  • beware of the shipping times. I ordered one with 3070 upgrade on 13/7 with indicated 6 weeks shipping. But now estimated shipping date is 30/9 and arrival is 11/10.

    Hopefully it changes.

    • I ordered mine on the 14/7 with 3070 upgrade and it showed 6 weeks. My estimated shipping date is November 15 and it arriving November 24. I gave Lenovo a call, and apparently they are waiting on motherboards apparently, but I've asked them to escalate and confirm this.

      • any updates ?

  • Does the GAMEON code still work with all these quotes people are getting from chat?

    • no it does not. the quote eliminates the option to input

  • Good screen " IPS 500nits Anti-glare, 165Hz, 3ms, 100% sRGB, Dolby Vision, HDR 400, Free-Sync, G-Sync, "

  • Is it worth upgrading from 3060 to 3070 if I am not playing game?

    • What are you using it for? Even 3060 is overkill if you don't play any games. You can even go down to the slim with 3050 although you will get a lesser quality screen https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/636355

  • How come people are paying extra $340 for this this Pro version over the non Pro Lenovo Legion 5? Is it worth it if the screen is the only difference?

    • Well for starters that one is out of stock…
Personally I'm getting the normal Legion 5 as I want a white laptop and the pro doesn't have the option. :P

  • has anyone been able to get a better price via online chat, have tried several consultants nada hahaha

  • As a tertiary student, what would you opt for? This or other deals being posted like this?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/639283

    • I'd go with the one you posted, this laptop is absolutely overkill. Also, I own it, and it's very heavy/the charger is HUGE. I'd hate to be lugging it to uni.

      • Do you think by the end of the year, there will be better and cheaper laptops or is this a no brainer? I'm just waiting for next year.

        • +1

Honestly with laptops there will always be something better and cheaper the longer you wait. It's the nature with computer parts. If you wait longer you might be able to get something better. Just depends when you need it though.

  • Whats the best price anyone got the 3 years Premium care which used to be bundled with the Legion range before ?

  • Just a heads up if you try to customise the order… I placed an order for a legion 7 with an upgrade to the 3080 late last month and finally received my estimated shipping date… November 15th with delivery on Nov 24th. They said unless I wanted the 3060 I would have to wait that long, so that would include using a 3070 and I believe its the same for the legion 5 pro (based on what the sales rep told me on the phone).

    • ive place order last week 13/17, L5pro 3070. delivery date was adjusted for me from, September -> October delivery to august 10th just then when i checked.

      • I placed mine on the 14/7, L5 Pro 3070, and I am on November 15th and delivery by 24th as well. 1 day makes so much difference

  • +1

I got the 3060 version. Laptop is solid. I wish I had the choice of 3070 tho. I guess I will have to live with it.

  • When going to order the standard 3060 it is saying estimated 4 weeks because of high demand, but when selecting 3070 it only changes to 5 weeks.

Anyone have a clue if these are somewhat accurate? I saw some people mention November and December for 3070. I really wanted to get something a little sooner.

    • +1

I just had confirmation from web chat that both 3060 and 3070 have Nov as estimated time of shipping.

      • I had a chat with a different rep and they said that either of them would ship out between 6 and 8 weeks. They said it doesn't matter if its a 3060 or 3070 in terms of shipping. Conflicting to the other rep and also what's on the site (4 weeks for 3060 and 5 weeks for 3070).

I'm unsure what to do. If the order gets significantly delayed (say they push it back to late November/December, can you cancel the order and get your money back, or are you locked in?)

        Cheers.

        • The FAQ section of the Lenovo website states that you cannot cancel an order.

However, I’ve been reassured by a chat agent that I can cancel an order without incurring any fees, as long as it is cancelled before the item is shipped.

The terms of this AMEX offer also state you can cancel an order before it ships.

          • @WookieMonster: Thanks, that's reassuring. I might go for the 3070 and hope for the best.

  • Expected to Ship
    November 15, 2021

    Expected to Arrive
    November 24, 2021

if your in a hurry do not buy this!
pretty sure this is past buyer paypal protection date

    • Is that for the 3060 or 3070 variant?

      • 3070 and Ryzen 7 5800H 3.2G 8C MB

        • Hmm yeah I think the 3070's are delayed a lot more than 3060. The site says ships within 3 weeks for 3060 and 8 weeks for 3070. I'm trying to get info out of the chat with them if they have anything else to add

          • @hootie: Ships within 8 weeks* yet its past 16 weeks!
is this right? chat is useless

            update:
machine you ordered is built to order in China and got delayed due to few unforeseen circumstances.
            beware everyone lol

            • @Rukiata: There is torrential rain flooding happening at the moment in China, might have been delayed because of that I guess?

    • My order was showing November but today updated to 10th of August ship and arrival 19th of August

      • 3070 variant

  • Opinions please.

    I'm happy with the legion 5 pro, want the 5800h & 3070.

I've typically been a desktop-based gamer… But moving into laptops as I will be moving around heaps the next few years.

Will have my own RAM & SSD so not fussed about the issues with the timings / a sole small SSD.

I have no need for it until 2022** though, is it worth jumping on the $2464.15 now, (can't get it any cheaper via education store) or just waiting the next 6 months for prices to come down?

