Did you not post the same deal 4 days ago with the same code?

If you look closely, one of these things is not like the other

      • Bloo , its the same code, it applies to all the same devices. He just listed another laptop that applies under the same code.
        Yes, they have different CPUs.

Its the same code, same deal.

My downvote is with the same reasoning as in the previous post.

Price on the last deal has gone up so that’s now expired. Someone looking for an alternative might buy this. What you don’t realise is people posting deals (good or bad) creates reference points on prices in the future. Someone can search Ozbargain and decide if price they see in a month, 3 months, 6 months etc is good or not by comparing to what the item used to cost in the past.

Alienware M15 & M17, the Worst Cooling Design ever.

    • I heard the R3 and later models have significantly improved thermal design.
I have the R1 and it's pretty bad, needed to undervolt the CPU to prevent thermal throttling

Still pretty bad even after improved, especially compare to other same level gaming laptops

i have M15 R3, still bad design and I can attest to it…

        • That's a shame, does it still thermal throttle? With my m15 R1, I find that it's the CPU that suffers badly while GPU handles it ok.
What kind of spec's do you have?

@FireRunner: Running Warzone in not so open maps and it will stutter for 1-2 secs as it hits PROCHOT at 100 degrees… it is actually affecting gameplay instead of just simply being too hot or the fan being too noisy (which in fact is not annoyingly noisy)…

i had to use ThrottleStop to limit the turbo so it doesnt reach the PROCHOT at all times…

            • @meong: Might want to undervolt the CPU with ThrottleStop, that's what I use

              • @FireRunner: Did that to the max of what it could tolerate before BSOD (-.110 on core and -.100 on cache) but still didnt cut it to prevent PROCHOT.

Only a few games would hit it being Warzone is the worst offender. RDR2 also hit the PROCHOT but didnt create noticeable stutters. The stutter on Warzone was bad, like actual freeze instead of just fps drops.

                • @meong: Do you have a laptop cooler? Something like this can help quite a bit

                  • @FireRunner: Yup I do, doesnt help much, but the angle itself is the one that helps… Laptop coolers in general can only lower the temperature of maximum -1 to -2 degrees anyway…
