I recently moved from Telstra JB Hi-Fi plan to Optus. $27.50 pm 80 GB data unlimited calls in Oz and finite list of countries overseas. This deal can be availed via online chat. Port in was seamless too.
In case any one is interested.

      • Tell me more… I'm thinking of trying Optus when my boost expires. Do you get 5G?

      • $27.5 per month for 12 months or month to month?

      • Must be this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/633753
Expired and 50% off for only 12 months on an additional service.

      • When did you sign up?

      • Additional service only?

      • Yeah that will match or even beat the CIRCLE/Optus $30/100gb and whats awesome is, then on Optus its 1.5mbs unlimited for the rest of the month!

The ONLY offering that beats it is Felix/Vodafone $35 UNL+20mbs but no overseas (another $5 addon)

  • Is this for new or also existing subscribers?

    • +1

Existing customers can, but have to get additional number/service.

      • Why additional? Do you mean one can't get their existing Vodafone plan onto this plan/deal?

        • Why additional?

Because that's what the rules say.
You can read the conditions here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/661486

I rang up today to try and change from the $55 Red plan to this but as others have mentioned it's not possible unless you add another service or new customer. I did however manage to get a 15% discount on my $55 plan bringing it down to $46.

    • this offer is only available for new/additional services

    • it's also available to customers who sign up to a new phone on their existing number.

      • mate I am looking for aa deal like the last year where 12 months commitment + $1 to get a device.. is there anything coming, if you know of ?

        • Hi Ash, for as long as I've worked at Vodafone they've never offered discounts to phones over 12 month lengths, and that probably won't be offered in the future either. currently though, over 24 months you can get the LG K42 for $1 per month along with a plan, or the Samsung A11 for $2 per month along with a plan.

          • @[Deactivated]: Thanks for the reply mate. Much appreciated.

          • @[Deactivated]: I've got a $16 loyalty discount that's been active on my 36 month handset payment plan since July 2019 on my Note 9. This brings it down from $1799 to $1222 overall.

@Bezzey: Hi @Bezzey. Can you please turn on messaging in your OzB settings so I can PM you. Thanks!

              • @tightarse: Absolutely sure can, just turned messaging on.

  • Their mobile Ultra+ Plan is also on sale for $65 for unlimited data, add the LG K42 4G phone to the plan for $1 per month that will make it $66 per month for unlimited data.

  • What's the Vodafone network like these days?

    • +2

For me 5 out of 5 as I am rural area and other sheep sorry farmers are on hel$tra got crap service. you will have to try a prepaid sim for yourself to find out….I got the $55 Per month deal for 500gb. Paid extra $1 for phone per month and the my deal will go for 24 months.

    • Bunch of new towers as they co-share with Optus it many places now and they are going gangbuster in catching up with Optus 5G with their own rollout (my towers getting updated over xmas to 5G)… Its worth having a dual sim phone, keep an eSim or the like on another network need not cost much;

      Woolworths Mobile

  • Is this just for new customers? The plan doesn’t seem to be available to me

    • this offer is only available for new customer and existing customer with additional services

    The usual mobile ripoff.

  • +1

Wish they would bring the 40GB plan down to $35. Would make it the cheapest e-SIM provider with number share by a long mile.

    • They do, actually. Save $5/mth off plan fees each month when you stay connected to this plan

      • That's only on the $45/m plan which discounted to $40.

I think he wants the $40/m plan to discounted to $35 but that isn't on offer unfortunately.

    • +1

keep an eye on felix mobile over the next few months

      • Are VoWiFi, VoLTE and eSIM on offer? 5G would be good but currently useless anyway.

      • PM me what to look out for asside from 5G as the website and common sense tells me its coming too. Im a fan, will be porting over soon and got my mum sorted and she is saving a heap over NBN+landline+mobile deal on Telstra!

She cant get her head around $35 and probably in conservative on how she uses it (no streaming to the TV even!) and Im happy as I hate seeing the big phone bills in areas every month or two as she always went over whatever the deal was!

Just so long as we keep the value and fair use, Im all in!

    • also, letting you know, vodafone provides esim with their prepaid options.
the $30 prepaid option gives 15gb data per 28 days, and if you set up auto-recharge you get $5 off every recharge, making it $25 per 28 days. the $40 prepaid plan gives you 30gb data, and again, auto-recharge will bring that to $35 per 28 days. these prepaid plans also include data roll-over every month, up to a max of 200gb

      • Can you bundle the $5 cellular addon for apple watch with prepaid?

        • the cellular add on isn't available with prepaid plans unfortunately

  • I am on their $40 plan and have 220 GB data ;p

    • +1

      How?

      • Idk - been with them for 3+ years and they gave me offers
My plan is 220GB data + unlimited Aus calls / text + 320 mins (int calls to my county)

    • SECRET but… When you sign up after a day or two, install the smart phone app and goto the optional add data and Optus have 20gb option for $0 for 12 months….

I did this on the 2 half price $15 sims with 5gb each, so for $15 a month I got two data sims with 5+5=10gb shared data and then added the bonus data to each!

Now I have 50gb over the 2 sims shared, then it slows to 1.5mbs until the month resets! Used in 2 tablets….

  • I signed up last week on this plan, and it included bonus 30GB and zero minutes international. Opened up chat on the Vodafone chat and they offered to switch me to this deal so long as I committed to 12 months. They switched me over chat. Happy!

  • +2

I think Felix mobile is a pretty comparable deal if you don't have/need 5G.

Unlimited 20 Mbps 4G on Vodafone network too for $35/month. $5/month extra gets you the international calls and texts but who needs them if you can use the internet.

    • Would this work in a telstra4gx mobile WiFi? My $69/m plan is coming to an end

    • +1

      if you don't have/need 5G.

      And no VoLTE/VoWiFi, no eSIM.

  • -2

vodafone is bad. I switched to them from tpg and the reception is worse (in Canberra). Also found out the hard way they don't have wifi calling on their prepaid sims, only monthly plans. Better of with Boost. But this deal isn't bad tbh.

    • +1

Silly this as tpg and Vodafone are the using the same Vodafone network, what makes it different?

  • +1

Anyone using this in a 4g router?

    • I am.
It is working perfectly fine for me but the dynamic IP flips every now and then. Only if you care for that, otherwise no issues at all.

I usually get consistent speeds around 72mbps, not bad for my use case.

  • I literally got the Lite+ plan ($45) earlier in the week without the discount. Is there any way to get the $5 discount, or even upgrade to the Super plan (for only $5 more than I'm paying now)?

If I login to their website and go to the upgrade service screen I don't see the discount.

    • It possible, if you go on Live Chat and ask someone then they might.

      • No dice, they said they won't transfer since I've already had one "plan change" this month (i.e. signing up for the plan 5 days ago) :(

        • Just don't give up, cos sometime it can take few reps before they do. Some people had luck with that in the past, and surely still does it.

        • +1

If other reps won't do it, offer ends 30/11/2021 so schedule cancellation for the end of the billing period and sign up for this deal on 30/11/2021 (since they don't refund if you cancel early).

  • Tried to upgrade my month/by/month Sim only but it doesn't seem to have this

  • Does Vodafone have RCS or even receiving voicemail as a voice message rather than dialling a number to retrieve the voicemail.