How do laptops such as these generally go cost wise over time?

    • I'd say wait, as the L5P seems to own the segment for now hence bit frothy..
I'm personally waiting for HP Omen 17/16.

    • +1

Since there's no rush for you, perhaps wait till November Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals. That's what I'm doing anyway.

  • My 5800H/3060 order status had updated to shipping Aug 10 / arriving Aug 19 yesterday.

Checked this morning and its now allegedly shipping today (Jul 27) and arriving Aug 5.

Two days ago I'd been about to cancel the 3060 order and get a 3070 if the wait was going to be similar.

Has anyone else of any config had their order update similarly or could this just be noise?

    • +1

      Someone else has.

I also had my L5P order update from mid-November to mid-August.

I don’t really pay a lot of attention to the estimated shipping/delivery dates, since they can change at a drop of a hat (and we have seen that happen already). Who knows, another typhoon or a factory fire or something else could go wrong and push the delivery date once again.

    • When did you place the order? Maybe I should think about placing an order if it'll arrive before end of Aug..

      • +1

mine says mid-November still so good luck.

      • +2

Ordered July 21. As Wookie said though every few days they seem to throw darts at a calendar to decide these dates so who knows.

        • +1

I ordered July 21 as well mine not changed.

        • +1

Lol that’s probably the most logical explanation on their damn expected shipping/delivery dates.

I’m most likely going to cancel my order if it doesn’t ship by the end of August, so you folks may benefit from that haha

          • @WookieMonster: July 27: Expected shipping date - July 27

July 28: Expected shipping date - July 28..

            And so it begins..

      • Btw, I placed my order on 17 Jul

        • Was that for a 3070?

          • @aznsniper: Yes. 3070, 5800H, 16GB RAM.

            • @WookieMonster: Mine has changed from shipping 10/8 and arriving 19/8 to "Please be advised that your order is currently on hold , pending Credit Release. Kindly contact [email protected] for further details"

              • @jafnoltre: How did you pay for your order?

I don't have that message on my order at the moment.

                • @WookieMonster: Credit card, it's still on there as a pending payment like it has been since the order was placed.

                  • @jafnoltre: That's a strange message. I also paid by credit card, but the hold on the card disappeared after a few business days. I wonder what Lenovo will say after you send them the email.

You will only be charged for the laptop once it is shipped.

  • +1

anyone gotten theirs yet? my Expected to Ship was 15th this month now its blank… better not be delayed yet again

    • oh dang I thought they only brought the dates forward not backwards..

      • I tried to call and they just give me ''no info''

        • I ordered the 3060 version and my expected shipping dates now say "Expected to Ship December 31, 2021", "Expected to Arrive January 11, 2022" :(

    • Mine was still showing up as expected to ship 10th yesterday but now it is showing up blank now which does make me very concerned.

    • My estimated shipping date has now blown out to 31 Dec 2021.

I still believe the folks at Lenovo are still throwing darts at a calendar every few days to decide what to update the shipping dates to.

At least the sale page for the L5P currently states that it will ship in more than 8 weeks, so I guess they're not being as deceptive there…

    • Mine just got updated to reflect shipping to be onm the 23 august and delivery Sept. 1!

      • +1

mine too, dont get your hopes up lol might update again..

      • Mines changed again, well right now the dates are blanked.. im start to get pissed off, this store is a joke

  • My 5800H/3060 unit ordered on the 21st arrived yesterday.

The ESD kept updating to the current date with each new day, but it changed to shipped on the 30th and seems to have been legit.

I'd originally ordered the Ideapad Slim 5 Pro from another deal which was quickly delayed until November in the same way, but then out of nowhere started shipping in July.

Hopefully you all have similar luck with the calendar gods soon.

  • Anyone got theres yet? of the 3070?

    mine says Expected to Ship
    September 24, 2021
but it kept changing before so might delay yet again

    • Mines changed again, well right now the dates are blanked.. im start to get pissed off, this store is a joke

    • I m late to the party, ordered 19 Aug, few days ago showed 30 Nov ship, today it's blank:
Please be advised that your order is currently on hold , pending Credit Release.Kindly contact [email protected] for further details.

      AMD 3070 L5PRO

      • mines changed to Expected to Ship
        December 31, 2021

… im not sure what to do now

        • I am going to cancel it, this is a joke. I consider gaming laptop because ppl saying it's more available c.f. desktop, I won't spend 4 month waiting a floating date. Just called their hotline but only available Mon-Fri so I will do it next Mon.

          • @hackups: im going to cancel mine too, im sure others have already and orders still not being bumped up. makes no sense

            • @Rukiata: Cancelled today and re-ordered the lower spec but heaps cheaper one: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/647924

              p.s. I am a casual gamer

Expect delivery in mid Sep (again, it's estimated)

              • @hackups: canceled mine too. the support is so useless they dont do anything. just go off what it says on website.
                GL with that lol

        • Yeah I've seen this happen to lots people who have ordered. Not just people in Australia either.
I can imagine it's quite frustrating.
Its a great laptop and well worth the money. I guess keep an eye out for the prebuilt versions that ship within 2 business days.
