ow!! just paid 2995 this morning.

    • +7

If it makes you feel any better, I paid $3800 for the 65" CX back in January. OzBargain people were adamant it would not drop below $3700 for a long long time.

      • +7

January was 10 months ago. I know 2021 flew by but this is a bit extreme lol

        • +1

Thats the model that's a year older though.

        • +1

It had big drops within a month of buying :)

      • Price always drop with any electronics

        • +1

not with GFX cards these days

          • @lostinsydney: That's cause of covid and short of supply. When the pandemic settled and manufacturing back to full swing they will come down eventually

            GFX is not good investment.

            • @neonlight: You don’t know what you are on about!

gfx cards like rx480 580 5700xt etc have been out for 4-5 years and now selling for 2-3x original price!

It is because of crypto, if anything crypto is going mainstream rather than away!

Even when eth mining stops in late 2022, you will still be able to mine other coins!

      • BUHAHAHA! One should be believe the so called experts on this site.

    • have you got delivery yet and opened it? if not, you can call them and ask for price difference.

    • Some credit cards have shopping protection for issues like this.

      • Mine doesn't cover for online purchases though…

  • +3

    Wtf incredible

    • +3

Getting closer to pre covid prices

      • I felt so bad for my mate i told him to buy it for $3060 from powerland as black friday has never provided good deals on oled tvs before

        • +2

I bought it for that price… do you feel sorry for me, too? Please, I need it.

          • +4

@astroghouls: You can get my sympathy as I published that deal. Sorry to all the purchasers.

  • good to see a drop!

  • +8

Drop the 77 inch price god damn it

    • 77" $5690, watch if tgg ebay update their price over coming days & stacks with code

      • I have seen that price but can't justify it given the 65 is nearly 3k less. I expect we will see a drop tonight/tomorrow for 77 but how much is the question

    • IKR!! In the US the 77C1 black friday deals are something like $4200 AUD equivalent… sure add another 10-20% for Australia tax you'd sadly expect, but if demand forecasts outstrips supply we likely won't see much cheaper than past sales of $5600*.

    • 77” is $4995 - $250 + $40 delivery with bing lee ebay.

      Similar for the 83”, $6995 - $300 and $55 delivery with TGG’s listing.

The G1 and A80J/A90J haven’t moved at all yet, I don’t expect they will though.

  • Easiest way to get quick ebay vouchers to further reduce the price by ~5%?

  • +33

RIP those who paid $2,995 an hour ago

    • +1

      my condolences

      • +3

        Sorry about your loss.

        (of cash)

  • +3

Offft just paid $2905 this morning for it..

  • +2

any deals with the 77 inch LG or Sony?

    • Yes, the 77” and 83” are listed now, and the same code works for a $250/$300 discount respectively

  • +3

It surely will not get better for this tv, if you're in the market now is this time especially leading up to Christmas. Amazing TV

    • +2

The TV was a decent price at $2,995 given world events.
      This price is outrageous.

    • I mean, new models are early next year… Its gonna come down regardless..

  • Wow. That's an amazing price.

  • +2

Woah…is it time?! I've been waiting since C8.

  • I bought this tv from TGG about a month ago for 2700 after they told me their system was allowing them to drop it that low. Insanely good TV worth every $.

  • Price can't get any better than this for now. Grab it while you can.

  • -6

Dammit bought it 4 months now im crying :(

    • +8

At least you’ve enjoyed it for 4 months now?

    • Why? Stub your toe?

  • Oh baby

  • grabbed one using 28 degrees card wanted 75inch but ill use this and if want larger move it to the bedroom

    ty op great price

  • Buying this has made my day!

  • +3

What does it take to fill that gaping hole in your life?

    The answer is 65 inches.

    • +1

If only. Now it's an 83 inched hole !

  • That's an awesome deal for an awesome telly! Highly recommended once you go OLED game over.

  • Agh! Do i cancel my order from this morning and go this one?

  • Reckon we'll see the G1 go on sale any time soon?

    • +1

It’s on sale at HN $4500 down to $3995. They told me it’s not going down any more

  • +8

Can anyone vouch for these newer LGs and burn in? I got a 2017 C series and it looks horrible now always had the brightness set to medium ran the pixel refresh every now and then and had the eco options are on. Foxtel music channels first destroyed it with its static images now it's got channel 9 and bunch of other stuff there forever and all the colours just look wrong. So longevity on these are not the greatest.

    • +4

You will still get the same sort of issues, they do have a more aggressive algorithm to combat ir but you will still have issues with Foxtel etc.
I had major issues with an aging plasma which I nursed, the issue was the content I would watch was always displaying in the same corners.
I recently replaced my plasma with a dual cell and could not be happier.

EDIT do not know why you're getting voted down when you asked a legitimate question.

    • +1

Did you contact LG about it? I had a similar issue with a C6, and through a combination of outstanding support from LG and Costco, I was able to return it for a refund after nearly 3 years of use. Worth a try.

    • +1

Chat with LG Australia about the circumstances when contrasted with their claims, and you might find they'll replace the unit.

They're not expecting you to have a TV that degrades within 5 years of normal use.

    • I have a CX55 and no issues since March purchase and my TV is usually on one of the FoxSport channels all weekend every weekend. Otherwise I use a win10 HTPC with the taskbar on. I think they really got aggressive with the logo shift anti burn in settings from C9 onwards.

    • Unlucky you got that model. From the C8 onwards burn in has decreased a lot and is getting better all the time. Still not perfect but takes more to do it. If you do have static images on it then just play some content with constantly moving pictures for a few minutes before turning it off. It will get all the pixels moving again

  • +1

    Give me a cheap 48" :D

    • +11

sorry mate, never seen a 48" D in my life

      • Pm me for my address

        • sorry mate, I'm confused. Are you looking for a cheap 48" or you supply a cheap 48"?

