        And one for the lame
        One for the little h*e
        Who lives down the lane

        • -7

They are selling like hot cakes!! Sold 4 already. Very high in demand. As long as Phil and his honchos keep stuffing us around with the release dates!!

        • One for their master
          And one for the lame

Always thought it was and one for the Dame…. unless she had an accident

      • +1

        bought 20. Good investment

        • +2

They're actually not. I've been buying them for FF points on my credit card. Finding it hard to sell them for RRP ($750).

          PS5s are more in demand.

          • -8

@SnowDragon: I actually sold mine within 6 hours on ebay for $1000 a week ago.

            • +1

@Jklaro: What are the fees like on that? $100?

              • -3

@SnowDragon: Yer something like that. Doesn't change the.fact that I.still.sold it.

Luckily I.had free fees for 2 items so I didn't pay any fees.

        • +1

well done mate! Best investment. At least we get it before those EB games $200 deposit and you get it in June!!

    12th May!

Probably worth letting any Telstra customers know I ordered through them on 25th March and received my Xbox series x yesterday - so 6 days from order to delivery

Cheaper than RRP by about $30 as well

    • I ordered mine through Telstra on 09 March and it came yesterday too, must've just received a batch at the warehouse. Who knows how many they got and if there's even still any/many left.

    • So, if i'm reading the details on the Telstra store right. You sign up for Xbox series X and pay the first months charge of $46. Then claim your 2-years GamePass voucher to get 2-years GamePass on your Live account. Then cancel your contract and pay out the contract/console at $717.92 cancellation fee. This means you get an Xbox Series X faster than most places, and also 2 years Gamepass for a total of $763.79. Essentially 2 years gamepass for $14.79 extra on top of the HN console price. Plus you would get points on credit card if paying that way plus probably telstra points as well.

      • Nope gamepass will cancel at end of billing month, see https://www.telstra.com.au/entertainment/gaming/xbox-all-acc…

Your Xbox All Access subscription provides month-to-month access to Game Pass Ultimate, and will auto-renew every month you stay connected to Xbox All Access up to 24 months. After the first 24 months, you will roll over to a standalone Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription at the standard in market rate, currently $15.95 per month. If you cancel Xbox All Access, you will need to pay out the balance remaining on your console, which will be charged as a once-off payment in your next Telstra bill. Your subscription access will end at the end of that billing month.

I wouldn't give a cent to this crook.
The same &$;!?@ who said import GST was unfair… Looks like he doesn't care what's fair, just lining his fat pockets.

    • +9

I didn't need the article to know he's a crook.

    • I agree and havent been buying from him since this debacle. However, as my son's birthday is coming up in mid-late May, and I had promised him an Xbox Series X, I couldnt take the chance of missing out and leaving him empty handed on his special day, so pre-ordered. I even checked Big W, JB, EB Games, etc to see if they had resumed pre-orders so I wouldnt have to pre-order with HN, but nothing with those stores yet unfortunately.

Now just need to find a decent 55" TV to go with it.

    • +4

Only use of HN is to price match elsewhere.

    • -2

I love Harvey Norman, they have very good customer service.

    • -3

I think Gerry was right about the GST not applying to imports. It's supposed to be a universal sales tax.

      • +6

Was he right about not paying $14+ million jobkeeper payments back after doubling his profit over the same period?

Pretty sure our tax dollars being used to line his fat pockets isn't right.

        • Unfortunately we have muppets running the country and they made some pretty average policies. I can't blame anyone for minimising their tax within the confines of the legislation. If I was entitled to a tax deduction or a government rebate then I would be taking it, and I suspect the majority of people on Ozbargain would also take the rebate and/or tax deduction.

        • +3

Pretty sure our tax dollars being used to line his fat pockets isn't right.

There are dozens of business' in the top end of town that rorted the system…
Many are refusing to pay back a cent and whats worse is that Gov Co dont do anything about it…
But if Daves Deli with a staff of a few did it, they'd persecute him to death to pay back those few hunge….

        • Agreed that keeping the job keeper payments is total bs. I was only talking about the GST.

          • -1

@mwahahaha: yeah the gst is a regressive tax, designed to increase the price of imports with the greatest effect on those below median incomes…and all the money collected has literally been given away to the rich and largely yank companies for nothing.

so the poorest australians have now literally subsidised the rich through liberal/ national design.

            • @petry: Sure it's a regressive tax I am not really arguing the merits of the tax itself but rather on it being applied, not applying it to overseas online companies doesn't stop it from being regressive. If it's being applied as a universal tax it should be universal.

              • -1

@mwahahaha: universal tax - whats that? murdoch doesn't pay it, or any of his species.

    • +4

Agree. I haven't bought anything from HN in years and will now certainly not spend another cent there.

There are plenty of other places to buy from.

    • -2

Surprising they are a business… Business' need to make profit to survive… all successful business' do it. the unsuccessful ones close up.

    • Gerry will make better use of the money than the government.

  • +2

Awesome. I can buy a 7% discount voucher from my company for Harvey Norman. I'm buying this!

  • I bought a rtx 3080 and paid $1,479 on 09/01/2021. My first and last purchase with them. Still waiting :(

    • I bought a rtx 3080 and paid $1,139.
      Guess I got a bargain.

