FYI I went with the previous deal on the clearance R11, but the extra
'2 years of Premium Support and Onsite Service for $223.56' was appealing.

This deal with the extra warranty added is $3,535.77 via website with LOVEKEANU code.

However I spoke to customer service and they added the LOVEKEANU code and an extra discount bringing it to $3,493.50 delivered.

        • thanks for sharing. debating if it's worth the hassle for the newer CPU which has debatable improvements, but potentially could get the white chassis i wanted… would need to cancel and reorder to avoid bungling up cashrewards.

  • I mean the monitor is shit but appears to be worth something to sell anyway which is neat.

    • if you can sell the monitor for 400, you get a free keyboard, mouse, headset and extra 1tb of storage, and slightly upgraded cpu

    • You could just pay $450 to upgrade it to the QHD version. I personally only game in QHD now.

      • Get negged for anything here. Yep already have a qhd monitor so that's why I was looking to part it out and surprised it had as much value as it did

        • Yeah surprised too. But I guess lots of CS:GO players out there wanting them high frame rates.

    WARNING!!!

If you buy anything Alienware you will need to install AW Control/Command Center (it's that bad they can't even name it consistently) to control lights/fans/macros/sound.
AWCC is possibly the worst SW ever created.
It's 750Mb of pure trash, which then needs to spend hours or even days or might never download addition device components… and while it's trying to download or update or install you can't use it. And it might work fine initially, then break and the only way to recover is a full Windows reinstall.

Did I mention the services it installs and the memory/cpu usage?

    • My experience with AWCC isn't too bad. There's this weird "Alienware OC" control thing that sometimes asks to be installed but I can't overclock on a laptop so it asks to be uninstalled after but I just left it installed so it won't ask again.
Either than that it works as expected

  • Say in the future, I want to take everything to a new case and upgrade the motherboard/cpu only, is everything else reusable?

    • +1

CPU/Memory/Drives and maybe the GPU… the memory is JEDEC and slow.

      • Why wouldn't the GPU be reusable?

        • Sometimes Dell like to screw you w/ the PSU connector.

  • Does Unidays discount work with this?

    • Unidays codes would negate the $1800 discount on the total package. I just cancelled my R12 for this that I had used a Uniday code on when I couldn't stack discounts on the R11 sale about 4 weeks ago.

  • My shipping date is June 26th and Delivery is 9th of July, I live in metro Melbourne.

Ask for help, I bought the same one in eBay dell on May 4th last month, but it hasn't arrived yet. It cost more than $3700 and didn't send a monitor and other parts . What should I do?

    • +1

      Cancel and re-order :)

      • +2

Don't cancel unless you want to go back to the end of the queue, What did they say when you called them? ;)

I did and they refunded the difference

  • +2

Missed out last time but not this time. Ty op. July 12 shipping date is a bit yikes though

  • Can't Cancel my R11 until Monday (no customer service over the weekends). Order this now and cancel on Monday or wait until Monday?

    • actually …. go to the main dell website and click the chat box that comes out from the side …

i was able to cancel my existing order i placed a couple of days ago (did it around lunchtime on saturday) …. i got refunded within like 30 minutes …. NFI how they did that sooooo quick … ive never ever seen a refund back to my bank account that quick … EVER! and my bank doesnt have osko setup as its a prepaid debit mastercard … so yeh i have no idea how they did it

give it a try tomorrow ;)

      • The option is greyed out for me, seems ill have to wait til Monday

        • do it from the main dell.com.au website …. i just tried it and it worked :)

don't do it from the order screen

          • @CereaL: They wouldnt cancel my order. They would let me upgrade, but then id lose cashrewards.

            • @dmcneice: send me a private msg and i'll give you the contact of the person who helped me out ….
i tried to msg you but you have private msgs turned off

            • @dmcneice: What did they offer to upgrade? I'm also worried about losing $180 worth of CR!

              • @jace88: They didnt offer anything, I could pay the difference to upgrade. I just cancelled this morning and reordered.

                • @dmcneice: Cheers. I am happy with cancelling and ordering fresh to ensure I don't lose CR on the new system. The CPU upgrade sounds a bit hit or miss in terms of whether it's worth it but I'm happy I was able to get the white case.

for people who interested to know

I ordered an r12 back in 18/04/2021 and it entered production today.

