Gaming PC with R5 5600X, RTX 3070, B550M Aorus MB, 16GB 3200MHz RAM, 256GB NVME SSD, 650W Bronze PSU $1998 + Delivery @ TechFast

5600X-3070-APR

Hi folks, Ryzen 5 5600X CPUs have come in in decent numbers so we can offer it paired with the RTX 3070 in this new standalone deal.

If you ordered the 3600 | 3070 version from about 10 days ago and want to upgrade, you can do so by paying the CPU difference of $110. This deal has a 256GB m.2 NVME SSD, while the previous deal had a 480GB SSD, so if you want to keep the larger capacity SSD an additional $29 would apply. We can invoice for one/both so you keep your position in the queue; email [email protected] if you want to go ahead.

Ryzen 5 5600X | RTX 3070 8GB Gaming PC: $1998 after 5600X-3070-APR

  • Ryzen 5 5600X 6c/12t processor with Wraith Stealth cooler [we have tested the combo on the Aorus Elite MB and the cooling is fine, but as RTX 3000 series GPUs definitely push CPUs harder you will see improved CPU temperatures with a liquid cooler or your own air cooler post purchase. We don't offer after-market air coolers ourselves due to previous shipping damage problems.]
  • RTX 3070 8GB (brand/model may vary; Galax, MSI, Gigabyte, Asus all being used)
  • Gigabyte B550M Aorus Elite motherboard [MSI X570-A Pro and Gigabyte Aorus X570 WiFi upgrades available]
  • 16GB 3200MHz RAm (2x8) (brand/model may vary)
  • Lexar NM700 256GB NVME m.2 SSD
  • Gigabyte P650G 650W 80 Plus Bronze PSU (750 Gold from MSI or Gigabyte upgrade $69)
  • Lance-V RGB ATX case

Shipping estimated towards the back end of this month onwards.

Updates

  • All older Intel and R5-5600X 3070 systems are being finalised at the time of posting (Z490 WiFi upgraded to Z590 at no charge due to stock shortages) so we're back in estimated 14 business day date range for those by end of week
  • R5-3500X / 3060 deal systems in build now and shipping this week onwards
  • 6700 XT orders we're looking at assembly and shipping from next week onwards
  • No substantial update on Galax 3080 orders - updates will be going out direct to customers as soon as we get info from Galax. MSI upgrade orders getting done as GPUs come to hand.

Cheers
Luke

  • How best to get wifi with this?

    • A gaming spec USB WiFi for the Gigabyte board, or a separate PCIE network card and the X570 upgrade, or the Gigabyte X570 WiFi upgrade. A PCIE network card won't fit under the GPU on the Aorus B550 board.

    • +3

Just get yourself a cheap wifi dongle. No need to upgrade the motherboard if all you want is wifi.

    • +1

A USB WiFi dongle is probably the easiest way

    • +3

Ethernet over power is your answer if possible in your situation. Unless you need wifi for other reasons.

      • This is highly dependant on the quality of your power wiring. A lot of EOP systems suck

        • This is true, I have only had good experiences.
Maybe buy one that can be returned and give it a go?

    • Ethernet cable into wifi extender also an option.

  • Hi Luke.

What models of 3070 are you using at the moment ? Any upgrade options to a stronger cooling tier ?

    • Stronger cooling on the 3070 I'm assuming you mean? We haven't had confirmed larger quantity of any specific model like the Giga Gaming OC or MSI Ventus 3X at this stage, so it's not offered as a set upgrade and just left as brand/model may vary. Models are generally dual fan but the last batch we received was in fact Gaming OC 3-fan. It's just not something I can specify a quantity of at this stage.

      • Thanks and yes I was referring to a higher tier gpu. Some thing on a custom pcb and solid cooling is always much better than the standard layout and duel fans.

Btw the previous two systems found their way to good winners that will make good use of them. Thank you for all your help with getting the parts in my hands.

        • Glad to hear!

      • Hey Luke, I ordered one of these recently and was wondering if we can make requests for a particular 3070 model (MSI Ventus 3x) that would be fulfilled if possible (extra cost as needed), but using just whatever is available otherwise?

  • Hey Luke,

Great deal! Are any Intel 3070 deals coming up?

    • +1

Looking into it, interesting time with generational changeover supply/pricing wise.

      • +1

Thanks for the response. I just wanted to make this comment to let you guys know that if you're thinking of 10th gen or even 11th gen Intel systems, that there is still interest from people. Regardless, thanks for the builds you guys are putting out there it helps us to get a decent PC in this current market.

