    • Hi Luke, was about to pull the trigger on this tonight and thought I had until the end of July considering the code. Will there be any other deals coming up for a similar build? Was hoping to order something for my brothers birthday in the last week of August. Thanks!

Is 3060 Ti appropriate for 1440p gaming at 100+ fps for a game like Apex legends?

    • +1

      yeah for sure

      • can it stable 190fps in apex (1080p)? during intense BR mode.

        • +1

brothers, its easy to find out
but yes mostly above 200fps on 1080p

    • +1

Can confirm, barely moves from my 155 cap at 1440p

    • My 2060 super is fine on 1440p @165hz but think the monitor helps (Dell S3220DGF), so that would kill it.

Ps good to see some reasonable prices, would be cheaper than buying the gfx cards alone almost at the moment ( or just get it for the card and sell with a lesser card)

A wild 3060 Ti has appeared!

  • which deal is better value, this or 10400F + RTX 3060 ?

    • +2

If you had to buy right now, this.

If not, wait it out a little longer.

      • +2

If you're always waiting longer for a better deal, you'll never end up with a new pc?

        • +1

Hence "if you had to buy right now"

        • Right now this is exceptionally the case due to gpu stuff.

3060ti, 3070 and 3070ti are all within 10% of each other (as they are all the same GA104 chip). 3060 is substantially slower and 3080 is substantially faster than this group (primarily because it is GA106 and GA102 chip respectively)

As a side note, this is why the 3080 is the best value card of this generation, because it is the lowest spec of the GA102 chip, the others being 3080Ti and 3090, so you get the full hardware upgrade from moving to GA102 chip from GA104, while only being a very minor hardware downgrade from the other GA102 cards (as only a small number of CUs are disabled between the GA102 cards) while also being substantially cheaper as it's not subject to Nvidia's much higher price segmentation within the same chip (compared to previous generations)

Ryzen 5 3600 available for $216-$220 during weekly sale
    Garbage motherboard
    Cheap brand memory
Just few days back paid $36 for Kingston 240GB
Again cheap brand RTX 3060 Ti
MSI Mag Forge 100R not a good built. You need extra RGB Fan if you want to light up. Got for $65 from eBay or Centre Com
Never heard of this power supply
Corsair 750W 80+ Gold modular very often available for $119
Or, Asus TUF Gaming 750W 80+ Bronze $79.99

Thanks for that and you have my upvote, but you do realize that every business will need to make money to survive, hence Techfast's choices of components and prices?

Can you build something better for something cheaper? For sure! But you do have to be on the lookout for different parts at exceptional prices, and grab them at the right moment, not to mention taking on the task of assembling the system yourself.

I think this is a really good deal for someone needing a PC right now for 1440p gaming.

      • +2

i am sure he realise this. More info is always welcomed in my book.

      • +4

someone needing a PC right now

        Then Techfast isnt the answer

        • I laughed but they were upfront about dispatch time so I was Ok. (purchased 3070 built couple of months back)

      • +1

        Sir, this is ozbargain

  • Hi Luke. This is a great deal but can you do intel variants for this one too? I was going to wait for rx 6600 xt's release but this deal is so tempting.

    • +2

      Most likely yep

Unobtanium is a perfectly cromulent word for this context.

    • +1

      I incribits.

    • I was talking about cromulent the other day, now recognised as a word.

I know you can read my thoughts boy….

  • any non lhr availability?

    • +1

Nup. Not being manufactured anymore by all indications.

  • Oh my 3060ti available! What would you suggest in terms of CPU this AMD or Intel for gaming/streaming at the same time? Is gonna be my first rig so I’m as noob as someone can be when it comes to PC desktop so your opinion would be greatly appreciated! :)

    • +4

The 3600 CPU will do the job just nicely - there will be no appreciable difference with an i5 10400F. 16GB 3200MHz RAM is already great for gaming/streaming, 32GB would give you more than enough now and in the future at higher resolution gaming/streaming. If you want the ability to upgrade your CPU in a couple of years/generations' time, invest in one of the B550 motherboard options for forwards-compatibility (B450 compatibility almost certainly ends with Ryzen 5000 series/Zen 3 CPUs while B550 will definitely work with whatever comes after 5000 series). You'll want more storage too - this starts with 240GB storage as many customers like to bring in their own, so we keep the price low with functional storage but for gaming and streaming consider an NVME SSD.

      • Thank you a ton you legend, you couldn’t have explained it better! Really appreciate your help.

    • I have a 3600 with my 2080, good pairing, suggest a better CPU cooler when it gets hotter.

  • Offt copped the 3060 deal a few months ago, this great deal just hurts

  • -4

Think you'd need mild head trauma to buy at these prices. Buy a console for a half of the price imo.

    • This is fine, 3060ti is a good GPU. Not an all time bargain, but not bad.

  • How soon do I have to order to make sure it comes before July 30th? Could be a good present

    • ASAP, and leave an order note.

  • Sitting here alone at a park. Waiting for my lukeinshiningtechfast: to post 3080 deal. You're Our Luke from shining tech fast

      🌟🐆

  • -1

Of course they are obtainable now. It's LHR crud that nobody wants above MSRP.

  • +1

LHR gpus will sell better in the second hand market in the future because as a buyer you’ll know it hasn’t been f*caked over mining. Amirite?

  • Hey Luke, do you guys ever do builds with AMD cards?

    • For the Ozb community we have found they only sell when they are either exceptionally sharp or wheb there is no viable NVIDIA alternative available. So, not often.

  • Hey Luke, I ordered the i5 10400F + RTX 3600 last Sunday. Can I switch my order to this one instead?

  • +1

Hey guys, I'm wondering whether it would be a good decision to switch over to the BIOSTAR B550M motherboard, or whether I should spend a bit more and get the Gigabyte or AMD B550M

Does anyone have any experience with BIOSTAR, preferably this motherboard in particular??

  • Is there performance and tdp difference between LHR and FHR for the same card? (3060 ti)

  • hi techfast, i have received order TF4640582631 but it came with CPU overheat to 108 degree then auto shutdown in BIOS, please advise ? i emailed [email protected] and [email protected] with no response, also no number to call as well ?

    • Hi, I can see your emails from this morning so will ensure you get a reply shortly to help you resolve this.

  • Hi, what is the size dimensions of the tower case?

  • Need to upgrade for video editing, and while this seems like the worst time to do so, given lockdown in Syd - it is what it is.

Lots of info on comparison of the build you're offering between cpu and RTX 3060 / 3070 etc, but can you inform me re differences for video editing (GPU CUDA driven, CPU speed/cores count a heap)?
    Does non-LHR affect this stuff?

Can I save any $ by dropping SSD, Ram, cheaper case?

    • Oh, and can we buy the RTX 3060 ti outright?

  • Any body who's bought a pc from techfast able to comment on the quality of components recieved? My friend reckons it'll all be the cheapest lowest grade quality of components.
