Double the price for half the performance of an M1. Lol

      Apple iOS

      • I think Panda meant that Costco lists the Operating System as iOS under Specifications on their website? Big Sur is a great evolution of macOS.

    • I imagine the M1X or whatever goes in the next MBP will be even more powerful too

(…) because the m1 macbooks have a heap of problems with software from MS, Adobe, Oracle, Resolution issues and buggy software in general.

Your own experience? Because I've been using a M1 Pro since early January for development and I found no less issues that I would have with any other OS. Even non-native software works just fine.

        • Yes, and a bunch of videos on youtube and comments on reddit.

        • Do you have any issues with Docker?

      • I run MS office with no problem.. Do you have a clue?

Wait for the next release with the M1 chips

Don’t do it - M1 is wrecking everything.

  • This is a really bad buy lol

  • I’d advise against purely for the fact it’s a 9th gen chip. Sure there probably isn’t that much in it, but if you want to stay intel, the newer 11th gen have much lower power consumption for the performance and you’re also not buying into a 2019 model.

    • Sure, but you can’t buy a MBP with an 11th gen. chip, and probably never will be able to.

      • True, though I did read somewhere they were keeping the option on their higher end 16”. Perhaps that has changed now?

        • I imagine they'll want to go M chips all through the range after investing so much in them.

Kinda sends the wrong message having the top of the line model using old Intel parts.

          • @Merlict: I'm not entirely sure what Apple is intending. The M1 Macbook pro's don't support eGPU which for me is important in applications which are CUDA accelerated.

Unless M1 supports eGPU i think @toshjammi is right, they'll keep intel systems for their high end 16"

            • @BigPeeper: Yeah they'll have to deal with 16gb ram max and eGPUs if they want the pro market. I only assume both of those are fixable but they skipped for the budget lines.
