  • Some Tab A’s are better than others.

Probably the cheapest 10” tablet unless you import the Amazon FireHD tablet which has Netflix/Prime… where the xiaomi/Lenovo or banggood / Kogan tablets may not have the proper WideVine DRM support.

@toliman I read the reviews on Amazon Fire HD and see It doesn't support GooglePlay, I'm wanting to get one for my parents mainly for YouTube, WhatsApp, web surfing ….

      Any recommendations?

This is probably better, more RAM, newer (meaning more updates), 4G, not for much more money ($264 outright)

Faster tablet but worse screen. And you need to buy a plan with it.

      • You can buy it outright, no need a plan.

        • +2

It states on the Telstra page linked: Outright purchases are only available with eligible plans.

        • Potential price match at Officeworks?

I bought these when they came out for the same price, there's 3 in my house. Very good budget tablets.

The window with new Samsung tablets is a month or two when they are first released when they are cheaper (probably roping in people for reviews), then they ramp up the price for Christmas and we rarely see that low price again until they are thinking about releasing new models.

    • They any good for Roblox?

      • My kids love playing Roblox on them. I've looked over their shoulders and watched or a while, seem to work just fine.

You put everything in the description EXCEPT the onboard RAM. Should be in the title for Android tablets.

      2GB

      • Yeah, my point was it should be clear in the title or description… people would kick off if you posted a phone without stating the RAM, not sure why it should be different for tabs.

They edited the post now to include, but it's one of the first things I look for.

One thing about this tab is it only has speakers on one side. So when watching a movie horizontally it sounds weird. Wish I knew this before I bought it. Also screen does not get very bright so can't use it outdoors/ car for kids

    • I thought the screen brightness was reasonably good for a budget tablet. From memory, the newer replacement (A7) is even dimmer.

      • I should say I wish the brightness was better :). I have a samsung TAB4 from like 6 yrs ago which has better brightness when used outdoors and dual speakers on each side but very slow and no space in memory(16GB internal)

  • 2 GB RAM only. It will be laggy. Need at least 3 GB or 4 GB.
