      • I guess they dont work on weekends then?

        • -1

          Do you?

          • +1

@TEER3X: Yeh I do, I get paid $90 an hour washing dishes

            • @Homr: pls share the details.. may be I'll do this on weekend. better than driving Uber.

        • They seem like a modern company so I guessed they would at least have automation for some type of orders such as FTTP, but no doesn't seem like to be the case.

        • They do work on the weekends

          Weekdays: 8am - 9pm
          Saturday: 9am - 6pm
          Sunday: 12pm - 6pm

Today is Sunday so I would assume they will start processing any time now until 6pm.

          • @jmytch: Just placed my order now, hopefully get connected by 6pm today.

            • @Homr: Awesome, hopefully it gets connected by 6pm. Did you get any confirmation email or text sms? One of my friend signed up last night and he gave them a call, saying his order isnt on the system like seriously. They will have to come out with an explanation of why they didn't receive anybody's application from last night o.O

              • +1

@jmytch: I got no communication at all from them like everyone else.

                • @Homr: I'm coming up to 20 hours since I submitted the order.

                  • @Futura: Call up and ask if your order is in the system. It is pretty poor if they dont have anyone's application from last night.

                  • @Futura: It's starting to become a joke

                    • @Homr: Yeah true, unfortunately Carol from Swoop have replied in the comments here. She said they only do transfer churns between Mon to Fri. Not on the weekends. Bit strange since NBN can do it on weekend too where I did with ABB and SL before :-/

                      • +1

@jmytch: Yes very strange………..red flags already?

          • @jmytch: Still nothing from them. LOL.

            • @kds5pp: I dont like making excuses for other people but keep in mind this is a small organization compared to the big boys.
Carol (usually answers questions on Whirlpool) has just commented on such….

…and things will get processed on Monday. Hope that eases your tension a little ;P

    • +1

We process orders between 9am and 5pm Mon-Fri. You should expect to receive a response tomorrow.

      • +1

        yay finally a reply

  • Can we specify a connection date? My current plan is still running for a few weeks.

    • I believe there's a notes section in the order form where you can specify a date. If not, after you place your order you can email [email protected] and let us know the preferred date.

      • Thank you Carol,

There was no notes section, but I have emailed. I hope the connection date will be scheduled as requested.

      • Can confirm no section to put any notes

      • +1

Just received a phone call from Swoop. Scheduling a date for connection is not possible.

  • I’ve got nbn built into my apartment building (built 2015). Can I pause my month-to-month Aussie broadband and sign up to this then cancel after 12 months and go back to Aussie? Currently paying $65 per month with Aussie.

    • Wouldn't you be better off cancelling ABB all together so when you come back you'll be a "new customer" and be eligible for their new customer discounts? (if they have any)

      • Wouldn't they know he is a old customer by the address he enters?

        • As long as you've been cancelled for 6 months you can usually join as a "new customer" again.

          • @Tinqer: Alright, I'll keep switching to take advantage of deals. Awesome!

  • I was going to submit a second order since it's been about 20 hours since I submitted my initial order and not hearing anything and I've noticed that the 250 & 1000 plans no longer have the free 2 months offer.

    • Thanks for pointing that out, Ive updated the post.

    • We process orders between 9am and 5pm Mon-Fri. You should expect to receive a response tomorrow.

  • I just noticed the premium ones are no longer available for the 2 free months. I signed up last night but have no email yet. I did however screen shot the approval…..

    • I also screenshot the approval

      • I only did it to show a friend so I don’t get the entire message. Was there an order number?

    • We process orders between 9am and 5pm Mon-Fri. You should expect to receive a response tomorrow.

    • I wonder if they will honor it for the ones that already ordered

  • +4

Hi all! I'm Carol from Swoop.

Expect order processing to commence tomorrow morning. We've had an amazing response and we'll be playing catch up for a couple of days, most likely, but will be working to complete your requests as quickly as possible.

    Thanks for the support :)

    • Thanks Carol, looks like its going to be a busy day for your team tomorrow

    • +1

Hi Carol, will my original 1000/50 order be honoured as I submitted a subsequent order the following day for a 100/40 service as the 1000/50 wasn't showing as free for 2 months anymore.

      • +1

I expect we'll honor the options you had available at the time of sign up, even if that offer has subsequently been closed. We'll confirm as we process tomorrow.

        • Hey I called up to schedule a connection as it wouldn't let me online but they said I'd be called back tomorrow. Does this mean I'll miss out on the 1000/50 free 2 months? Thank you.

          • +2

@Xeonelite: damn man, you should know the rules here. Sign up, think later

          • +1

@Xeonelite: Please email [email protected], subject Att: Carol, and refer to this post. I'll intervene tomorrow to sort that out for you.

        • I just received a call from sales team saying they wont honor the initial signup. disappointed

          • @kazer: Why? What did you signup for ?

Did they provide a reason or compromise ?

