    I had a quick look at the site and it says $4.27 for 12 months. I haven't entered the code, but how long is the cert valid for? How is the $50 value calculated?

      The certificate is valid for 12 months. so at checkout just use the coupon for the full year free.

          If you click through to the site it shows the option as:

          I don't have a domain to get one for so can't see any further than that.

          yes this is totally correct.

          $49.99 divided by 12 months is:

          4.165833333333333
          and rounded off it is 4.17AUD.

          I think the way the site reads, it implies its $4.17 for 12 months in total, as opposed to per month - thus the confusion.

    fyi PositiveSSL certificates are under $10 for a year and you can get them free from Namecheap if you register a domain w/ them as well, but free is free :)