        • -1

can confirm waiting for a good intel deal

  • Great deal as always. :)

Luke would you know the estimate of my second order? TF4610892631

Friend just received the first order thanks :)

    • Yep, as per the update yours is among those in build now

      • update? I haven't received any update.

  • +3

This is the sweetspot I was after.

    Thanks Techfast.

    Hi Luke,

Will you guys ever be doing SFF Builds? Not like the tiny ones, but the ones that use riser cards and can usually fit full length GPUs?

Honestly been tempted by most of your deals, but even the micro ATX case builds are a little bit too big for me.

    • +1

Will we ever I would say yes, will it be soon I'd say unlikely as we're not looking at that space right now, even though I know there is a market here for it.

  • no word on 3080 deal from jan is getting annoying now

    • +11

Can't disagree and we're pushing as hard as anyone multiple times every week. The option of prebuild and send before GPU arrival or cancellation has been offered to all customers which I know you know.

      • +4

I know you know I know, cheers for the transparency as always.

    • +2

Unfortunately nothing TF can do, it's a supply issue.

    • I waited 2 months for the original 3080 deal and I got in an hour after it went live during the day lol.

  • +3

Can we get a 5600X upgrade option for the 6700XT, 3600 build posted earlier? Thanks

    • I'd be interested in this too, please.

  • +1

Hi Luke, just wondering if there's any good offer range of price $800~1000?
    Thanks!

    • +2

There's not, sorry! Zero supply of any suitable GPU right now thanks to mining.

      • Ok, thank you for the reply!

      • Scalpers are the bigger issue.

      • Hey Luke, was wondering if there's any current or 'on the horizon' deals for a set-up to run my small home office stuff but also capable for my son to play Fortnite/LoL. My needs are basic but would like to get something future proof for him (he doesn't stream or video edit). Looking at $1,200 range
Edit: I saw a similar question is answered below so pls ignore my Q.

  • Hi Luke, sorry to reach you from here
I got an email on 31Mar from TechFast team to double check with management regarding my 3080 order
haven't got any response since then 😬 sent a follow-up email on 4 April too
May I ask you to check?
    Much appreciated :)

    • Sure, just need an order number or other identifier to look into it

      • Much appreciated!

  • Hi Luke

I bought the r5 3600 deal #TF4614612631 on 26th of March and interested in upgrading the cpu to 5600x. Would this push me to the back of the queue or delay my order?

    • As in deal post, no impact on your queue position but please request via email to [email protected] and we'll arrange invoice for you, thanks!

  • Hi Luke,

I got the 3600/3070 order. can I please get this upgrade? TF4614232631

  • +4

Still glad I got in on the 3600, RTx 3080 deal a while back for 2k. It took two months but definitely worth!

  • +1

D'oh Luke - you got me. Didn't wake up thinking I would buy a PC today but here I am SOLD! Cheers.

  • I don't need to spend this much, but while people in the know are perusing this thread…

What would be a good system to aim for for a Linux user if I..

    Wanted to spend about $1500
Want to drive two large monitors
Want hassle free video issues (AMD preferred presumably)

    • +1

      hassle free video issues

Not sure what you're meaning here…

If you don't want to pay through the nose for (any) GPU, then an Intel build with an iGPU will be your cheapest brand new option. Most mobo's have dual video out.

If you're stingy, or patient for better prices, a refurb Optiplex 9010 build from eBay is about $250 with dual DP - but that'll likely struggle with dual 1440p/4k displays. A SFF 1050ti for another $250 would solve this.

      • +1

I'm referring to the fact that AMD plays nicely with Linux developers (open source drivers) vs NVIDIA, which is all proprietary and apparently hard(er) to get working.

        • Ah, gotcha

Same problem though - new AMD GPU's are still exorbitant unfortunately

    • +1

they have a sub $1500 amd deal currently running https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/611574

      • Thanks, that looks very tempting

    • +1

Go for an AMD Ryzen APU in the current market, no point buying a discrete GPU if you don't game, they are all pricey.

5000 series APU are launching soon too, or you can buy 4000 series from aliexpress (they are oem only so no retail in AU)

4650G which is roughly equivalent to Ryzen 3600 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001642666525.html

For 3000 series APU you need to buy a B450, X470 or older board. For 4000+ series B550, X570 should be fine.

B450 Mortar MAX has a display port and HDMI so supports 2x 4k monitors easily https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B450M-MORTAR-MAX/Specificati…

  • +1

Just placed my order. Thanks :)

  • -2

How do I go about upgrading the CPU if I've already received a pc?

