          • @OZTechGuy: The will ask for money?

            • @spy: Quiet confusing I went to this optus site

Https://Secure-unlock.com.au/ou/launch and provide d the IMEI of the Oppo A72 and the message I received is the device not locked to optus.

I assume it may have been restricted by Oppo, may be need to contact Oppo to get the code

            • +1

@spy: Nah, if you have an optus number it will be handy as they ask for that and your name (otherwise just try with no optus number). Tell them you tried the optus unlock site and it says its unlocked, so you just need the code. Just be patient with them, as they arent very good at what they do

        • Same
          Tried Belong and same message

      • Tried a Kogan(Voda) sim in my A72 and connected ok. Must be hit and miss?
Optus check of the imei said it was not locked.

        • Hey, xylowap. What was the expiry date on the one you purchased?

    • +1

Run updates and it'll be locked again.

  • Is it possible to get a11 or oppo 72 near plenty valley or northland? Shows out of stock online . Thanks.

    • Best to call your local early 2mrw morning to check stock levels, they should also be able to check other stores stock lvls for you.

  • got the moto g8 for $75 and samsung A21s for $85 as a kids gift and paid with Afterpay card to get another $20 off. haven't opened them shall wait a bit to see if prices drop first so i can return one or both. will i lose the $20 afterpay discount if i return a phone unopened even though i spent more than $100 with other goods? Is the G8 micro usb and the A21s has only 3GB ram , 32gb storage no NFC ? Now regretting that i didn't get the Realme C3 which maybe is a better all round performer and more snappy?

  • just bought oppo A72 for 100$ from target northland victoria. There's still 3 more left.

    • Ye, best to call, dont trust the online stock checker

    • Grabbed the last 2, was a mission to get them put aside. Still some c3's there.

  • Anyone tried entering the hidden service menu of the Realme to see if you can enable other carriers? I suspect the phone supports it, just not enabled.

    • This is for OPPO but realme is made by same company and same tool also works on realme:

      https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/oppo-a52-a72-a92-android-…

      • "Download the rom from provided link to the phone and install through recovery mode"

Does this mean you copy the rom on to your phone, then hold power + up volume (or something like that) to get to the android menu, and then chose your rom to install from there?

  • For the people who got A72 don't forget to enable performance mode from battery settings to allow phone to work on full speed

  • Thanks op, got the second last oppo a72 from Pakenham (Melbourne)!

  • I also found instore a 2m cygnet usb a to c cable that supports up to 60w fast charging. Also had 10000mah cygnet portable charger for $15.

    • +1

There's no USB-A chargers in existence that can provide 60W so while it claims it can do it reality most certainly disagrees.

  • Bought a Realme C3 from Target Indoorpoly. They still had 2 red ones left. Works with Circles.Life reseller. Has 2 Sim slots, but seems to be disabled? Is it possible to flash custom firmware to get rid of Optus limitations?

    • Posted few minutes earlier, same tool works for both Oppo and realme as it's two brands of the same company but I could not find any realme c3 success stories yet.

    • Is your sim 2 working??? my sim 2 doesnt work even with Optus network

  • Want to buy a Moto G8 lite as backup phone today, but found the OPPO A72 is in clearance also. $100, 665, 4G, 128G, B28, NFC, perfect as the main phone.

    • where? has anyone tried to price match big w or kmart?

  • +2

    Ordered a C3 yesterday morning… still processing.

    • Me too. Ordered on 22nd.

      • +1

        Hope it doesn't get cancelled.

  • Glendale NSW 2285 have Realme C3's and Oppo A72's plus others as of 1.30pm 24/4. Their online stock shows nil so best to call.

  • So the A72 is a better deal than the C3? (I sim swap through all networks). My local target has both even though online says sold out.

    • +1

Got one of each. The C3 is a brilliant phone but the A72 is miles better but the sim tray has the second sim hole blocked.
For the $25 difference go the A72.
I tried a Voda/Kogan sim in both and the A72 recognised it no problem but the C3 just said it is network locked.
Not saying all the A72's are unlocked, I may have been lucky.
You can do a side by side comparison of the phone specs on many sites… google it .. :-)

      • +1

        My a72 locked.

        • +1

Mine updated the os and then became locked. :-(

  • They also have a Oppo ax5s for $75? Looks like no NFC…got the A72

This plus 3 x Realme c3s in red , blue and black at Target Marion, SA.

  • can someone confirm if the specs for the Optus a21s are the same as the unlocked A21s sold at Target? Big W and HN unlocked A21s specs are different . much better 6gb ram and 128 ROM.

  • i had a cashrewards offer spend $20 get $5 that ended last night and an Afterpay referral credit of $30 and the target newsletter credit $10 so i added my flybuys number and combined all offers to order online the Realme C3. It should come down to under $20 after all the discounts and cashback. hopefully they will have stock and ill be able to collect it instore and order wont get cancelled. Now have to decide which out of the 3 purchased this week has the best specs and overall performance? Would it be correct to rank in this order : first place C3, A21s and in last place Moto G8 power lite?

