Referrals flushed a minute ago and users are already entering their October codes.

Also… can see about 6 codes in database that don't have OCT1AGG at the end of the referral link. Links without these may or may not qualify for $30 referral bonus, you may get less or you might get none.

    • +4

Yeah, not sure why there are always ppl keep trying when they have no valid referral. As before if we can’t see “Expiring Soon” when clicking the link, it won’t track

      • -1

Because last time it was flushed I didn't understand why because the explanation of why you wouldn't enter it into the system again was not explained when they were flushed you need to visit a deal post for that information.

So like I initially did most people probably just entered it not realising while they have a referral code not or referrals are eligible for signup referrals.

  • +2

I have never had so many purges of a referral system haha. Revolut sure do love to change it

    • I believe that's good, at least they do give you what's promised, not like other shady business

  • Can you use Revolut cards on Uber Eats ?

    • +1

Yes, I use mine for Uber Eats (as we have to enter 1 valid card), though I mostly paying with gift cards

    • Having issue adding Revolut virtual card to Uber this month. Keep getting error message. Not sure if others having the same issue.

      • I have the same issue

        • Is it a new virtual card? Generated within the last couple of days?

          • @Kyle-K: I'm having issue adding disposable virtual card into uber eats payment

          • @Kyle-K: Yes, seems like new generated virtual card since Oct have been rejected by Uber

            • @JackMa101: I wonder if this is related to the fact that they sent out an email two days ago about them reissuing pre-existing virtual cards in the next few days. I would imagine newly generated cards have these changes.

Subject: Kyle-K, you're getting a shiny new Revolut virtual card!

              Hi Kyle

Your Revolut virtual card will be re-issued

We've recently made some under-the-hood improvements to our payment systems and are issuing a select group of customers with a shiny new virtual card. We're sure you'll love the new payment experience!

Your new virtual card will be issued within the next couple of days. Once your new card has been issued, we'll send you a push notification confirmation.

Your existing virtual card ending ***** will continue working for the next 60 days and will then be terminated. Don't worry, we'll give you a couple of heads-up before terminating the card. If you have other Revolut cards, these will continue to work as normal.

        • I am having this issue with Ubereats and Doordash. Are there any alternative cards that don't affect credit rating out there?

          • @altman: actually.. i am having this issue with ubereats but for doordash, nothing has been charging (besides the initial authorisation, which is $0), so ive been having free meals from DD. Not just once, but twice already

            • @gardna: I keep getting authorisation requests but it wont proceed to be charged with doordash so the transactions fail. Eventually account gets blocked when I keep trying new numbers.

              • @altman: hmmm… i guess the different things do play out for diff people

  • +2

I signed up for this card a few months ago just for the referral bonus which I somehow stuffed up so didn't qualify. Nevertheless, I actually now love this card and use it all the time!

    • +3

Hopefully someone clicks on your link and gets you a nice bonus!

      • I had 4 clicks my last referral and not 1 conversion, lol.

        • Ooft that sucks. They would have lost out too.

        • Seems to be common… 3 here. I think I had 2 or 3 the previous time too and also nothing.

    • Why do you love it?

The envelope it came is pretty cool but I've never really used the card beyond getting the bonus.

    • I absolutely love this card as well.

  • Easiest qualifying purchases without leaving home? Prezzee?

    • +1

Shopback Gift Cards, use existing SB balance and additional cashback on GC purchase
Why would someone use Prezzee, they have discounts on GC like 4 times a year thats it.

      • Ahh ok so transactions don't have to be tap & pay transactions? (prezzee transactions via Apple Pay count as Tap N Pay)

    • Getting those Amazon vouchers before November 1st.

Delivery Charge for Revolut Cards (Including Junior Cards)
    A$9.99 for standard delivery
    A$33.99 for express delivery

Note: The delivery charge may be more for regional and rural areas.

    • Last month when I ordered a card it was free delivery, might still be the case?

    • +2

Currently the delivery fee for standard is waived.

