Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021 (11.5" OLED, 6GB/128GB SD870, Widevine L1) $561.89 + $26.68 Postage = $588.57 @ Sunsky

2080

Hi fellow OzBargain peeps,

Hope you're all well. If not shoot me a pm, R U OK day might be over but you can still message me and I'll do my best to reply :)

Good price on this Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021. I've been watching it for a while and it's just dropped from $584.55 to $566.46 ($18.09 off) + $26.96 postage = $593.41 delivered. If your after a high end tablet for Christmas this is a great deal.

The next cheapest is Banggood for $622.32 delivered

The Lenovo XiaoXin Pad Pro 2021 Night Aurora is available for $1.37 more. $562.32 + 32.46 postage = $594.78 delivered.

Yes this tablet has Widevine L1, you'll be able to watch Netflix in HD. Also, it supports USB C to HDMI out.

This tablet has the Snapdragon 870. The 888 is currently the fastest SOC, but there are no tablets available with the 888, so this tablet is the fastest SOC you can get.

This would make a great tablet for gaming, especially for emulators. If I hadn't bought the 2020 version tablet from this deal I would've jumped on this and loaded it with a 512GB SD card for emulator gaming on the go out at friends.

A comparison between this one and last year's model.

Xiao Xin as in be careful? What a funny name for a tablet.

    • +13

      Nah, it's "little new"

      • +3

Nah, it's "la bi xiao xin". <== google it. just kidding, different xiao xin… :D

    • +1

They call their laptops this as well. Which get made Ideapad or Yoga in other markets.

    • +12

you'd think it was an HP with this omen

    • -2

Even the name was stolen from an old Japanese anime…LOL

  • +50

Oled for sub $600, and widevine?! Thats the first tempting tablet ive seen in ages….

Though, does my bedside porn machine really need $600 thrown at it?

    • +28

Porn will look amazing on its 11.5" 2560x1600 OLED Dolby Vision screen, and a SD card to store all that porn on!

      • +13

Not when its shot on 480p shakeycam.
But i suppose panel level upscaling never hurt.

    • +1

Get projector and you can watch on 100"

      • +8

        Can confirm. Inches matter

      • +3

Nah dude VR is where is at

      • +1

Nah dude, VR is where is at ✌️

      • I have a 140" screen. And have done this.
There's just something above a vagina bigger than the entirety of your whole person, thats no longer a turn on…

and dolby atmos to make you feel like you're in the midst of the action.
careful about overuse though could make for some awkward logo burn-ins

      • +16

Wait, you're telling me that Brazzers logo wasn't always in Die Hard?

    • +1

For $600, I would recommend saving up a bit more and getting a VR device like a HP Reverb G2 for the ultimate porn experience

      • Tots agree. Mates got a VR headset, it's definitely the way of the future!

      • I'm saving my money and waiting for the Samsung S8 with SD888 due soon. Samsung also guarantees 3 Android updates which this one doesn't.

    • +1

Its winevine but doesnt have higher then 1080p for netflix and even lower for prime.

Its super weird, i dont understand how thats even possible.

      • +1

Netflix and Amazon need to whitelist the device from their end.

    • OLED will help to see those deep blacks…

  • +2

Keen to hear from those who have the previous model, or whatever. How is it?
Wanting to get something around this price point for movies/netflix, and casual use.
Tossing up between android and chromebook (lenovo duet)

    • +5

Highly recommend. Upgraded from an iPlay 20s to the Xiaoxin Pad and the screen is a joy to use. Main use is media consumption, the tablet is really snappy and feels really premium.

  • +9

The playstore is loadable just by using the tablet, EN and CN languages only. Widevine L1 may drop if you OTA software update the tablet. Its not whitelisted for HDR on netflix so 1080p only. Amazon prime runs at SD. You cant replace the launcher.

    • Useful info, thanks :)

    • Text is blurry for eBooks/pdfs.

      • Maybe at the smallest font size? nothing I've noticed is blurry

      • +1

Definitely on the 2021? I know 2020 is pentile.

    • So…. What's the point of posting for widevine if Netflix is being useless?

      • 1080p Netflix is certainly better than 480p. It's not like you can get 4K.

      • what?

        • Typo. Posting = paying

          • @justtoreply: Widevine works as intended and allows for higher quality. Some apps require whitelisting of your device for higher quality features/HDR in addition to the widevine cert.

