Kingston Fury Beast RGB 16GB (2x8GB) 3600MHz DDR4 CL17 RAM $100 Delivered ($90 with eBay Plus) @ Scorptec eBay

220
PLBFSS

First post, sorry in advance if I made an error.

The PNY Ram posted recently was great but with the shipping it added up to more than I wanted to pay. Looked around and found this which turned out cheaper for me with the $10 eBay plus voucher and free shipping.

Timings: 17-21-21
Model: KF436C17BBAK2/16

Kingston website and spec sheet if anyone is interested: https://www.kingston.com/en/memory/search?partId=KF436C17BBA…

Is it any good? Honestly I don't know but I just bought a pair for my upcoming cheap PC build.

Edit: looks like there is plenty of stock!! Also please note this is 3600CL17 ram. Just be mindful about comparing this to 3200CL14 etc as this is CL17 and not the more common CL16 / CL14

Those are 3200MHz? Not the same kit.

      Different speed.

  • $10 cheaper from this pool of 3600mhz ram.

The 32GB 3600CL18 kit appears to be good value as well for $160.28 after discount. We’ve been seeing 3200CL16 kits over the last few days at this price.

    • It's awesome to see prices come down on ram sticks!

  • "Just be mindful about comparing this to 3200CL14"
So is this one better or 3200CL14?

    • Hey Ricky, sorry I fixed up the wording! I just meant to be mindful about the clocks and cas latency when comparing as this is a CL17 and not the common CL18/CL16/CL14 etc. Gamers Nexus did a pretty good video on Ryzen 3000 comparing MHz & CL against each other. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IY_KlkQK1Q The 3600@CL16 ended up marginally better than the 3200@CL14.

But a 3600@CL17 - who knows where exactly that is haha, but we are talking about very minor differences between it all anyway. A normal user probs won't even notice the difference. One thing I like about the faster MHz ram is that at least with 3600MHz on the ram you can get your Infinity Fabric on Ryzen up to 1800MHz no drama, can't say the same about the 3200MHz ram.

  • For those looking for a cheap set with RGB amazon has these for $129 now https://www.amazon.com.au/Crucial-Ballistix-Unbuffered-PC4-1…

    Micron too.

  • Just here to warn people that the RAM shielding and exterior falls off if your PC runs hot. Bought these earlier in the year and not im stuck with 2 ugly green RAM sticks cause the black and white casing unglued itself and fell off. Pretty annoying but oh well.

    • Wow

Lies.. the PCB is clearly black in all the images.

Your right, mine aren't the 'beast' version. But does it really matter? The casing fell off and now i have 4 dots instead of nice looking RGB. If i could take a photo and post it i would.

        • They "may" have fixed this issue with the heatsinks on this new version.

          • @vid_ghost: Potentially, if they've replaced the adhesive with a better one. Though casing itself appears exactly the same for all RGB Fury models (from my quick google).

Meh, better to let people know of my issues then not. Then others can forms judgements or look into it further if they wish.

            • @Pazanski: If you still have the shielding you should be able to fix it by using adhesive designed for electronics/PCs.