    • Currently the standard cards are still free however junior cards are subject to a delivery charge if you're on the free plan.

  • +1

What it the benefit of having this? I churn CC every few months anyway but curious if there is some particular quirk to make this advantageous? Burner accounts tend to be more bound to a mobile number and email address than payment method in my experience.

    • It gives you a disposable credit card number to use on dodgy sites. Gives you a new one after each purchase

      • Hmm… i don't think i use dodgy sites

        • +2

Doesn't have to be dodgy ones. Sites that offer a free trial that you don't want to put in your cc info

          • @zrach: True! Hadn't thought of that use.

    • +1

This is a prepaid card with no annual fee and no impact to your credit. So can't really compare it to the standard CC that you churn with.
You can also keep generating virtual cards and there no international transaction fees which standard credit cards usually have. I'm also told these cards have particularly good conversion rates to other currencies on specific days (not weekends). So if you transact a lot in foreign currency this should save you some.

      • +1

OK thanks. I suppose being able to generate virtual cards might come in handy. Do they expire?

Already have Citibank debit, uBank, and 28 degrees cards (free) so that covers the rest of that i think.

EDIT: I'll sign up, random Mark whoever you are, referral comin your way.

        • There are 2 options, virtual card that you keep and disposable card that can only be used once, so it refreshes to a new one after you use it.

      • You say that there is no annual fee for this card, and that you can keep generating virtual cards.

However, according to the Revolut website (see https://www.revolut.com/en-AU/our-pricing-plans) only the paid plans offer the virtual cards - at a minimum of $10.99 per month. Their Standard plan (no monthly cost) does NOT offer virtual cards.

        Please advise.

        • I'm aware of that but for some reason they still allow you to use the disposable cards on the free accounts (I can confirm on my own free account), it's been mentioned before and used by others in past deals.

          • @wangasm: Thanks! I'll sign up now. If you want, DM me your referral code, and I will use it as a thank you for responding. :)

        • You say that there is no annual fee for this card, and that you can keep generating virtual cards.

Correct at the moment you can keep on generating the virtual card's on their free plan.

That's the disposable virtual card. This regenerates a new card number automatically every time you use it.

The virtual cards you can generate multiple of them and the number stays the same. You would have to cancel the card each time that you don't want the number to be used any more.

Additionally in the past they've moved this offering around quite a few times for the free plan for example in the past there's been limits on the virtual card for example you could only have one at a time, there's been a limit on how many you can have and now there appears to be no limit.

Free members have been able to generate one disposable virtual card in the past.

And the physical card flips back-and-forth between completely free and paid as wellers free delivery.

  • Never gotten a successful referral, the referral always misses one final step or signs up and doesn't proceed. But still a good card to have nevertheless.

  • The app has a rewards section for cashbacks too, not alot to choose from but it's something none the less. I have had success helping my friend/s sign up where we both received the referral bonus, nice and straight forward process

  • Find it weird with this card that, despite handing over your passport and verifying your details etc. its still classified as a prepaid visa so you can't use it for afterpay, paypal pay in 4 etc. None of those use direct debits anyway.

But still enjoy the app and card much more than commbank.

    • -1

Their app is so bad compared to something like Up or Macquarie.

  • +1

This sounds interesting. I've just signed up (I hope you get your money, Jing).

I have a question about the disposable card in the app and I am hoping someone that has some understanding of how it works might be able to answer for me. If I buy something with that card and for some reason the purchase is going to be refunded, what happens when the vendor tries to refund to the (now expired) disposable debit card?

    • That's a good question.

    • +2

As per FAQ you can still get refund even if the card is deleted.
      https://www.revolut.com/en-IT/help/making-payments/paying-by…

      • Thanks for the clarification - greatly appreciated.

Normally it's worked out on the backend. It's the same thing is if the refund is done to an expired real card.

Just remember that the "disposable virtual card" I believe is not available on the free plan at the moment. This is the one that automatically regenerate it self every time it's used.

