10105 + mobo for 199 beats it in price and performance.
Too bad that ended: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/616262
Unless you know of a new one…?
Same performance though, really, not better.
Yeah has gone but it was up for many days, sorry for who missed it =/
Might be better off with this $189 delivered (backorder) + add your own motherboard. The old i5 is only 6 threads.
Nah, series 10/11 CPU motherboards start at over a hundred bucks, so total is well over $300.
Something like 2% better game performance for 20% more money.
10 series is fine if you have a mid-range budget, but this is a great way to get almost the same thing for low budget. 6 cores will be fine for a few more gens yet.
Adding a motherboard like this https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MSI-B460M-A-PRO-mATX-Gaming-Moth... will only bring it up to $305, just $35 more for double the threads. It's up to you whether it's worth it or not but I would definitely go for it. There are some games and applications that can benefit or those that want background applications running while gaming.
double the threads
double the threads
Yeah that's about $45 more, which isn't much of a total budget.
Still.. 6 cores 6 threads vs 6 cores 12 threads actually doesn't make too much real-world difference in actual benchmarks. Definitely better, but $45 is significant in the low-budget segment.
lack of graphics on chip ups the price by the time you add graphics for a base build …
Yeah normally this wouldn't matter much for gaming or mixed-use PCs, but with the crazy GPU shortage, using integrated graphics for a while might be a viable strategy, on a budget, even for gamers.
Do they have a similar bundle but with mATX motherboard? Looking specifically for this size.
atx is so 2000
I guess that's the reason why they're clearing away the ATX motherboard…
