[NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD, SA] Devondale Unsalted Butter 500g $4.00 @ Woolworths Online (Select Stores)

870

First post :-)
Looks the product dropped by $2 further from the drop last Wednesday (19 May ) when it was $6.
Ordered few of them without noticing the drop.
(and they ended up being substituted with Westar Unsalted Butter 500g)
Not sure whether the same offer is available in-store.

@Mod, please correct any mistakes or remove if already posted.
Thanks.

Could this be store specific as it's $6.50 for me online?

    • Sorry for that @imissbeans.
Maybe mods can remove the post.
Took a screenshot in Incongnito without setting Delivery address. Maybe Woolworths uses my location

      • It's such a great price, I would stock up at that price!

    • I'm seeing $4 on my side, Burwood 3125 area

      • Did you login to your Woolies account?

  • I was like that’s normal price! But then realised it’s for the 500g… I already have quite a bit of butter at home though.

You can always buy some more, heat and it turns into clarified butter (ghee) and use it for longer time….

      • Yeah but unfortunately this seems location based as it doesnt show as $4 at my local WW haha.

Butter lasts well beyond the "expiry" date

          Can also freeze butter

  • Shows $4 for me - Melbourne. Thanks!

  • $4 online in Brisbane!

  • Shows $4 in SA. If I go to Woolies I'll pick some up, $1 cheaper than my usual butter from Aldi and supposedly comparable in quality. Cheers OP.

In Melbourne and showing $6.50. The same in incognito mode

  • $4 online in Canberra!

  • Ashwood and Middle Camberwell showing $4 . Great to make microwave lemon butter at that price.

  • Shows $4 but once you login to the Woolworths account, the price changes to $6.50 (at least for me in Melbourne).

So good to see so many butter lovers here buying healthy fat and falling for the trans fat crap sold everywhere.
    Btw good deal too.

  • How does this compare to ALDI 500g? Isn't theirs $3.50?

    • +1

Aldi's butter is $5 I believe for 500g, and is rated pretty highly in some online comparisons I've looked at.

      • Thanks. The other I've used in the past is Western Star. How does that compare to Devondale?

          • @nepalesesquirrel: It's important to note that those ratings were not obtained through comparative taste tests. Canstar simply sent out a bunch of online surveys asking people about whatever butter they happened to use in the previous few months. There could be all sorts of factors affecting the results other than the actual quality of the products.

            • @PeterA07: Fair enough, i just use it as a guide. I shop at Aldi and use their butter all the time, seems ok to me!

ALDI Beautifully Butterfully was rated best for value for money and achieved five stars for packaging. It scored four stars everywhere else, including for overall satisfaction.

  • Didn't work in store, online showing $4, cs said need to order online.

Online goes to full price at checkout, will have to check more stores

Great deal if you can make it work.

  • Anyone in WA managed to get this to work at any stores? I'm just about out of clarified butter, so could definitely do with stocking up with a lot!

  • salted butter taste better

    • Try - if you're going to spread on toast, but for cooking/baking you want control.

  • Thanks. Great Aussie butter, ripper price.
Bankstown has it, and they replaced the 500g with 2x250g for click and collect still $400/500g.

  • Costco sell 3 packs of these. I thought they were around $10 (I'm probably wrong)… was the cheapest option at the time.

  • +1

Both salted and unsalted 500g versions tagged as $4 in store (Brisbane).

  • Ordered online
2x500g blocks with best before 1/6/21 so got them refunded
Rest were substituted with devondale 250g blocks
