Nice deal rep. It's been many moons since OzBargain drooled at the sight of bargain Eneloops, gone are the days of good ol dickies deals

Would be a rechargeable battery post without a good old nostalgia comment for back in the good ol days

When I was a little kid Dick Smith was my absolute favourite store, I loved them, I'd nag my parents to visit the store, every time we drove near a store or past a store I'd nag my parents to visit it.
My first electronics kit from Dick Smith was basically a continuity checker, I got it for my 7th birthday, I loved it. As I learnt more I wanted more advanced kits, and so I saved up my pocket money, $20 whole dollars (parents were poor and had a huge amount of debt at the time - my pocket money was about 50¢ to a dollar a week). I was going to buy a kit that I could make about 10-20 devices from. When we arrived at the store I ran to and grabbed the kit, I was going to buy it, but to my shock my parents didn't think it was very good value and so they bought me the Fun Way into Electronics 1 kit that costed $60 as an early birthday present. I was in love, I read the included electronics book from front to back and back to front so many times, I built so many devices, I loved it. Electronics grew on me, I started to look into more advanced electronics, I discovered it was possible to buy the parts to build a computer and so I then discovered IT. There was this book store (can't remember the name) in Adelaide, it was just east of the CBD, the book store was adjoined with a ABC book store, at this book store I discovered the biggest computer book section that I had ever seen in a book shop, here I found my Bible Upgrading and Repairing PCs 18th edition by Scott Mueller. I read that book from front to back to back to front at least a dozen times, reading up until 4am in the morning, parents would even order me to go outside and play with my siblings, and to play video games with my siblings, but I didn't want to. I think my longest reading session without a break (except to quickly stuff down my lunch and dinner) was 15 hours. I dreamt of IT, of building a computer. In 2013 (or 2014?) I built my first computer a Intel Haswell i7 PC!!!
Dick Smith will always have a special place in my heart ❤️

  • Anyone recommend a good charger for these?

  • Why the capacity of AA is 1900 rather 2000 ?

      • I just want to buy 1x 8xAAA instead of 2x… the item is still showing out of stock, can you please enable it again?

        thanks

  • Still keen for these, Panasonic Eneloop AAA Rechargeable NiMH Batteries 8-Pack - BK-4MCCE/8BE

    Upvote for eneloop

  • I thought I read these are the same as the Ikea Ladda's, has anyone confirmed this and do these Eneloops charge in the Ikea Tjugo?

    • I use this charger with Eneloop AA Pros. I intend to use it with the AAA batteries I have ordered from this deal as well.

  • Looks to be $23.80 at Catch for 8 AA. Are these the same?
