    Thrustmaster ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Said the actress to the bishop

Duffman approves this product. Oh yeah!

    • +2

      I hardly know 'er!

  • Wow that didn’t take long (for Series S to drop), definitely $399 or possibly lower by Christmas, and/or a higher capacity HDD variant will be introduced alongside

    • +6

It amazes me it's happening, while it has generally been more available than the Series X/PS5, it's not like there have been shedloads of them available.

Considering it's cheaper than buying a used 1660 Super, tied to an xbox game pass it makes for a pretty decent gaming option at the moment.

      • +6

Generally, enthusiast isn't going to settle. The S is more for mum and dad buying a console for their kids. So it'll see more sales in the coming holidays.

        • +3

We got an S to tide over the time before the X was available. Whilst its a bit slower than the X, it is still a very very good device, especially over the previous generation. Now you can use it to play 2 player games with a single xbox pass.

        • +2

Having one console more available than competitor is smart when it comes to locking them in to digital sales which have a higher margin. I don't think MS is all that phased that it is the least popular of the 4 offerings by them and their competitor tbh

          • +1

@cute as duck: You're right. Phill spencer said that they expect the series S to be way more profitable in the long term. They also said that they don't consider sony as a competitor anymore, for they're going to focused on gamepass as the platform, not the consoles.

        • +1

Yes, that is generally the case. However, as an owner of a PS5 and not wanting to miss out on the MS/Bethesda exclusives, I did stump for a Series S (traded in a One S) as a backup machine. I wouldn't call it settling (sure, no 4K/120fps), but it plays great on 4K TV or on 1440 monitors, FPS boost has sporadic support and it is basically a really portable games machine for hotel/AirBNB stays (just a controller, cord and the Series S - not much larger than a chunky laptop).

Regularly getting $1 for 3 months Game Pass and xCloud makes it a really great sell too. Only thing I'm missing out on is deals for physical Xbox games.

      • -1

Just goes to show how spoilt the current gaming generation is, I want my ps5 ,3080 or nothing
When if you were half smart you would get this and game pass and play games just fine till situation improves
Half the ppl have small TVs anyway and wouldn't notice any difference to s X

    • Is $429 going to be the new rrp though?

I don't see $399 for Christmas, it could occur at any point in time, but what happens around Christmas is Xbox's bundled with games

      • you could sell the games and make it below 399
unless they only give a code

  • any details on this ? "Galaxy S10e 128GB/AGK Bundle"

can't see anything on the bigw website, or in the catalogue

  • +1

    dang. I bought a second hand s10e on Jan for $400 …

    • S10e great compact phone, which is why I went for this model. Got an American {Snapdragon} 8gb model off fleabay not long ago.

      • yup love the size!

      • +5

Xperia Compacts are compact. S10e is "the old normal" :P

        • +1

Yes agreed. Sony needs a newer compact tho. Had a z2 or something ages ago

    • +1

My guess is that these are also second hand or "manufacturer refurbished"

Samsung stopped making them in 2019.

  • Is ms flight simulator on gamepass yet?

If it is I’d be keen with that joystick.

    • It's on PC gamepass. Doesn't look like it's on console yet.

      • It's been rated on esrb though, so Xbox might be getting it soon.

        • +3

Rumoured to be announced at E3 next week.

  • So, how well does that master thrust? I need a stick.

    • that's what she said

  • Pretty good. Had one on pc gears ago and it was always the go to brand. I loved it.

  • Nintendo switch + 3000 points for $379

  • +2

Check your rewards app, there's also a 10x points on mine for big W, that would equate to another 4290 points on the Xbox ($21 worth).

    Probably targeted, but worth checking.

    • Ends 14/6/21 :(

      • According to my email the 10X points ends 14th of JULY, not June. However it's possible all the tech stuff doesn't fall into the categories applicable which are:

        Toys Boys
        Toys Games & Puzzles
        Toys Girls
        Toys Outdoor
        Toys Preschool
        Swim & Outdoor

    • Team members get 15x points .-.

  • Worth mentioning it says starts online 15/6 and in-store 17/6.

  • +1

im guna assume it's the crappy exynos variant

  • The Harry Potter chess looks cool

    • Not as cool as the Lego Harry Potter chess set however.

  • How the s10e is $499? It clearly says $699…

    • Did you look at the catalogue?

      • In 6 days… lol my bad

  • Re xbox can also stack with 5% off BigW gift cards through RACV and 0.5% Shopback on Electronics!

  • -5

Xbox series X is better. I wouldn't waste money on a Xbox series S.

  • I am going for the s10e, been wanting a one hand phone with good screen and reasonably fast processor, but I wonder if that's Exynos or SD?

  • Pity it's a 2 year old mobile and also only 4G, as well as having Exynos. Oh well. It might suit some, the price is pretty good in the catalogue and the bundled headphones help.

  • $2 minions toy for 500 points or $2.50 worth of rewards points, if you also join Woolworths contents insurance you get 10000 points and 5% off big w vouchers to buy the toys and if you have a 10% off each month for a shop that’s 40% off and how ever many $2 minions toys you feel like buying will keep the kids happy too

    • I think it's a misprint as clicking the online link for the $2 minion it doesnt say 500 bonus points. The others do show the bonus points (ie, the xbox ones)

  • Picked up the Series S Xbox this morning. Thanks for the tip!

All ready to use by discounted Coles Mastercard to buy Big W gift card to buy the Samsung S10e bundle…..and it has totally disappeared from the Big W website. It was there yesterday (I nearly bought until I realised I could save another 10+% with the Coles MC promo starting today).

    • Missing out for that reason is silly, unless of course you haven't got the luck and the funds to benefit attaining and using the Coles MC later.

It doesn't matter what you spend using Coles MC, your "win" on the GCs are only at the time of purchase, it costs you $93.50 less to get $1,250 worth of cards. Once you have them it is nothing more than another method of payment from your "assets", you can pay with cash, cards or any other method, but you don't get any further discounts beyond the initial time of purchase of the Coles MC. Holding the cards may have another opportunity loss and certainly the potential to buy less in the future due to CPI, but CPI is rather low at this time. Even at the effective 7.48% discount on the Coles MC, if you have a loan costing you more interest and you can pay that down, with reduced interest cost benefit and no penalty, then you'll save more doing that.

    • btw it is still there on the website right now?!

      • On the website but no stock, no delivery (for me)

        • In store at Fountain Gate, VIC, 3805. Lots of other stores too in VIC.

          • @affinity: None at Fountain Gate etc etc.
Was in two minds about it, the Y500 is worth about $100-150 but reviews mixed. Phone alone for $350 would be a bargain. Good phone.

            • @abacus: @abacus Yes, sorry, I thought you meant the Xbox….

And yes, I'm not so sure either way with the Y500, but they seem okay. I don't want the mobile, although it would have been a good option if it was the SD one.

              • @affinity: Sorry for confusion

                • @abacus: @abacus, yeah, I think my bad; some people want the Samsung bundle and others want the Xbox here… I obviously got off track on this mini sub thread all by myself.

  • Same with the Thrustmaster Flight. Must be sold out?

    • +1

Online it says sold out at most stores, but after calling around, many had 1-2 in stock

  • I wouldn't bother with the s10e phone. Online is unavailable saying that there will be stock on the 17th so I have called three stores and the head office and they all seemed confused saying must be a misprint or it's a discontinued

  • +1

Update- the s10e is now available but only online!