  • Got the oppo a72 and got a notification to upgrade to Android 11 (Color OS 11.1); For a $100 405ppi 6.5in screen 128 gb storage snapdragon soc and now Android 11 I’m very impressed!

Yeah, it takes you to the same site mentioned below:

Doesn't work and its just an endless loop of surveys

I also tried to use the unlock code generator for the realme c3 which is mentioned here
      https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/oppo-a52-a72-a92-android-…

I managed to successfully generate an unlock code, but it appears to only.. make the phone pass decryptassistant (realme c3's menu is accessible by typing in *#9434#)
If you want to use the Unlock Tool thingo, you need to disable almost all network adapters, apart from the "Microsoft KM-TEST Loopback Adapter" and your WiFi - the unlock tool NEEDS internet to handshake with some Oppo server apparently

I managed to change my optus realme c3's region to "Multilingual Version Ex" and the Optus Realme c3 wouldn't accept a Kogan sim card (keeps asking for unlock code) and also I couldn't use the realme c3's DeepTest apk (which is their official bootloader unlocker tool after enabling developer options>OEM unlock) as it keeps returning "This is a carrier-customized phone" even after changing region..

      • I have done that and was able to unlock the bootloader with the deep test apk. I tried a lot of the apks online through many sites and one finally work (the phone was wiped since I was able to root it so I won't be able to help you with the apk file). Did you try the other sim tray to see if it works with other networks?

I haven't tried using other sims in it so I can't vouch that it will work outside Optus network but at least I got it rooted. I also bootlooped my phone when I tried to follow people who post their guides on xda on how to root with TWRP. Youtube saved my phone from that bootloop and helped me root it as well (and went the easy way which is not with TWRP). Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYRY_jRTSNI and he also has the link to fix if you do bootloop your phone and can vouch it works.

All good, I gave up on working on the realme c3 and offloaded to an older family member already.

Did you try the other sim tray to see if it works with other networks?

Nope, I managed to change regions, but the deeptest APK kept rejecting the phone

I have done that and was able to unlock the bootloader with the deep test apk.

Was yours an Optus Realme C3 or a JBhifi-sourced realme c3?

          • +1

@cwongtech: It's the Optus one I bought from this deal. Got it for $65 with the $10 off voucher.

I had 10 different apks of the deep test. All had the same size and version but only one installed. Either I was lucky or there had to be some time elapsed before it works? Really not sure but was glad that it finally worked when it did.

If anyone asks, I don't know if the unlock I did actually worked. I just needed a rooted phone even without Sim so I haven't tried any Sim.

              Nicely done

Yeah, I think I found the official link for realme c3 (the indian link was available but no longer worked)
              https://download.c.realme.com/flash/Unlock_tool/DeepTest_rea…

First deeptest apk I had was for all models, that didn't want to install, and the second deeptest was for a realme c3, but from some mediafire link

Too bad I've already offloaded the phone, otherwise I would have been very keen to try again!

@cwongtech: I would have downloaded from a mediafire link.

                Yes, chopper! haha

My old samsung tab A is dying (battery just dies at 50%) and it's time to retire that.

                • @TheTaxMan: Done the drain to zero, leave , turn on again..repeat x 3, then charge fully. Leave for a few hours, charge again?

Ali express do cheap batteries as well and have been 80% as good as the originals for me.

                  • @tunzafun001: Yeah it's an old tab, like from 2016/17.

It was also extremely slow even after factory resets and with a custom lineage rom. I guess phones are just getting faster and faster and all the old ones feel slow. I remember when the tab was one of the fast ones in its day.

  • has anyone tried this mob and had success unlocking via https://www.unlock-code-store.com/index.php
their A21s or Motorola Phone model Moto G8 Power Lite Locked to Optus for $5.99 each?

  • Moto g8 power lite or oppo a72? Battery life is very important.

    • +1

They both have 5000mAh battery but I'd go the Oppo A72 it has Fast charging 18W, plus it's USB Type-C 2.0

    • +1

I got the Moto g8 power lite for my kid and my kid said the camera is absolutely rubbish. I will be selling it.

  • +1

    Nightmare to unlock.

  • Anyone found a way to unlock the REALME c3 for cheap??

  • if anyone has tried buying $50 worth of cheap sim starter packs along with the $30 pack that came with the phone then porting their original number in and out to get a free unlock from optus please report and confirm here?

    • +1

      following

  • +2

optus $50 sim packs are currently only $25 via 7/11 app if anyone wants to give it go?.

    • Looking for cheaper than $25 because after 6 months you can get it for spending $25 anyways

      • Just call up, or fill in the form. I got a free unlock on the Alcatel a few years back and never recharged with Optus in my life (only starter packs). But they said the phone was older than 6 months (i had just bought it, but it was manufactured 7 months prior) and apparently I made the eligible spend. 3 days later, some time during the night I got the unlock code via SMS.

        • +1

How much was the eligible spend again $80 yeah?? So you ported your number 3 times yeah 3×$30 kits

          • @USER DC: I must of… I didn't consciously do anything. So submit the form, nothing to lose.

