  • Do optus price match?

  • Looks likes nobody has used these guys to unlock and no response from poster who mentioned them, so looks like i be going with Vodafone then.

    • Took just over 48 hrs for me to unlock - Monday arvo to Wednesday evening.

      • What do you mean? From the uk seller? What did you receive or info you gave them and what had you to do, or are we talking about Vodafone.
Seems to good to be true if uk seller

This deal is still available & Im keen. Lebara uses Vodafone. Does anyone know if people use Labara needs to unlock to be able to use one of these phones?

    • No need to pay unlock fee to Vodafone if you are using Lebara. I can confirm that.

  • Bought one for mum Easter Monday. Paid the unlocking fee Easter Monday arvo and it said approximately 2 business days to unlock. Was unlocked Wednesday evening and works fine with mum’s Boost sim.

    • Im boost also but who are you talking about on unlocking?

      • The iPhone SE in this deal is locked to Vodafone. I unlocked through Vodafone's website: https://unlock.vodafone.com.au/

        • Yes but some have said they got lucky and there device was already unlocked not tried mine yet or wife's yet but will try before splashing our $100 to get both unlocked.

Nobody has really answered my question in regards to post on here with an ebay uk seller unlocks these for fraction of cost.
its been many many years since i did such thing on ebay and dont know how safe it is to provide a seller an imei number and if it even works from them.
It would obviously save me fair bit on costs to unlocked compared to vodafone but then i did grab these phones knowing i be paying $50 each phone to unlock

          • @bwatt72: I bought from that UK seller and got refunded saying Voda Au no longer supported. They also changed the listing to Voda UK now.

  • Thanks OP - picked one up today and it was already unlocked

    • Same here, last one from officeworks lewisham, unlocked

I bought the last one from Officeworks in Richmond (Vic). It was a return, opened box - they said this on the phone at least. They offered a 5% discount on the $497 so came down to about $472. When I got it home I realised it had a pass code which wasn't any of the defaults and I kept locking it so I've just done a full restore from recovery mode. So much mucking around but at least it's now as-new (software-wise). Just paid the unlock fee, will await the outcome over the next couple of days. It's pristine condition, no buffs or scratches, just a bit of fingerprints.

But $472 for it was a good deal I thought.

Haven't looked at the usage history or battery status or warranty info yet. Officeworks assured me that their warranty was from the date of purchase (today), despite my concerns that it was activated in the past and Apple will recognise the warranty from then.

    • it was activated in the past and Apple will recognise the warranty from then.

Yeah Apple will show the activation date as the warranty start date.

It's supposedly possible for them to reset it but I personally gave up trying. Easier to simply wait for a failure and use the receipt as proof of purchase.

  • G’Day… because this forum helped me …is the reason I joined Ozbargain… so that I could share my experience …I have a 12 PRo…but wanted to upgrade my work handset (SE1st gen.. too small) … work reimburses some $$ for it. Few weeks ago … I got it for $497, I never opened it .. kept it in my locker at work … just couldn’t decide weather I should keep it or buy the XR … kept checking online almost everyday … very indecisive ….I did ask the OW people and I had 30 day change of mind full refund available - so didn’t want to open it in case they refused. Thursday 27/05 … to my surprise … the OW link showed another price drop… my jaw dropped …. $397…. I called my local OW straight away …. kid on phone says no we don’t have it. I said nah you do it says limited stock online…On hold 2 mins ….later phone cuts off … I call back asking for him (remembered his name) … he is like yes we have the last one….gave my name and no so they could put it aside for me…said I’ll be there in 2hrs (was busy). I wanted to grab the $397 … and return the old one later which I bought for $497……got the new one (few of them behind the counter muttered a few words … seems like the deal was too good and a lot interest was there… either the staff wanted it or others had called for it ) …no probs in returning the old one later…. But here is the thing … and this answers a few questions from people before …. No matter if you have opened the box or not … any return of phone …(maybe other items too ) …. they have to open the packaging and check that the phone is there … hence why so many opened ones being re-sold ….. also the new handset was locked for me …… bloody Vodafone taking too long to unlock ….. good news is the unlock fee was only $25 online .. not sure why… but I was only too happy to pay that with the pho e price dropping so low ….. questions about warranty …. Before opening the box …. I checked on apple check coverage page the serial no and it said 8th Dec’21 … however after activating the phone …. It is 12months from the date of activation . The OW link is no longer working … maybe they sold out … hopefully it comes back. If you Google “iPhone SE Vodafone Bundle” you will see a link which has the $397 price next to the link… but when you click it shows the error page. A bit long first post. Thanks for reading . Happy Hunting .
