[Club Plus] XTM Dual Air Compressor 250L/min 150PSI $49.99 (Was $299.99) @ Supercheap Auto

1230

Obviously not ARB quality but good price for large volume compressor. Reviews are good except the DOA units and the bag ripping.

    Just picked mine.

  • Wasn't able to order online so I gave the local store a call. Was told they had 2 left, and they couldn't hold it. Drove over immediately and picked the last one up! Give the stores a call around, they might have a couple here and there.

  • Ordered click and collect and picked up this morning at SCA Lawnton $49.99

  • Changed my store, but is now ready. Just 10 min extra drive. Msg received ready to pick up.

  • Picked up mine this morning, they mentioned it was a pricing error but as it was showing up on the website advertised at $49.99, they still honoured it. Thanks OP!

  • Just collected mine and was advised same thing, pricing mistake but orders will be honoured.

  • Make sure you check the item before leaving the store, silly me only looked at the invoice slip and not the box and when I got home realised it was the single (160L) model and not the Double (250L) one.

  • My local store just rang to say they have none in store atm but they are going to honor the price error. They said they will try to get one from another store for me but if they cant that they will hold the order in the system until they get more stock in. I'm happy to wait at that price.

  • Grabbed one at this bargain price. Nice spot OP.

My positive crocodile clamp appears corroded and has a much weaker spring than the negative. I tried to wipe the corrosion off but it's eaten into the copper!

    Is anyone else's the same?

    • It looks like it's been used to me and battery acid has corroded the clamp.

Take it back and request a refund/replacement/credit.

      • Thanks, that sounds exactly like what has happened. I thought they may have used an old stock/ previous model clamp as the spring is noticeably thinner and weaker grip.

They've pulled the compressor off the site - will wait a day or so and hopefully they'll have a replacement in stock.

  • Just picked it up. The box is huge, it's pretty heavy!
Great value for pumping up four wheel drive tyres, the smaller pumps just take aaaages

  • I connected this to my floor compressor with 45L tank, pressurised it from empty/neutral to 150PSI in about 3min 30sec. Doesn't appear to have a high pressure cutoff I turned it off myself at that pressure as the floor compressor tank is a bit dated and I normally have it cut out at 125PSI. Connectors and hose at the unit were too hot to hold comfortably in that time.

    Great find OP!

  • got the last stock from my local store. its on sale for $160, showed them website price and still sold it at 49.99 :D

  • Crazy good deal!

  • I think the dude at the checkout was a bit jelly. He told me head office had sent an email saying it was an ef-up. Glad I bought two. Great Xmas present for the old man.

    • Same story here. He told me that it was a mistake in the system and that I scored a deal.

    Just picked mine up.
4 in the cupboard behind the counter. Hello fellow Ozbargainers.
Staff made a big deal about the $50 compressor.
I heard it all, how they couldn't get one themselves, it's the wrong price, I shouldn't be allowed it, they called head office as soon as they saw it, they're losing money on each one, they should cancel it.
"Enjoy your $50 compressor" as I picked it up off the counter and walked out.
    Thanks, I will.

Bahahaha!! Like it wouldn't cost them much more than $50 anyway. Shops have been ripping us off for years! We got one back!

  • Got one…

      So why no upvote?

  • Picked up mine this morning, staff member didn't even blink and even offered to carry it to my car if it was too heavy.

Don't know if I should be offended by that or chuffed.

Ordered one of these at $149 this morning.
Came on here and saw people got them at $49….hates life.

  • Only got to collect mine last Monday. The store generously held it for me for a week and a half. The girl behind the desk wanted to know how I knew about it being sooooo cheap ;) She's now an OzB'er :)

  • Just got an email saying this compressor is recalled :)

$10 gift card + full refund for the inconvenience…

It appears the compressor has been recalled for a full refund. Damn it!

It won't be easy replacing this compressor for the money we paid. Is it worth sitting on it until a replacement model appears and going for a replacement instead of a refund?

    • Some people will commit fraud and say that they paid cash and lost the receipt to try and get the RRP refunded to them.

If it was me I would pull the plastic cover off and have a look at what’s going on inside, maybe replace the relays if possible or even just replace the plastic cover with steel one and be alert that it could catch fire.

      • isn't taking an advantage of an obvious pricing error fraud?

I'm going to take the risk on this one.

Pump your tyres and start camp fires all in one.

    • Unless you mount it permanently in the vehicle, it’s unlikely to cause a serious fire. You could just use it and keep it a bit away from the vehicle and be prepared to pull the cables off the battery if it does catch on fire.

    • Gutted that I missed out. I don't feel as bad now, but in all honesty, you could probably replace the relay.

Don't these have a thermal cut off anyway?
