    a dvd lol

what is this thing? and what year is this?

    • +1

Well, I was just after the serial 😂.
As I suggested, I sus that these can be DVDs that are sold to System Integrators.

      • i'd take the dvd just as curio thing since most pcs, desktops or laptops dont have drives

FURTHER to this… you can throw the lot in your draw since Windows 11 is a mere bunch of days away

I bought an OEM Win 10 pro key for under $10 on ebay a few years ago, still using it now

    • +1

Yeah just type in your old win7 key if fresh install.

OEM OS - is designed to be sold with hardware that you buy/is required to build a new PC.
e.g. cpu, ram, mainboard/motherboard, gpu or the likes…
I don't know that anyone really cares though anymore though.

As others have said - if you have W7 you can do a free UPG.

  • pirate bay… usb stick… rufus mounting software

F getting an OS off pirate bay. Download genuine windows and obtain a key, or use a verified distro of Linux.

      Windows back door edition

      • That’s what the one for sale already is.

    • You can always use MS media creation tools to create the bootable USB.

    • become part of bot net zombie

    • been torrenting it for a decade, no issues, billgates is still eating no stress

Why not use the official from MS?

  • I've bought a bunch of these, and they're the original retail package, shrink wrapped 100% genuine:

    • I wondering where they came from.

    • I thought Pro gave you more than a 1 PC licence

  • Decimal point in the wrong place… $13.70 what is worth ?

  • Windows 10 is actually free to use. You just can't customise it Eg. Background or color schemes, and you get annoying pop ups to activate.

Otherwise Windows 7 is around $20 from reddit marketplace.

    • Depending on hardware might not be able to install Win7 at all. Besides, easier to run MAS script to get a digital licence rather than installing an older version of Windows and upgrading. Licence stored on MS server, so windows will reactivate if re-installed, no key required as long as online and same HWID, which is essentially your MB. So similar to OEM.

$6 on Express. Hard to justify this.

  • All those suggesting $5 and $10 keys. do keep in mind those are only 1-time use. If you format your PC the key won't work.

    • Isn't Windows 10 remember your hardware ID? Or those $5 $10 keys not the same?

      • not the same for those keys. They are just one-time use, even on the same hardware.

        • I used the same $10 key from an Intel system to an AMD system. All you have to do is link your digital licence to your Microsoft account.
