  • Basic Dell Wired Keyboard and mouse.

Looks like it is just keyboard?

    • +1

      My bad force of habbit.

      • +4

        Stupid, fat habbit.

  • Deal only shows keyboard - no mouse?

  • +2

    Ewaste

    • collecting rubbish

    • These come with Dell desktop purchases, I suspect many end up as just that
It's not the worst keyboard ever, acceptable for web browsing but for gaming or extensive typing then don't waste your money on this

  • it says $5.26 delivery.

Edit. says free delivery when I login.

  • +2

Pretty good price considering shipping is free! Don't care if these come free with a Dell PC (heck I'm not buying a Dell PC anytime soon, less so to get a keyboard). As far as budget keyboards go, this isn't half bad for 8 bucks. Just don't buy it expecting to use the WSAD keys in a frag rush.

    • +3

It's not a deal because you can spend several hundred dollars on a new desktop and get it for "free"

  • a good keyboard for my son to do e-learning

  • +4

Yeah it's great - need a spare keyboard for my RPi. It's not e-waste if you have a use for it people, sigh.

  • +5

Lol I don't get all the hate this keyboard is getting.

We have these in the office and they're actually not bad to type on. I like that the keys are spaced out and not cramped like some kbs

    • +8

Yeah, its a fine basic keyboard, especially at $8, better than no-brand generics.

Appparently people will literally die if its not a mechanical keyboard. /s

      • +1

Or if it doesn't have twenty different shades of blue and red backlighting it's keys

  • I bought this a month ago for $11 from Amazon AU themselves. I have a Dell pc anyways so dont mind this keyboard. Its got chiclet keys so something that I like.

  • -1

These feel terrible to type on.

  • -4

I love buying Ewaste. But they will be well used before going to the dumpster.

  • +1

I don't know why but I bought one.
    Thanks OP.

  • +11

Guys with all respect - if you're going to hate on this keyboard, please provide a better alternative for $8.

    • +1

It's actually quite decent keyboard. I had this one (but wireless option and combo with mouse)
And was really pleasant to work with.

  • Thanks. Ordered. Like the volume controls and keyboard looks slim.

  • Just bought one. They are USB plug in right?

    • +1

      Yep

  • It's coming up as over 20 dollars??

  • Had these at school and they were good to type on and the scissor key switches don't allow as much debris to fall underneath. These are far far from the worst.

  • Price is now $21

  • +3

This looks like it might be the same model of keyboard, possibly a newer manufacturing date - it's technical details describe it as a "Dell KB216 Wired Multimedia Keyboard"
    Still available for $10.95

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Wired-Multimedia-Keyboard-Black-58…

One thing to keep in mind is these keyboards only have a 2 key rollover - so apparently it will only ever register up to 2 simultaneous key presses, which probably won't work well for gaming.

    • This is the one that I bought. Same model of keyboard. I play csgo on this and its fine. Why would you need more than 2 key presses for gaming?

      • +1

Cool, I'm glad to hear it work well for you. There would be some games where only have 2 simultaneous key presses might cause some issues though - like in a FPS game, if you're pressing W and A a the same time to be moving in a forward-left direction, and then simultaneously you want to jump with Space. This keyboard likely wouldn't pick that up and you'd fail to jump. I think the modifier keys (ctrl, shift and alt) might be exempt from this limitation though? Otherwise doing something like sprinting holding the Shift key and W key simultaneously, would also not allow you do jump, or throw a grenade or any other keyboard input. And of course a simple Ctrl-Alt-Delete wouldn't work?

    • Thanks got it for $0.95 from credit applied on my account.

  • +1

E-Waste. The keys are not very comfortable to type on. You can probably get it free on Gumtree or Facebook.

    • +1

Cheap is not always a bargain, it's a awful keyboard, I have no idea why it's highly rated in amazon.
Very hard to type and very uncomfortable. Apparently it's a bargain here as well, Oh well.
