Optical Audio Cable (TOSLINK) - 2 Metres - $2 - GAME Instore

390

This is kind of a dupe relating to my other GAME post, but thought this was worthy of it's own submission :)

It's identical in build quality to the cable I bought from Jamell last year:

http://www.jamellcables.com.au/optical-toslink-cables/standa…

Has a 1 year warranty, but I can't vouch for GAME being around in a years time, but for 2 bucks, who cares.

My mate over in Sydney grabbed one this morning, and I know of 3 stores in Perth have stock, so it should be available everywhere.

Transfer digital audio signal to other equipment in your A/V setup. For example, if you have an AVR but it does not support audio-return channel by HDMI, you need this cable if you want to hear the sound from your loud speakers instead of crap TV speakers. I use it for PS3 to my AVR, because I directly connect the PS3 to my TV for 3D movies.

    • I use this for audio connection from PS3 (PlayTV/BluRay/DVDs/Game)to Logitech z5500.

    • i use one to connect pc digital out to my fiio e17 digital in.
(most pc's these days should have this as an output option)

very handy cable for that purpose.
beats having to flash optical signals manually.

    • yeah, i got one off ebay but paid i think $4.50 or something for one located in australia.

normally i wouldn't mind the wait from china but i needed quick delivery.

    • I bought a cheap toslink from ebay & the end fell off within days :/

  • Just bought the ebay one. Thanks roughana.

Just walked into the shop and bought two.
    Thanks!

I've had problems with ones ordered from eBay before, so it would be nice to walk into a shop and buy one for a reasonable price. Some of the eBay ones are loose in their socket, or the length isn't what was quoted, or they are so thin they break easily.

Just a wild stab in the dark here, but I don't think you have much chance of upselling a $200 cable that does the same job as a $2 one on a site called OzBargain!

I'll throw you a charity '+' for giving it the old college try though! ;)

Got the last 2 in Perth City on Friday night. Mark down sticker had $3, but scanned at $2.

  • OP: GAME is not in any financial dire straights - not GAME Australia. They will be around for years to come, and 2012 will be a big year for them.
