Dick Smith - Amaysim Bundle SIM + $99.90 Recharge/Broadband Credit for $79. Free Delivery

40

For today only, Dick Smith is selling this Amaysim bundle for $79 (online only). Contains:

  • 1 x AMAYSIM $2 SIM Pack
Get connected with the AMAYSIM $2 SIM Pack.

  • 1 x AMAYSIM $100 or $99.90 Voucher
Top up your account with the amaysim $100 Recharge or $99.90 Broadband Voucher.

There's not much information other that that. I'm guessing the $99.90 broadband voucher might be for the $99.90 10GB for 365 days data plan? Can anyone confirm?

[EDIT] Amaysim website currently has 20% off, but for first orders only. This might be useful for someone who is already with Amaysim.

Amaysim's customer service is horrid, but again its not a bad deal for $79 and since its on Optus network.

    • My experience with Amaysim's customer service has been good. And they are based in Australia. Please be specific with your complaint rather than general.

    • True, I got a couple of $10 Cudo offers (one month unlimited phone calls) last year but couldn't see the unlimited status in MyAmaysim. After I emailed them the issue was fixed in a day or two. Personally I think they have decent customer service in term of email communications.

    • I found the service great - at least it's in Australia.

As for Optus… well, it's cheaper than Telstra and at least it isn't with that other network, eh?

    • I had a problem with AmaySIM when I first joined. Quick call and they sorted it. Been with them for a few months now after years with Vodafail. Each to their own but I'm happy with lower call costs and good reception.

    • Yep…. I can also vouch for their customer service…. (touch wood)

Both times I've had to ring them I found their staff really helpful

Coles/Bi-Lo also have 20% off Amaysim recharge cards till the 17th. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/61410

    • Thanks for that. I think the Coles one offer is only for 'recharge', but this one sounds like it can be used for 'recharge' or 'broadband voucher'.

  • Just a heads up, just got a call from DSE saying there was a problem reported something about maybe the activation number he wasn't sure on the specifics but to call them if there are dramas… Hopefully there won't be any problems!

    • I got an email…

Unfortunately there has been a technical problem with organising the $100 recharge. To ensure your receive your $100 credit
      • Activate your SIM by following the instructions on the SIM pack
      • Contact us at Dick Smith via email or call 1300 366 644, advise SIM is activated and provide us with your new phone number.
      • We will then contact AMAYSIM with relevant information and request them to load $100 credit to your account.

      • Yep got that today as well. No big issue if it all works in the end I'm happy to rattle off the details to save 20% (although in hindsight Amaysim are already doing 20% off so maybe that would have been 'better', but too late).

The only thing that gets up my goat is that its taken 3-4 working days to ship out (don't need it until Feb so no issue for me).

        • Hit a snag. I was intending to use the recharge on an existing account. tried that, both dick smith and amaysim say that its sold as a pack and can only be loaded onto the sim that came with it. There was no mention on the dick smith site that they have to be used together. I can't double check as the page has disappeared. Dick smith sells the $100 recharge as a separate product but they're not willing to give that to me separately.

I should've just bought the 20% off recharge from coles. I now have a simpack and $100 "recharge" I have no use for. Anyone have any ideas?

        • both dick smith and amaysim say that its sold as a pack and can only be loaded onto the sim that came with it.

Aaargh that sucks! I'm so sorry to hear that. There was no mention of that on the product page at all!

  • Call DSE and say wtf?

  • Also just noticed, mine has an expiry of 31/1/12 so make sure you activate it soon.

EDIT: Also note there was no voucher in the package at all, so you must keep on top of DSE to come through with it.