      • You did. You could resell it now used for double that.

        • double? sheeesh. glad I bought it then.
Flight simulator 2020 basically made me buy this card.
but at this moment my pc just mines ethereum 24/7 so at least I can recoup the cost of the gpu (getting there).

been gaming on the new consoles in the meanwhile.

but at this moment my pc just mines ethereum 24/7 so at least I can recoup the cost of the gpu (getting there).

How much profit are you making? At our energy prices, it's not very efficient.

            • @lostn: average ~net being $10-10.50/day.
card is at 72% power limit.

              • @[Deactivated]: running it 24/7?

That's about half an hours wages at the minimum wage level before tax.

                • @lostn: That's $3600 per year after electricity is paid for… for a single 3070.

If that amount is insignificant to you, then please keep complaining all you like from your ivory tower while the rest of us make some decent side income.

                  • @studentl0an: if only the environment could be saved for less than $3600 a year.

                    • @lostn: A small pool pump uses 1000w+ and is on for 24 hours a day even when no one uses it.

A single 3070 is using 150w. It's really not much.

If you think that people using their graphics card to make money makes them bad for the environment then I would only say to hold a mirror up and look at all the negative impacts you make to the environment before chastising others. I'm sure you've thrown away plastic, so how about not casting stones as you are not without sin yourself?

I think you're just jealous that you missed the boat, because everyone else is making hay while the sun is shining.

    • same here. Have a 6800xt ordered on 07/01/2021 still showing as processing….

Won't cancel it as it was $1069 or $994 after paying with 7% discount gift cards….

      • you're never getting it

        • i want to belieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeve.

at least i still got my 3070

  • -6

    Normal prices aren't bargains.

    • +4

Not really. I have both. I wouldn't trade one for the other. They're both great in their own aspects.

    • +12

Why are PS fanboys so annoying…

      • +2

and in his case, he goes on and on about it in every deal posted about an Xbox. They are both good consoles, I have both.

        • +2

          Ahh so it's insecurity then.

          • +1

@smartazz104: I have a good gaming PC. I honestly can't understand what value Xbox would bring if I purchase it. If you can explain that to me, I'd be happy take my comment back.

            • +1

@earth worm jim: Not everyone has a "good gaming PC". That's great that you do; OzB deals aren't for everyone. It's like commenting on a deal for coffee beans telling people to drink tea, or bluetooth headphones deals telling them using a cable is better, or iPhone deals complaining about Apple fanboys being sheep, oh wait…

            • +1

@earth worm jim: I have a nice gaming PC. I stil enjoy my series x more. Don't have to worry about different launchers, drivers, updates etc.

the simplicity of picking up my controller, sitting on couch and being in a game under 30 seconds is bliss.
in the ps3/ps4 or the 360/xone era the consoles were far far behind pc, current consoles I'd say compare with most mid-range PCs.

        • @cute as ducks: RRP is not a deal

          • +3

@earth worm jim: That isn't your argument Jim, your argument is you are a blinkered fanboy pretending that you have a valid opinion.

            • @smartazz104: Never owned a PS uptill now. If that makes me a fanboy I'll take it. Wouldn't change my opinion about useless hardware tho. Lol.

I bought 3 and the mongrels cancelled 2 of them!! Oh well, so be it!

    • Try paying with different payment method and name and email

      • for next time.

        • +1

Try just buying what you need and not being a grub

  • +2

bought 5 for crypto mining, thanks OP

    • How do you set those up for mining, any guide anywhere? Sounds better than buying one of those Chinese rigs

      • im kidding, I dont think they can be mined on… yet but considering the price of GPUS and the GPU in those bad boys its probably a cheaper way to get a mining rig..

        • +1

Haha… ok .. you got me… forgot today's date.. though I did think the specs could work.

  • +1

i litterally have a playstation 5, and a new COmputer coming with a 6800XT coming and I still want an xbox … why?

    • gotta catch 'em all

    • +1

Cause you want to play the games from your pc but not as good

    • +1

I always want the new Xbox, till I get it, then I end up playing the same games on my PC.

    • Yeah but you don't have an OUYA - so you're not a pro gamer yet.

    • Gotta consume

  • Hopefully other stores also get stock around May then

  • +2

MS is benefiting greatly from the situation we're in with pandemic levels of demand for entertainment combined with a chip shortage leading to FOMO and scalping. In normal times I don't see this console being sold out beyond 3-4 months (I can see PS5 staying sold out for 6-8 months). But we may never return to normal times after these precedents.

With people more than willing to pay $500 usd for a console now, I think next gen's consoles will launch at the much feared $600 usd price tag. Those were grounds no console maker was willing to touch again since the PS3 in 2006. But the world's changed now, and consumers will be willing to pay it. Truth be told, even if PS5/XSX was $600 it would be cheaper than the $600 console in 2006 dollars. People are just oblivious to inflation.

    • In normal times I don't see this console being sold out beyond 3-4 months

No consoles are because they usually have a steady supply so you can buy one as soon as you want one. They're selling out repeatedly because of constrained supply more than increased demand.