            • @HardQuiz: i signed up to the nbn1000/50. they said that plan was advertised by mistake and it is not available. basically told me the best they could do was 100/40

          • @kazer: Update : i sent them an email and pointed out others were getting it honored. got a call just now and they were happy to honor the same for me too.

  • Does anyone know what type of connection settings does Swoop use for FTTN? DHCP or PPPoE? Couldn't find this on their website with a quick Googling.

Also are these behind CGNAT? A routable public IP is useful for some use cases

    • +2

      We use PPPoE. No CGNAT.

      • Will we get an email with login details, Exetel didn't send me one last time and I had to call up which is an annoyance.

      • So you give dynamic IP or static IP to the customers?

        • Dynamic. Static IP available for $5.50/month

      • Thank you for the prompt reply!

  • Hello Swoop rep, I signed up this morning. Given the weekend backlog, when can I expect to received confirmation email ?

    • With higher than expected take up, we're forecasting a couple more days to process all orders. Sorry for the delay.

  • Got phone call from swoop, say it will take 1-3 days to active thr service
    Good one.

    • Geeewhiz… No automation then or it must go to a wholesaler to be processed.

    • When did you sign up? Because I haven't heard anything from them. Although, I'm not in a rush,
they could of handle it better by sending emails to confirm the orders.

  • +1

    Still no email, wtf?

    • Same. Give it a few days I guess? I wanted it to start on the 1st of the month, so not too concerned if it takes a couple days.

      • Exactly, it's a great deal so waiting shouldn't be an issue.

      • my superloop runs out on the 6th and they have already issued me an invoice.

But come on, FTTP should've been automatic

  • -1

So they cut out your current internet while changing over which takes 1-3 business days…. Wtf

    • Wow that is not right thing to do as your current internet should not be disconnected until the time is closer to churn over to new provider when activating the service.

1-3 days without internet seriously, not looking good

    • They cut your NBN service?

    • +1

Please don't tell me they churn FTTP instead of just activating on spare UNI-D port?

      • +3

        Ok, Nobody tell him.

      • Lol, well if not on FTTP then FTTN still dont need to be disconnected as new provider would only activate the service when it gets closer rather than dropping current existing internet connection and wait 1-3 business days is a joke these days.

Should not be out without internet for that long but for only 5-10 minutes like ABB/SL then that makes more sense right? FTTN can even get connected fast with SL/ABB in just 10 minutes, if not delayed for a hour or two which is alot less than business days.

    • +1

surely you heard it wrong. You can have 4 services connected with FTTP

      • -1

No… They said that they cut it out while the order is processing… which can take 1-3 business days…

        • +1

I will go ape shit if i go home today and find out my FTTP is cut

          • +1

@Homr: True, that what I would feel exactly. Should not take days tbh, should be minutes to 1 hour max imo.

    • If your current service has stopped, that should mean the wholesaler has processed a churn. At that point, it should be ready to go with us - you'll just need to program your router with our PPPoE settings.

  • Had a call from rep, order processed, received some emails including login details so far so good! Fingers crossed for connection, confirmed they won't churn service over as FTTP and will connect on spare UNI-D port.

    • which nbn plan did you sign up to?

      • 1000/50. Orders will be processed in next couple of days, sounds like they are doing it manually.

        • wtf. the rep just called me today morning and said it was a mistake and they cant process my 1000/50. said the best they could do was 100/40

          • @kazer: Odd. Are you on FTTP?

              • +1

@kazer: ok. I haven't heard anything about my own plan yet but will let you know

                • +1

@Tinqer: I wonder how they determine who to sign up first, because I saw the deal before the post and I haven't heard a thing.

          • @kazer: From order email after phone call

Plan: Swoop NBN Home Ultrafast 1000/50 Unlimited
            Promo Code: BLACKNBN

          • @kazer: Poor form if that's the case

      • Update : i sent them an email and pointed out others were getting it honored. got a call just now and they were happy to honor the same for me too.

  • I asked to schedule my activation as I already paid for my current plan for a few more weeks.

Was told this isn't possible and service is already connected now. Signed up pretty late yesterday.

    • are you connected already? FTTN or FTTP?

      When did you sign up?

      • I signed up late last night. FTTB

Maybe they signed me up quicker as I requested for a later date connection?

        • What speed? Looks like 1000/50 will not get honored

  • So Please tell me do they honor the 1000/50 plan or will give me a call and saying no luck for me. :(

    • Looks like it won't be honored. I'm on the same boat, FTTP 1000/50

  • Still waiting for a call from a rep, still nothing so far today. Signed up yesterday afternoon, and strange Franconian mentioned he signed up late night last night, so they did his earlier than mine? Aint they doing the order list in queue so how does late night sign up get in first before the people who signed up in the afternoon does not make any sense. Are they doing the queue backwards?

    • I submitted my order Saturday and have received a call

  • Anyone get a confirmation email yet?

    • Yes after they called me, didn't get any over the weekend when I submitted the order/web form.

      • did you 1000/50 get honored?

        • Yes.