At the moment they only give you the virtual cards on the free plan these cards do not change but you can generate many of them and delete them when you're done with them manually.

      See here for additional information

      • +2

Actually the disposable cards are available on the free plan at the moment, at least for me.

        • Thanks, good to know as I mentioned in my earlier post above. They do love changing the offering around and I also swear from time to time they are A/B testing their product offering.

  • Would this be a suitable method of paying for the Turkish Netflix payment? My ING cards don't work :(

    • +1

You could always go the giftcard route on g2a. It works

      • Oh nice, will do that! Cheers

  • Both standard card and disposable card are pending id check (gave them driver license and selfie). Do I wait or can I spend now?

  • Only those who received email invite with their unique referral link should update their referral link

OP, I have received an email from Revolute for the unique referral link, ends with !OCT1AGG. Now how do I make sure it's listed under random referral links database?

I guess I have to Edit the random referral section and enter my unique referral link there, right?

    • I guess I have to Edit the random referral section and enter my unique referral link there, right?

      Correct.

  • Thanks Simon - I used your code.
I prepaid 3x $10 to Telstra - instantly received the referral award of $30.
You can DM if you want to shout me a coffee, since I can't add my referral here (I wasn't targeted for this promo since I just signed up) ;-)

    • Same deal, signed up the wife and paid 3 x $10 on a bill, $30 hit both the new account and the referring account. Free money for not a lot of work.

  • Is there any indicator that you've successfully signed up using a referral code and not just normally signed up?

I clicked through one of the "expiring soon" referral links and inputted my number. It redirected me to download the app and then to sign up again with my number. Is this the correct process?

Their online chat seems to be very busy, so I can't confirm

    • +1

That’s the correct process. When u click a referral and input ur phone number, they’d linked base on ur phone number (it’d ask the number again when creating account after downloading).
Unfortunately only ur referrer can see it on their end whether u’ve been successfully tracked

      • Ahh awesome, then it's probably worked

        If there's a Ryan here give a shoutout to me, L 🤙🤙

    • I was a bit skeptical too because I didn't see confirmation of signup bonus when I opened the app.
I ended up prepaying Telstra and instantly received the $30.

      • Awesome. Did you just pay through Telstra app using the virtual card generated by revolut?

I've done the same with Optus but the deduction hasn't shown up on revolut yet strangely, but I do see that the extra balance has reflected in my Optus account

        • +1

I went via Telstra online with a virtual card (because the physical one takes a few days to arrive).
I entered $10 and clicked pay via PayPal, then repeated twice.
Via the app you can go via payments, my bill and "make advance payment"
(I always go via the website)

          • @johnmelb: U can actually tap the physical card on ur app and activate it right away. It's dangerous though since if ur real card get stolen later, then it's already active (though u can also just freeze it afterward). Not really useful since it works like virtual, I was just playing around last time before I had my card. It worked (bought gift card from Shopback with the physical card detail, right after creating account).

            • @hny3: Yeah, I didn't want to do that. I still haven't received my card.
(Since I already have 5 "lost" parcels - lost by shipping companies including Amazon, Toll and Auspost), I didn't want to risk activating a card I didn't have.

Thanks for the tip though, I thought about that too, but ended up going with a virtual card, which worked too.

  • William W has signed up using my referral code, you have completed all steps except 3x $10 purchases.

Please message me if you need help.

We really need an OzBargain page where we can reach out to our referees that use our referral codes.

  • Have Anthony and Kee using my code but not complete 3 x $10 purchases. 2 days left.

    • Where does it tell you this in the app? No-one seems to have used my referral as far as I know.

      • on the app main dashboard, there should be a Revolut logo, two arrows facing left and right, and 4 boxes as 3 options down the bottom

(u may need to scroll up and down to make it visible)

then click on the 4 boxes icon, then on next screen you will see Referrals under the Rewards section.

        • Thanks found it. That is the good news. The bad news is no pending referrals!

    • it's frustrating to say the least - I wish Revolut support could send a reminder to your referral on request through the chat. Maybe they do?