    • +1

That's pretty dogshit… Risk losing widevine if you ever update the tablet software? I wouldn't be spending $600 on a tablet that you can't even get software updates on.

      • +2

It's sold in international markets as the Lenovo P11 Pro (2021). You can load those ROMs on it and OTA as normal without losing Widevine.

        • I thought I read on XDA this one (the 2021 P11 pro) was never released in international markets so doesn't have international ROMs? Only the 2020 p11 pro does.

Could be wrong though, only skimmed through.

          • +1

@Binchicken22: Yes I think you're right because it's not in their Android Update Matrix. It certainly could come as they released the XiaoXin Plus as the P11 Plus internationally. The downside is that SD750G was replaced with a MediaTek.

    • Are you sure you still can't replace the launcher?

Some of the reviews say that the gestures on most launchers will have issues on older ROMs (i.e July) due to not being able to properly install apps with accessibility service permissions but various sources suggest the latest CN ROM (September?) sorts most of these issues out…?

      • I know you cant on the factory ROM without updates. Maybe an update fixes it, haven't tried.

  • +1

Dang that is a reasonable price

  • +1

Thank you, OP! I just purchased it. It looks like a good tablet for watching movies and occasional games. This will be great to go side by side with my Samsung Tab S7+ that my wife kept stealing from me.

  • +1

Just curious what emulators you'd suggest for tablet gaming?

    • +6

Retroarch.. You can pretty much play every emulators on it. Has auto games cover update also..

    • Egg NS. lol. But need a special controller and extension cable. However, the 6GB RAM probably won't cut it or can't run things as good..
Do love that SD Card though.

    • +1

      Retroarch is the best AIO.

A guy above said you can get covers and stuff, but I wasn't able to get it (just time constraints, can't tinker around). So I use Dolphin for GameCube and Wii, PPSSPP for PSP, ePSXe for PlayStation 1, and DaemonPS2 for PS2 games. I run all these emulators on my Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro and get full frames, even on most of the PS2 games I've got.

The Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro has the Snapdragon 865 (which is a high end SOC), it has got 6GB/128GB.
The Snapdragon is basically a higher clocked 865.
You should definitely be able to emulate PS2 games at full speed on this tablet, even the ones were my phone struggles a little bit.

  • What's the battery like on these?

    • Battery life seems great, I leave mine at 60hz though. I charge it twice a week. The included 20w charger is quite fast too.

  • +2

That's a nice overall package, has anyone purchased from Sunsky before?

    • Probably. They've been around for a while.

    • I've used them a few times. Bought my Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro from them, never had any trouble with them.

      • The Chilean Peso that came up as the default currency threw me for a bit.
I'm willing to overlook it as their price for screens is half of what everyone else is charging for the Asus ROG II.

  • Plus what about warranty

    headphone jack?

    • +1

nope, it does have amazing quad speakers and a TYPE-C to headphone jack adapter in the box.

  • +1

How is this tablet compare to the Samsung top ender?

    • +2

Compared to s7, better hardware (a pretty good OLED vs a very good LCD, SD870 vs SD855) but crappier software support (don't expect any software updates with Lenovo android. Samsung will give you 3 android versions and security updates and ensure widevine L1 support) but at two thirds the price.

Compared to the s7+, I believe the screen is not as good but the chip is still better but less RAM. It is also a lot cheaper (half the price).

If money is no issue then the tab S8 with SD888 should be launching soon.

  • +1

    Is this price GST included?

I think Banggood price is GST included.

  • +9

I like the fact that the review you've linked mentioned the latency of the stylus. That plus the palm rejection would be something that someone who uses the stylus for jotting things down would notice the most.

    • +1

Thanks for finding those reviews. I'll add them to the op and give credit to you

  • What’s the android support on these tablets ? Otherwise the Samsung S7fe would be an alternative and has a 3 year android upgrade support.

    • +4

Don't expect any software updates from Lenovo for Android. The S7 FE has much worse hardware but Samsung does have better software support. It's a personal preference trade off.

  • +2

Anyone know if this has a pentile screen?

I'm waiting for the new tablet out next month though,
    Specs look amazing

Let's see what the price will be vs this one.

    • Not sure. If Google can't find it @Clear would be the person to ask :)

Not sure tbh. Would be good to know.

Is this deal still available? Which one is better?

    • +1

It's still available. The 2021 model is the best. Just be careful that you don't accidentally buy last year's model for $398.31 that's available to select just below "options"
