise 99" tshirt.

  • +1

Still waiting for the third email, how long did it take for you guys?

    • +2

Same here waiting for over an hour so far

  • We use Veeam at work already so I'm sure I've already got an account with them. It didn't recognise me because I'd subscribed before with an old domain name, I guess I'll just have to remove myself from their spam marketing list later.

  • +1

free shirt to sleep with :)

    • +23

maybe take it to dinner & movie first

  • +1

Canvas tee-shirt? Sounds about as comfortable as an Office 365 subscription fee

    • +2

Get the biggest size and kids can sleep in it in the back yard

    • If you install new windows in vm then after some times it will ask you to register and sign in or get 365 subscription with 50% discount which equates to $65 for family (6 users, each can install in 5 machines, each with 1tb storage).

  • Anyone else not able to select a country?

  • +12

A lot of work to get a shirt that you can't even see an image of beforehand. Might just go to Kmart and get my own shirt for $5. Practically free.

  • +4

Logo'ed T-shirt for your email and physical address is pretty cheap for them (and "associates") to send you endless supply of spam whilst you're advertising for them when you go out with the T-Shirt on. lol.

    • +1

Less of a deal for them when I'm using made up details and a mate's address

  • +5

Id rather a Win98SE CDkey for all that personal info they want.

  • +1

Been over an hour and still no email.

    • same. It's been 1 hr, no email.

  • got email one and half hours after the rego.

  • What is subject line of this email?

About 10 minutes later you should receive a third e-mail with a personalised T-shirt redemption link

    • Your FREE Microsoft Ignite t-shirt!

      • +2

Its sad it doesn't have Microsoft logo

  • +1

me too (no subsequent email for address) what a rubbish deal

  • I'm a Veeam partner and they've never sent me a shirt. Unlike Sophos who sent me shirts, socks and fridges.

    • I never get anything..only the sales people do.

    • +1

      Where's the Sophos link?

They sent you a fridge? Wow!

      • +2

Had to meet sales targets and when ransomware was hitting AU hard about 6 years ago, selling UTMs were really really easy so most of us got these cool little bar fridges.

The socks were this deal and I'm wearing my Sophos 404 feet not found socks right now.

        • I got the Ctrl+Alt+Delete ones! But they are starting to fall apart, so I'm pretty upset.

Damn you sophos, give me more socks!

          • +1

@Intoxicoligist: Mine are still going strong. They seem to be pretty solid. I should totally message my Sophos account manager and see if she can do a sock deal 😂

            • @Clear: Ooohhhh, we did just move ~1500 endpoints to central from onsite as part of their cloud push. I definitely think that deserves some socks.

That being said I did get some in my AusCert conference goodies, but they aren't sophos quality (and are too small).

I might have to play my vendors off against each other to see who can give me the best socks.

    • Yeah I miss the old days when vendors would send all sorts of swag, most of them don’t anymore.

      • Ingram used to be real generous too and would send bonuses like a PS4. None of that happens anymore. Instead they just keep charging more and more $$$

        • Yep I got a Nintendo Wi from Hewelett packard back in the days. And Dell gave me a free laptop and tablet when I ordered a large laptop order. Would receive shirts, socks, branded pens and USB sticks, stickers, Christmas gifts, party invites, etc all the time. Now it’s a few things here and there and mostly seminars. Miss the Good old days!

          • @Bargaingeek: I think the most recent one was when COVID hit we got a pallet of HP suitcases. I guess they were taking up room and no one would buy them.

    • I still have sophos socks from sysadmin day like 8 years ago.

  • Got my email a fair bit later, thanks OP

  • +1

Got the email after nearly 2 hours.

  • What email domains are accepted??

    • Probably anything but a black list of "Free emails" (ie. hotmail, gmail, outlook.com etc). Highly doubt there's a check mechanism to see how legit the email address is. However, they catch you on the physical address for them to send you the t-shirt anyway.

    • my ISP webmail account was accepted (spintel)

  • Free T-shirt to donate

  • +2

Have not received free t shirt link

  • +1

Signed up for a free @alumni.com email address and Veeam registered it as a business email, waiting for my redemption link now!
Will edit/reply once I receive it

    • Received my code ~5min ago - 1 hour after completing registration

  • Tryna get my free t-shirt ay

  • +2

I signed up over 2 hours ago and never got a redemption link.

    • I got it after 2.5 horus.

    • Same. Got nothing.

      Of course, it just arrived.

      • Yeah mine just now too. Is it really just that plain green shirt in the image?

  • No link for me either, signed up over 2 hours ago now

    • edit got mine after 3 hours and it went to my junk mail
