      Avoid this monitor.

      • +1

No problem - so which other $450 monitor from that review do you recommend?

      • -1

omg this monitor is actually the worst of the bad ?

      • +1

Cool so it comes 2nd out of the 34" ultrawides on that chart.

        • It's a small subset of the monitors they've tested. Other technical data you can see previously from multiple websites does not paint a good picture for the Xiaomi. It is a barebones implementation of what is at best a minor revision of a 2017-2018 Samsung panel.

          • +1

@jasswolf: Kogan use Samsung panels. 1000r is too much and the grey to grey performance is worse anyway..

      • +2

What do you mean? I'm using the included DP cable in the box and it's producing 144Hz?

Only time I get lower than 144Hz is from a USB-C to DP cable which maxes out at 120Hz.

      • +4

There's something wrong with either your GPU, driver or configuration, you should be getting 144hz with the included cable.

    • built in under screen webcam that can only be used by manufacturer to monitor for user safety :)

  • +1

Good price, had mine since Christmas. Go for it folks

Only fkn downside is that with Freesync good luck getting a GPU at RRP. I'm looking to upgrade my 5600 XT and there is no stock anywhere of anything.

Thinking of jumping ship to RTX if it stays that way.

  • i ordered one for chistmas and came after 6wks

    • Next time please order ahead of thanksgiving, you will love your xMas present :)

Be warned, the 1500R curve is aggressive.

I have an X34 Predator I was hoping to replace with the Xiaomi, but nope - the 1900R curve on the X34 is far more natural and allows me to sit further back from the monitor.

Anyone who is not used to a curved screen, I'd suggest buying from a store that will accept returns - or seeing it in person first.

    • what do you mean aggressive ? i never own curve now using LG ultra wide 29" plus one 21" (the 21" in vertical mode)
would it be weird to have one horizontal curve & one vertical flat?

      • It curves a lot. The lower the R number, the tighter the radius.

        A 1900R screen is flatter than a 1500R screen.

1500R is too curvy to comfortably sit further back - as you will notice the curve and it felt unnatural for me.

      • +3

I'm went from flat 27 to this and its great! I don't see a problem if you tack on a vertical on the side either

        • my wallet hates rabbits now :D

    • +9

I don't even notice the curve on mine anymore. Been using it for work during the day and gaming at night for 6 months now.

      • +3

Same here, it's not aggressively curved at all to me.

    • i have both and see literally no difference between them. Granted i dont do gaming on the Xiaomi but one is more than twice the price

At this price point its great value.

    • I have this monitor and it wasn't too bad for me. However, I do agree that the monitor don't perform well with straight lines. Its not too bad but you can ever so slightly see the curve.

  • is this the lowest ever price ?

    • Lowest was $449 at Christmas time.

      • +6

Got mine for $419 delivered through catch a couple weeks ago

        • Is there a code to get it for $419? Its saying 549 for me.

          • +2

@oison: There was a deal on here for it somewhere - it was quite a few hoops - like buying gift cards and stacking with a coupon from memory.

            • @Shadowsfury: Yeah 10% off catch with 15% off catch giftcards and free delivery through catch membership

    • Lowest is 450$ with kmart (or 300$ clearance with kmart).

  • just got one, what happens if dead pixel ?

    • Unfortunately with Kogan support you will have to jump a lot of hoops to get them to cover shipping back for RMA.

      • +1

i got kogan first, will that help ?

        • Yes it should a bit

  • +2

hmm, really want a monitor was a USB hub, what do we think?
yeah i know i can a hub, but it isn't clean

    • +11

      Wash it

    • My biggest regret after buying this..
Never thought i'd miss a USB hub in my screen so much. Especially with one of them being quick charge.

    • +1

I bought a USB 3.0 hub that supported external power and used some 3M double-sided tape to stick it to the back of the stand. Not as convenient as having the USB ports on the side, but I'm not plugging/unplugging stuff a lot, and this keeps the KB/mouse setup neat enough.

  • this or the dell 32" 4k for non gamer

    • -3

If you're looking at ultrawides for document work - or anything involving a lot of scrolling - you're probably going to have a better time with an IPS or TN monitor, but if you're still keen on an ultrawide, this is probably a better deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/610923

no way im touching a kogan brand

        • These are largely all using the same basic ODM for these models, with the Xiaomi just having thinner bezels on three sides.

What matters far more is the panel that is used, how it is tuned (balance of response time, thermals and voltages), calibrated, and how it is controlled to execute this.

The Kogan uses a newer panel, wouldn't be calibrated or tuned worse than Xiaomi (and you can see this in technical testing of the Samsung G5, the Xiaomi and the Gigabyte G34WQC), the only question is how much effort Xiaomi has put into the controller. All signs indicate that they haven't done much.

So if you're easily wooed by the possibility of a custom bezel and stand, by all means, trust a brand name blindly. I only have faith in Xiaomi for well-budgeted phones and set top boxes, for now. They're supposed to be delivering 240Hz and 360Hz monitors at some point this year, but nothing's been mentioned about that for 6 months.

A further reflection of the quality of this monitor is that it would go for about $300-$350 AUD if it were being properly imported, because that's roughly how much it goes for in China (where they have a higher sales tax).

  • Got this in the last deal with banngood. Took some getting used from from my previous 27 inch 165 hz monitor.
But it has been great so far. Mainly using for work and also games like CS:GO.

    • +1

What was the "getting used to"?

      • +1

The ultra wide screen mate. Biggest one I have used as a monitor so far.

        • +1

Any noticeable difference 144 vs 165 hz while gaming ?

          • +1

            @sct911: ofc not

          • @sct911: Not at all! In fact. I could barely notice the difference between my previous-previous monitor at 75 Hz to 165 Hz. There was something different though.

In any case, no difference between 165 and 144 for me.

Few other annoyances that come to mind with this one. Had to turn off motion response time feature as it made games render weirdly for me.

Also switching between HDMI and DP etc is a pain. My previous monitor had a simple button at the front to switch. This one has them at the back and it takes few steps thru the menu to switch inputs.

Not sure if anyone else found shortcuts. But these are just annoyances.

  • will this be delivered before next Christmas?

Nice fit for Series S, but no HDR which is a shame.

    • +1

      Series S supports ultra wide?

      • Not sure, but 120hz it does.

  • +2

Got Xiaomi screen bar light, AX3600 router, Redmi K20pro, Mi sweep robot, Xiaomi smart power switch, Xiaomi power board, 2s fan, now I just need this monitor to complete my setup!

  • +1

Great price. Using this for purely work and multi windows is a life saver.

  • Do you know if we can use Kogan gift cards with the coupon code?
    Thanks.

  • +1

Had this for about two weeks. I don't game on it, purely for spreadsheet work. Can't tell you how nice it is working on something this wide. Big fan.

Took me a day to get used to the curve (almost carsick type feeling).

  • thanks for link bro <3 finally got it at a good discount <3

  • Looks like they bumped $11.99 delivery to $15.99 as i was placing an order.

    • $21.99 for me.

  • Nice price. Tempted but it is from Kogan :(

  • Just bought one and hope it will arrive soon.

  • One day my pretty, you will be mine
