SimpleLogin Premium Lifetime License - US$80/~A$115 (Was $600) @ AppSumo

70

Receive and send emails anonymously

With email aliases, you can be anonymous online and protect your inbox against spams and phishing. Open-source. Made and hosted in Europe.

What is an alias email address?

Email alias is similar to forward email address: all emails sent to an alias will be forwarded to your inbox.

I can't find if a lifetime license has been sold for SimpleLogin before. They have a yearly plan at US$30/~A$41 per year, so if you plan on using the service for more than 2 years, it's a bargain for sure.

Not exactly sure where they pulled the US$600 RRP from but I've been using SimpleLogin for a few years and for me this deal is definitely worth it.

iCloud+ has email alias support. $1.49 per month, including 50GB of storage. Not sure if it offers all the other features that this service does.

    • iCloud+ has a limit of 100 aliases. I would've burnt through those pretty quickly as I use a unique email for pretty much everything. This allows for unlimited aliases. Also, being open-sourced is a big plus.

The limit was dropped during the beta.

      • Then get a domain & cPanel, a few dollars per month. Unlimited email addresses (just make up one for your domain).

You can fwd certain email to different addresses and everything else to your normal email.

        • Would recommend using a free duck DNS domain or something with whois privacy… depending of course on your particular needs

  • Emails sent to your alias will be forwarded to this email address. It can't be a disposable or forwarding email address.

If they are willing to block certain email domains, I'm sure other companies would love to do the same. They aren't as big as Apple where they can force other companies to play.

    • I use custom domains rather than their default options. Typically they won't be blocked unless you're spamming with it. You can normally get really cheap domains from somewhere like porkbun.

      • Cheapest long term (.com) domains are usually CloudFlare. They hand-ball the cost. And you can also use their free tier for ddos protection.

  • This looks cool, I didn't realise I needed this and it actually solves some issues I'm having now in terms of consolidation and security.

  • This would go well in the next round of Veeam shirt giveaways!

Note that you can set up email aliases for the cost of a domain and cpanel hosting. Or potentially a free hosting manager but it may not be as easy.

Domain can potentially be free or you can use subdomain on existing domain you own.

Not sure if there's additional reasons to use this service though.

There's a great service in the US that combines password manager, form filler, unlimited email aliases, unlimited credit card aliases and it provides 1 "throwaway" mobile number that redirects to your real one with filtering. All of it can be managed through one interface making it easy to identify spammers etc.

Unfortunately I'm not aware of a service like this that serves Australia.

    • There's plenty of privacy services that are limited to the US for legal reasons I assume. Maybe we'll get a privacy.com alternative eventually as well.

  • Blur/abine a chrome extension is free..

    • Hmm free browser extension….. In the words of Steve Gibson….What could possibly go wrong?

      • It's existed longer then his company has, and had a premium option, so don't mock it unless you research it.

        • Umm GRC kicked off in 1985, Abine in 2000.

          research it.

Hmm free browser extension….. In the words of Steve Gibson (whose company predates Abine by 15 years)….What could possibly go wrong?

    • Do you have premium account? How does the credit card masking work?

  • appsumo says deal is SOLD OUT!

    • Missed it, was interested….oh well. I thought I might have some time to research.

      • Get the free account. You have 7 days of premium features only not more than 15 aliases. If you assign your personal domain during the trial, it remains even after the trial.

        • Thanks, I'll have a play with it.

      • No guarantees but reach out to the developer “Son” he might be able to do it for you direct…. I signed up to this over a year ago, it’s a great service. I use it mainly for custom domain.
