    Where do I apply the code for au domain renewals? Or is it only for freshly generated invoices? I can't seem to find it.

      Apparently can't renew early. You basically have to have a domain expiring in the next 10 days or you are SOOL.

        Where are you seeing that? I have a domain expiring in 75 days and I was able to apply the discount.

          Just on chat - my expiry was 111 days and couldn't see anywhere to renew. Chat said it had to be expiring "imminently" and suggested 10 days. I wonder what the cut off is.

          Did you do it from the renew button in VIP? Mine is greyed out (auto renew was set up but I toggled with no change)

            @leyton01: Yes, I had a 'Renew' button that I clicked. Seems their support people need a refresher on current promotions. I'd suggest contacting them again and ask to speak to a more senior person.

              @Chazzozz: You're correct .au domain names can only be renewed in the last 90 days this is referred to by auDA as the renewal period.

              Also things to remember is you can only change the length of the renewal during this period two. You can pick to renew it during this 90 day period for up to 5 years.

      All right. I found it. Had to turn off auto-renew and refresh the page to unlock the "Renew" button, and after that a code box is available.

    When considering domain renewals, don't forget that direct .au registrations will start in March next year (https://ventraip.com.au/faq/article/launch-of-au-direct/).

    It's quite frustrating that customers on an annual billing cycle are significantly disadvantaged over customers on a monthly cycle.

    One of my services was on an annual cycle that renewed just 20 days ago, so I can't take advantage of this deal. There is also zero discount given for paying annual over monthly, as would normally be the case with most online services.

    Disadvantaged for being more committed.

    Lesson: Switch all your services to monthly cycle now.

      I'm not sure what you're referring to but the T&Cs in the blog post say:

      Renewal discounts only applicable for services due to renew before December 1st 2022.

      That's 12 1/2 months away. Did you last renewal take you over this mark? If so, I also suggest calling them and see if you can still have the discount apply for tacking on more time.

        You're right. But given my account just renewed for a year early this month, I would need to extend my service out to November 2023 in order to take advantage of the discount.

        Committing 2 years ahead is a bit much, even if I know I'll need hosting for that long. Who's to say my requirements won't outgrow VentraIP or shared hosting by then, or that VentraIP's speed and service levels will still be of the standard required.

        Either way, you are significantly advantaged by being on a month-to-month plan vs annual, so I would recommend people switch to this.
