When posting bargains you need a working link, state the store's name and price.

      Done!

Cluster! You're doing it wrong! You're suppose to slander the OP for their first few posts here on OzBargain, not politely state a few suggestions and tips for better posts. Gesus, what is this site coming to?! </sarcasm>

        • slander the OP for their first few posts

Oh, well, let's see what's gonna happen with a negative attitude LoL

      • Thanks for remembering the </sarcasm> tag although I suspect some might miss it. Still, the very reason we introduced the [1] and [P] tags for new posters so we can be more kind and tolerant towards their first few posts here.

  • The ad says USB3.0 yet the specs say USB2.0

    FAIL!

    • specs say usb 2.0, but i cant see anywhere stating usb 3.0?

      (or has op changed something?)

      • Check dse's front page

        http://www.dse.com.au

        • well spotted!

i'd be saving that page or printing it or something in that case…. usb3.0 definitely quoted TWICE in that picture.

    • Very deceptive having that front page clearly stating USB 3.0

Pretty sure they cant do that….unless it is actually USB 3.0 and the specs sheet on the product is wrong.
The spec sheet on Seagate.com.au clear uses the same pic as DSE for a USB 3.0

this used to be $159 a few weeks ago…

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/64389

It sure was. It was also when this was $159 too.

Not much of a bargain to be had here IMO. If it were USB3.0, then that'd be a different story. But it doesn't appear to be.

    • not local, but you're right http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/63033
plus previous bargain was a usb3.0 version.

      this one is usb 2.0.

unfortunately not a bargain op, sorry.

That's ok, after all that's what this website for, isn't it?

        • plus vote for good manners :).

    • Still AU$160 delivered from Amazon for a 3TB USB 3 model.

  • If it's USB 2.0, we've have a -real- deal very recently:

Big W offered it for $159 (ie, about $53 per TB),
which is a reasonable "benchmark" price for a TB
    of data storage space.

This offer is NOT a deal.

    • I think the key here is not whether a better price was offered recently, but whether a better offer is available right now. I can't buy a product today on an offer available yesterday.

MSY sell a 3Tb WD USB2.0 drive for $199 too, but I have to go get it (DSE has free postage) and MSY charge a credit card surcharge (DSE don't).

      • I'm sure you can find better somewhere, MSY isnt great for hard drives, look elsewhere

        maybe this….

      • $199 for 3TB WD @ JB…

It's pretty annoying that DSE would even consider it a bargain, (they sent an email out). Especially when they don't send email out on good deals (like the rechargeable batteries).

Guess that's where ozbargain comes in.

  • I purchased this item from Tricky about 2 weeks ago for $159

At the Riverton shop in wait awhile.

    So it has increased $40

    good old tricky

  • I prefer the WD 2Tb for $110 at Target

  • Seagate Expansion 3TB usb3 is about 170 aud shipped from amazon

  • i got this for $149 2 weeks ago , usb 3 dosnt matter, i removed the drive and put it in my pc

    • Well played sir… well played.