    • With a 3080? Good to know, thanks!

What was your original planned shipped date?

I ordered on 25/4 for r12 3080 and I’ve not hit production yet.

    • This is what I don't understand. I ordered the R12 on the 11/4 and still no update, rep told me that there was no ETA. How would yours be in production ahead of mine if you ordered a week later?

      • I was told it was an error and my order is indeed still on hold until 14/05

    • Damn, I assume the 3080's just arrived.

  • Did anyone get the extra warranty? How good is dell with ACL for something that happens in 4 years?

  • I bought the 3090 version with a stronger CPU, more ram, more SSD
I am not sure but it seems very expensive compared to this. I don't do anything heavy other than gaming and retouch some videos for Facebook.

Assume I sell the extra at discount, both options reflect their value as if the graphic cards are at MSRP.

  • got shipping date of 17th june delivered 30th

    wow…

  • Reading reviews of the 11700KF, I'm not sure if it's necessarily a clear upgrade over the 10700KF/10700K in tasks outside of AI/ML. Seems to be a dead heat between javascript rendering or launching Office apps, but it does do quite a bit better in say hashing/encryption activities.

… so is it worth cancelling and starting over waiting (current order estimated to arrive 21/6/21), knowing it could also land me with a nerfed 3080. Hmm.

    UPDATE
Decided to cancel. For <$100 difference but getting an 11th gen over 10th gen, seemed like it might just add that little bit more longetivity to it all.

    • CR tracked at $181.52

      • What do you think of the 3 year warranty for $200?

        • I didn't go for it. I figured warranty/ACL will protect me if there's any major issues after the 1st year, and it isn't my sole PC so I'm not dependent on NBD service/support.

That being said, Dell/Alienware's NBD onsite service is a good to have if you are someone who might benefit from it.

Also note, for an order on 10/5 at about noon, ETA Jul 9, 2021

  • Anyone know if this can be upgraded to include watercooling?

    • +1

if you are talking about aio CPU cooling, it is included.

  • Code was working at noon, but now no longer working. Anyone else having the same? Will contact Dell Support tomorrow.

    • +1

yep, looks like LOVEKEANU has entered the Matrix

  • No luck for me with the code

    • Looks like it's game over.

"This is a valid coupon code, but there are no matching items currently in your cart."

  • Deal is back up on Dell website

    • Coupon code for LOVEKEANU still doesn't work. Just tried.

  • +1

Got my screen today from my order submitted Friday via Customer Service.

    • +1

They shipped the monitor before the PC?

      • Yeah, Customer Service offered priority shipping if I recall, guess they applied it directly to monitor and shipped early. They sent 2 order numbers 1 for PC and 1 for monitor, so that may also have something to do with it. Nice screen, easy to put together, good image, better than the old AOC I had from the looks of it.

        • Ah interesting… I'm in two minds about keeping the monitor. It looks good, but just seems a bit pointless to have a 1080p 240Hz monitor on an RTX 3080. Debating to sell it and just buy a 1440p panel.

          • @jace88: Yeah I'm looking at 27" maybe up to 34" monitors at the moment. 27" is probably good for my desk size. Not sure what's good tho haha.

Does anyone know if you can add a second video card to this for mining?

    • Check the responses to the last time you asked this question on the R11 (which is fundamentally the same as the R12).

      • OK thanks. was wondering if the R12 was any different in form factor.

  • Given the NVIDIA announcement that the cards being shipped from them late May will feature the limited hash rate, should we read that to mean as long as the build is already completed prior to late May, they should be still have the original unlimited cards? I can only assume they don't differentiate between AIB partners whether it be EVGA or Dell/etc.

    https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2021/05/18/lhr/?ncid=afm-chs-4…

As for those who ordered this deal, at least for me, my R12 isn't scheduled to ship until late June with delivery in second week of July. Question is when does is enter the build phase.

    • Yeh I just read this too. I'll be pissed if I get an inferior product, given I purchased the deal before the announcement…

      • +1

My PC hasn't got to the build stage so there's a chance the "new" GPUs are included. Even if I don't plan to hardcore mine, the reality is it impacts future resale value of the PC/GPU.