            • +1

@tunzafun001: i activated the sim pack that came with my A21s and linked the number into my old disused optus my account logged in and chatted to a optus rep told them i get an error on their unlock website saying my phone IMEI is unlocked. they sent me two unlock codes one is a master code about 10 days later free. i only used the first code and it worked. if anyone wants to try the master code and have a A21s just PM me. Now i just have to activate the other two sim packs and link them to my optus account and then try my luck in unlocking the C3 and moto g8 powerlite.

  • Anyone with realme C3 from target, can you tell please if you SIM 2 slot works???

I got my phone today delivered, my sim 2 slot doesnt work regardless of optus or some other network, not the best phone honestly have so much trouble with even gestures

    • +1

Found in the t&c right down the bottom

"Network Compatibility: Handset has been modified to be optimised for the Optus network and performance on other networks is not guaranteed. Handset has also been modified to have its dual SIM capability removed and it is a single SIM device. Please refer to the Specifications section for specific network compatibility."

      https://www.optus.com.au/prepaid/phones/realme/c3

      • +1

Thank you i thought it was dual sim still because target didn't say anything about this

  • Why does Optus unlock page say this

    Error
This mobile device is not a locked Optus prepaid mobile device.

Click here to return to the beginning.

I have not activated the sim that came with the device itself. Have still been using coles mobile only

Which also is only seems to work on sim 1

    • They have disabled sim 2.
The online unlock tool is also useless and misleading.

  • anyone wondering about how to enter unlock code, or IMEI number
you must use the realme PHONE APP not the GOOGLE PHONE APP

    • Hi mate, I saw your question before the edit. You are going to hate this, but the IMEI is also printed on top of the box!
As for entering the unlock code, place a different carrier sim card, in and I ALWAYS put it in flight mode, then restart.
Many times the unlock code fails when not in flight mode (no idea why, just works).

      • Thanks but didn't work for me. Got the code from Optus itself for FREE though

If anyone has managed to unlock one of these, can they please share how they were able to using the Optus unlock code??
Like wifi on off, airplane mode on/off, Must have a sim in the device or no, must have an optus sim in device, must have non optus sim in device, or like how ???

        • +1

          Try this

The unlock process will work with or without a SIM card in the phone. Make sure you followed these steps to unlock:

          1. Ensure the device is connected to internet via Wi-Fi.

          2. On the number pad, dial *#475838912# to open the Unlock Window and press “Ignore”.

          3. Enter the 16-digit unlocking code in exact form and once complete, press “Unlock”.

          4. If unlock code is correct, device will display “Unlock Successful” and device will reboot automatically.

          source

          • @chadiwrx: Tried the same procedure but did not work

Lol the Optus team itself is giving me Capital i(I) or lowercase L (l). But tried all instructions told by optus technical team still didnt work

Although the instructions are for oppo phone realme is a little different but similar i guess

            • +1

@USER DC: Update Optus gave the wrong code told me it was small L instead of the capital i. But sent the phone to Realme Support centre in the Melbourne for Free of cost.

Express postage to them sent yesterday, received by Realme today, Unlocked today, they said to ship it back to me today or by tomorrow. Realme had to pay 2x Postage charges for such a simple thing, they should charge Optus for misspelling the unlock code. I paid nothing to them.

I had already like confirmed with Optus if both characters were small L or capital i like 10 times, they kept saying it both small to be L.

Just hoping they ship the phone back to me the same way i sent them (WHICH WAS INCLUDING EVERYTHING, OPTUS SIM, PLASTIC WRAPPING, CABLE, CHARGER ETC and what not.

          • +1

@chadiwrx: if unlock code incorrect device will display "Unlock Failed"

  • can anyone confirm if the Optus target a21s phone has wireless charging or not? google suggests so but it doesn't work for me so i suspect its the more expensive or overseas models do. also has anyone tried to cut out the plastic filled in the dual sim slot holder with a stanely blade to see it the second sim slot is detected or works?

    • +1

I have seen those blanked out trays on other phones an cutting them out dors not work.
You need to buy another sim tray.
Even then there is no guarantee it will work.
If the phone setup/about phone only shows one imei then you are out of luck.

      • +1

        Always wondered about this. Thanks!

  • can anyone confirm updating a72 causes it to get locked?

      see this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/618583?page=1#comment-1037…
the reply to this comment from @xywolap confirm the updates causing it to locked

    • Mine got locked I didn't even update the phone, the update got downloaded however,

There was no way to not download the update.
It's just so annoying BLOODY OPPO software.

Other than by turning of internet which is kinda necessary

      • I think it downloaded on mine too. But I told my mum to stay away for installing it for at least 6 months.

      • You've got the unlock code though yeah?

        • No not for OPPO a72 Optus is pretty sh*t yeah.keeps asking for paying $80
Just bought 2 $30 sim kits for $6 would use that to get the unlock code

          • @USER DC: Care to share where from?

            2 $30 sim kits for $6

            • +1

@chadiwrx: it was facebook marketplace sims were expiring like within a couple weeks, so he sold them quickly

  • 7 Realme C3's @$75 in stock at Target Garden City NSW 2289 today 8/5 in case anyone in the area is looking for one.