    • +2

LOL, buy a new 5600x cpu and swap it over.

      • -2

And then do what with the 3600

        • +1

          Exactly.

          • @eccles30: I doubt the 5600x would even be a significant upgrade over the 3600, unless you’re doing productivity work but gaming wise it would be neglible

Edit: replied to the wrong person lol

  • Is it worth upgrading from a r5 3600 to r5 5600x?

    • Interested to find out too

      • +6

Unlikely. Unfortunately these questions are impossible to answer without knowing what exact use you will have for the system. The 5600x is better than the 3600 but 95% of people wouldn’t know or need the difference. For internet browsing, watching video, using Microsoft office and playing games @1440p or 4K there is no human perceptible difference. If you are encoding or compiling the 5600x is faster but a $500 or more 5950x is what will make an actual difference. Buy the cheaper one, if it’s just too slow it’s really easy to resell PC gear at the moment and upgrade later.

  • Hi Luke,

Is it possible if we can get the testing outputs for the system?

    Thanks.

    • +3

It's been disassembled and the detailed results weren't saved as we were just looking at temperatures and overall score, but GPU temp was 67 and CPU temp 72.5, pass with 98.9% in TimeSpy Extreme testing.

      • Thanks for this info Luke. I was contemplating AIO, but "this is fine".

      • Thanks

  • Hi Luke,

I ordered the 3600/6700XT combo over the weekend.

Could I upgrade to the 5600x as well now they're in stock?

  • Hey, just a psa but I’d double check the psu reviews before grabbing one.

  • Hi Luke,

I rushed to make the order without applying the discount code. Could you please apply it to my order

    order number
    TF4618092631

Please let me know if you require some more details

    Thanks.

    • I'll action that request with Operations, thanks!

  • +6

I just love the detail and effort in these posts, and that you respond helpfully to your customer base, and that you are happy to change and customise orders when reasonable.

  • +1

Great deal and customer support on these forums.

  • +1

Considering the GPU fiasco of 2021, is there any chance of having a build under $1000 (can push to $1200) that's capable of 1440p 60FPS?
Games I'd considering playing would be like the new Total Wars, Halo, Red Dead 2…in general fairly graphics intense games.

    • +2

This year, I would say very unlikely unless something major changes.

      • Oh boy, that's very disheartening. In your opinion, would this build be relatively future proof?

        • Yes, very. Newly released CPU and GPU on a motherboard that is also guaranteed for the next iteration of AMD CPUs.

          • @luketechfast: Love you!

          • @luketechfast: Next iteration of AMD CPUs is going to be socket AM5 I think?
I don't think this board will be BIOS updated with a whole new socket…

        • If you want something for 1440p 60fps go the $1488 6700xt deal its the best bang for the buck system they have on offer. It should do 60fps in max settings 1440p in nearly any non ray tracing title to date.

          • @XiTaU: Awesome. I'll see how far I can stretch my budget. Would you say this deal is worth forking up an extra $500 for?

            • @Pornboy69er: 3070 = 2080ti last gen was $2k alone yeah?
The fact this has DLSS and real ray tracing makes it more future proof than the amd one. Plus more capable of pushing high framerates with DLSS (with like for like cpu), because it can render at lower settings and upscale with AI and minimal loss in fidelity.

Just turned on resizable BAR with rtx3080 and it added frames in Dirt 5, but more noticeable was higher min framerates at 1% low etc. Ie that is more noticeable having less dips.

            • +1

@Pornboy69er: This wont give you 25% better performance so id say if your on a budget the 6700xt deal is best. You can see about getting the 5600x upgrade for $110 but that isnt really needed either because GPU is the biggest factor at 1440p.

            • @Pornboy69er: I concur the $1488 6700xt machine is generally stronger value. This one is very shiny though.

I'd take the case upgrade for $29 at least, as the Lance case is apparently tricky to fit extra hard drives into (requiring a fair amount of disassembly to do so).

  • Hi Luke. Which brand are you supplying for the 1TB m.2 [NVMe] Solid State Drive? Cheers

    • It varies according to supply but we have been using Lexar, Crucial and WD recently.

  • Hey Luke, I think this one is good deal compare to previous deal with 5800X.

Anyway Can you please double check when my system will be ready? I will send you DM thanks.

  • "Warning: Coupon is either invalid, expired or reached its usage limit!"

    • +1

I just tried it and it's working. I suspect you're trying it on the wrong system on the site - it needs to be via the link in the deal.

      • well thats embarassing, woops lol

  • No upgrade to 5800x available?