        • +1

Agree. My point exactly. They were advertised as gtx 3080s, not gtx 3080 lhr, which is what nvidia states they will be doing.

          • @dmcneice: I have a bad feeling about this. Can't PM you as you haven't enabled messaging.

            • @jace88: If it turns up LHR, just send it back for a refund. Hard to argue for a restock fee if the gpu is different

              • @PlagueistheCheap: It's still a hassle to do all of that… and it's also my wife's anniversary gift to me so if this isn't going to work out, she doesn't want to be empty handed on the day!

                • @jace88: Can I be your wife too :)

                  • +1

@Feeblely: You want to give me an Alienware PC too? Nice…. but what's the catch? (duh it's me).

          • +1

@dmcneice: What's interesting is that Dell still hasnt updated their website to say LHR models or not like they did with the Ti models … so maybe the ones they will be receiving will be non-LHR.

Looking at the Packing Slip, it says:
            NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB GDDR6X Part: 490-BGKM

            I hate the waiting game …. :(

    • +2

If it helps, I raised a support ticket to have this question answered (also waiting on a R12 order, shipping late June). I was assured that all the builds in the backlog are getting non-LHR 3080s

      • In their words they don't believe it will be LHR based on the current stock…. but it didn't seem very definitive to me, and I'm thinking of just cancelling anyway.

        • I will just wait for it to arrive, if it is LHR return it back. Shall receive full refund, because the is a major difference between non-LHR and LHR card.

          • @couger: what about the monitor? or did you not unbox it ?

            • @CereaL: I haven't received anything yet, not even the monitor… let us know if it is LHR. Problem is GPU are going up in price regardless :(

              • @Eskeee: i received my monitor within a couple of days of placing my order …. i would double check to see what is happening if i was you …

the actual computer isn't destined to ship until the end of June :(

                • @CereaL: yeah will call them tomorrow, mine says shipping eta is June 26th and arriving 9th july

  • Anyone else see the advertising of the new RTX 3080 Ti models which seem to be better spec than the existing 3080's?

From what I read it's going to have better stock availability than the 3080's…

Wonder if we'll be upgraded to this if it's easier to obtain :D

    • but at what price. given 3080 selling at around $3000 most places, 3080ti maybe at $3500, even dell's will be at least $400 more.

  • Anyone had their R12 3080 hit production yet? Mine is still just “confirmed”. Expected ship date was a few days ago.

    • Seems I spoke too soon.

Just got an email from Dell advising my new ETA is SEPTEMBER 2nd.

      Lol. What.

      • wtf ?

      • Wtf lol. When did you order and what color/configuration? I got an email regarding delays too, but is going to be shipped from factory 14th June.

        • I ordered April 26.

          White R12 non-K i7 watercooled 16GB 512gb/1Tb with a 3080.

          What did you order?

          • +1

@AaronR: That sucks. But one thing I have learned with dell. Orderss don't seem to be processed in the sequence they are made. Ie someone who ordered a system a week after you can still get their system before you.

I ordered May 4 (before this deal was posted) and still have the 'about to enter production' comment on my order. Expected ship date June 16.

          • +1

@AaronR: Just hit entering production today

            • @PlagueistheCheap: Wow really? What colour/cpu/cooling/etc did you order?

Mine is still showing just Confirmed.

              • @AaronR: Lunar light, 11700k liquid cooling 3080

                • @PlagueistheCheap: Bad words just came out of my mouth.

Well, let’s see when mine ships!

                  • @AaronR: Just finished build heading to sorting centre. So looks like it heading out.

I don't know what to say. I do feel for you, it's just not fair. As I commented last week, dell doesn't seem to have a proper queue. Just batches and sometimes you get lucky.

      • Wow

      • i'd be getting in contact and going WTF to them ….

maybe you have a really weird configuration …

      • +1

I received communication from customer support that the package is pending on GPU stock, which had an ETA of 8th/Jun but now pushed to 17th. Guess no one will get to production until then.

  • I was told they will give me Hashrate for RTX 3080 is 98 MH/s- one. Told them will cancel if I receive less than that. They emailed me so I have evidence. I asked about shipping saying I should receive mine 9th-12 July
