A Little Birdie told me to get the one with the temperature gauge and taller lid

Temp gauge on the outside is almost useless. You'd be better off with a probe inside the food

      • Temp gauge on the outside is almost useless.

Works fine for me and food comes out perfect…

        • I dont have one on mine and i let it get hot enough where the snags sizzle when you throw them on it

          • @HKS: I can't fit snags in the one with the low lid.

            • @jv: African or Australian snags?

        • They're generally incredibly inaccurate, but if you're getting good results, keep grilling!

          • @hotphil:

            They're generally incredibly inaccurate

            Weber ones are good.

      • This is like saying your oven telling you it reached 220 degrees is useless. The lie detector says that was a lie.

Like others have said, I've got the temp gauge and it works very well.

        • The built-in is taking the temperature at the hood rather than at the grate and usually there’s a bit of a difference in temp. You could get away with it but I reckon you’d be better off investing the money saved into a Bluetooth temp gauge that will give you a probe at grate level and a probe for the internal temp of whatever it is you’re cooking.

    • JV can you show me a link of what you mean by the one with taller lid and temperature gauge, sorry, new to this Weber BBQ thing.

  • I already have the lodge sportsman cast iron grill, would this one provide some additional benefits? I suppose this cools down faster for putting back into the car?

This doesn't require you to be a sportsman…

      It's also about $800 cheaper

  • Can one use Little birdie code for in store buy?
