2gb ram would make this unusuable imo. I got the lenovo chromebook duet for double the price and it is basically like a mini laptop. Excellent value for $275

    • I cant imagine this would be usable at all, I just returned and after 7 weeks finally got my refund from Lenovo on a previous P11 (non pro) deal. It struggled with basic Youtube and Web surfing. Lenovo charged me a $60 restocking fee. Never again

      • You refunded the P11 for poor performance? seems pretty good on paper.

        • The standard p11 yes, the p11 pro is likely night and day better.

          • @WhiteEvo6: Damn, I was close to pulling the trigger on the P11. So guessing that Tha galaxy tab A7 will be equally as bad? Given it has less ram.

Mid range tablets haven't really had a chance so I like second hand flagships, preferably from a trade forum instead of ebay for deals. tab 4, tab 6 lite. Depends on your use case really but they can be very cheap so if the RAM and 3 year Old SoC suit, it'll be better than any mid-range tablet ;)

Lenovo often release quite different devices depending on the region.heres a deal with the p11 and its successor The Lenovo XiaoXin Pad Pro (Lenovo Tab P11 Pro). the comparison chart is worth a look.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/655967 It was selling for under $400 earlier this month. There are a few good cash back deals from shop back and cash rewards. add black Friday/cyber Monday sales and you might find some good deals.

I figured I'd check them out so grabbed a Tab p11 pro with the 7% ebay sitewide cashback so I missed out on todays deals. specs below.
              https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/658850

Android tablets are weird. There are almost no midrange tablets that don't have a serious flaw. Lack of ram and low res tft screens and poor SoCs shouldnt be featured on all midrange devices. At least ram is trickling in to keep up with minimum os requirements if nothing else. Screens as well have come a long way in the last 2 years.

I had hope for the A series tab when they upgraded the res ram and soc but the issue is now storage. Samsung removed the option to install to sd cards (and the dev option to use the sd card as a primary boot device. 32gb with os and non removable apps leaves something like 12 or 14 which might be fine for very specific use cases, streaming, social media etc. you can still keep photos or videos on sd cards. It just feels like cripling the device to push sales of the higher margin stuff.

We don't have the competition here that you get in the US and China and it shows. I'm hoping to see Lenovo make a push and amazon fire tablets with decent enough specs to make samsung try.

Lenovo does the same. our p11 or maybe one before that was pretty damn nice. until they replaced the SoC with a bad mediatek one.

    • i want to buy one too, but some of the reviews i have read ar very bad,
slow, lag, bug, how is urs ?

      • Not sure if the p11 pro deal linked above is to you liking (watch/ read some reviews for sure)

    • Would 2 GB really make this unusable? Scouting a cheap tablet to use as a nav / spotify unit for my folks' old car, and this seems like it would fit the bill.

      • Hmm…it would be extremely painful…for them.

It would definitely make it useless for multitasking. Maybe it could handle 1 app okay but it might hangup here and there.

Have you watched any reviews, they might show how it performs in real world.

        • Yeah found one that was specifically relative to what my folks want out of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-gjVd08RuQ

TL;DR- Functions ok if purely just infotainment, but lagging GPS function fails it as a NAV unit.

Also found on Lenovo support forums that alot of people have problems when upgrading past Android 9, which Lenovo is ignoring (seems to be a common thread as they were very delayed when I RNA'ed a Ideapad Flex earlier this year.)

Might just bite the bullet and go with who ever has a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite on special, still works out cheaper than what my folks originally wanted (aftermarket Android Auto head unit).

          • @DreadEmperor: Yeah, tab a7 lite might be better.

The Lenovo Chromebook duet is in sale for $275. It has 4gb ram and is reasonably fast. I'm using it as a mini laptop ATM. Not sure if it has GPS but have a look at that one.

  • I wonder if this would be good for wall mounting and using it as an interface for Home Assistant..

This thing is dreadfully slow. We have one sitting on the "I.T. shit & mistake purchases we have made".

It was enough to turn me right off Lenovo

    • I don't think it's entirely fair to blame Lenovo for this thing being so slow. I don't think any Android tablet in 2021 is going to do well with 2GB RAM… but I guess we can blame Lenovo for thinking it is okay to put 2GB RAM in a tablet

  • +1

    Only 2GB Ram?
    Can't use with 5G internet.
Seriously, the technical specs are outdated.
    Not worth to buy.

  • This is horribly slow, even for 144. It's really barely usable for anything. I owned one. Sold it, bought the one with 4GB RAM. The 4GB RAM was great.

    • Is it the M10 FHD you're referring to with the 4GB? I have that one it's still noticeably laggy in my opinion. I bought it for some basic web browsing and youtube, and it's usable but laggy enough that I never use it and have gone back to using the phone instead.

  • Anything under $200 which is better than this? Need it for my 2 year old

    • +1

      Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite

      • Who has it for under $200? Seems the specials have dried up.

        • it was $179 few weeks back, just wait for a few more weeks c if it drops back dorp be4 xmas.

  • Pretty sure these have both expired now. Officeworks says $223.00 unavailable online. And JB HiFi says $249 also unavailable online.