          • @ntt: I'm after a 48" C1 TV. I thought you wanted a 48" D?

      • +3

Watch some of those whale / elephant docco's then

  • +2

Really wanted the A80J because the LG OS is bad but… At this price may as well grab it plus a Google TV?

    • +1

I got my A80J for this price, actually just less.

      • +2

        Jesus, when?

        • Sorry, I'm an idiot, I looked at the ex-GST price, I paid $3005 for it.

    • $99 Google TV fixes everything.

    • +1

Using the 77C1 and I think the OS is pretty good compared to my previous Samsung.. don't know why it gets such a bad rap

      • It’s mostly just the app availability. Mostly.

I don’t hate the C1, but the CX is just easier to figure out and switch between inputs. The trade off is that the C1 is faster… as long as you block the ads. Same with Tizen.

Samsung Tizen has the same junk-filled UI issues, as both app stores for WebOS/Tizen end up filled with junk / Asian market apps & ads, instead of usable or new apps.

Google/Android is more flexible. Sure, the apps can sometimes crash, but its once or twice a month. And while the 3/4 sized “content suggestion” ad is annoying, and cant be switched off, or changed unless google gets paid to advertise another “popular” movie … its only obnoxious.

LG WebOS has a lot of “popular” apps, but not Kayo or Binge, Paramount+ etc. so you have to either get the Apple TV, Shield or a GC w GTV to get those apps, or stream from a phone/tablet instead.

IDK if the PS5 or Xbox have Binge/Kayo, or Paramount+. Or the other 2019-2021 streaming sites. I think you can add some via AppleTV, but its not worth the $9+/month.

Apple TV is also a popular option, but I’m holding out for a refreshed model.

IMHO, The Shield generally works better if you don’t need a 4K bluray or PS5/XSX console. Especially the toblerone remote. Its quite strange, but the Shield is much, much faster than any of the Google TV’s I’ve tried. Even the new GTV chromecast, which should beat it handily. IDK. It still has a similar CPU as the Nintendo Switch from ~2013, so, its barely utilised, and its been upgraded to handle AI upscaling from Nvidia in the new refresh (AFAIK the Shield AI upscaling only works on non-DRM, non-streaming apps, so its not perfect)

That said, the C1 isn’t horrible, its well above adequate for a TV UI. If you never try any other options, its good enough.

        • It's not really up to LG to make Binge, Paramount+ apps for those companies. I think Binge's app offering in general is piss poor on every device (iOS, Android mobile and Google TV).

Even on Google TV, Binge doesn't properly integrate with the services so that shows can be reccomended properly in the UI. When you compare the interface with Disney+, or any competitor except Amazon, Binge really shows it's lack of quality - annoyingly given the content is some of the best.

I have a CX and tried using a Google TV on it over WebOS for a week (primarily due to Binge and that I like the aggregation features of the UI) but ended up going back, losing the magic remote functionality wasn't worth it when you can cast that app from your phone anyway.

  • Thanks Op, great price!

Can’t believe the A1 “65 is still listed as $2995 on their eBay store…who would buy an A1 over a cheaper C1 😃

  • +2

From 3 Sold to 24 Sold in the last 15 minutes.

    Good job, OZB.

    Edit. Now 50.

  • What’s the chance of them still available later this week? I am getting the feeling there will be an eBay funded 10-15% off eligible items which have been happening once a fortnight…

    • +3

Good luck lol, if you want one I'd commit before it's too late

    • At this price if you really want this TV it's probably not worth pushing your luck with stock levels and a deal that may or may not happen

      • Exactly and how much more would they actually take off. Doubtful, if they do it wouldn't be more than $100

    • At this price? Unlikely. Do it now!

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Got 2

    • +5

Nice, congrats on your 130" OLED!

      • I knew I should've bought 3 for 195"!

      • Wouldn't you need 4 to get 130"?

        • +2

When I worked at a institution that shall remain unnamed, one of the senior exec organised for a quartet of 85" LED screens - which several years ago were very expensive indeed, plus the cost of the additional hardware to drive them - to be put in his office as a wall screen. His justification was that he wanted to be able to keep track of numerous graphs and figures and stuff at once. What actually happened was that the screens spent 99% of their time showing wallpaper images and 1% of the time as a massive videoconference screen.

Almost immediately, all the other senior execs got screen envy and had to have similar setups installed in their own offices. Most of which also spent their time displaying wallpapers.

I shudder to think what the total cost of this exercise in ego and dick swinging ended up being. Heavily into the six figures without doubt.

  • +1

Get jb to price match and the use gc for another 15% off

    Final price 2331

    • Would they price match an eBay 5% discount?

      • doesnt hurt to ask… even if you didn't get that extra 5% … still better to get the gc

        • @hippyhippy did you price match over phone call (to a store) or you did it in-store?

    • Where did you get 15% off gc?

  • -2

I have been saving money on this and time to buy one.
But I have LG smart TV 2016 that has no issue at all.
Should I pull the trigger? or wait for 2022 for further price drop?
    Tell me quickly..

    • +1

Upgrading from a 2016 Sony smart TV too. I'd say it's a big upgrade for me, checked it out yesterday in store, i personally prefer the A80J from Sony. But there's no discount at all and C1 is close enough in terms of quality. (and i've just ordered the LG one)

  • F to the people who bought the Betta deal this afternoon

    • +2

Next minute another deal will come later today to beat this deal…

      • Unless there's a $2400 bargain dropping this evening, then it's not really the same thing. Even if it doesn't, I do hope you feel better, though…

        • 77 inch dropping for under $5k is now tempting too..
