  • anyone know if the complete access account is considered an everyday account?

    • i would say yes, the full name for your account is "Everyday Account Complete Access"

HSBC offers $100 for day to day account, but you have to stay with them at least 10 months to get whole bonus.

    • yep, getting it without any hassles. i just shuffle $2k through the account at the beginning of each month. their high interest serious saver account sucks though (make a withdrawal and you get no interest for the month), which stops me from seriously using it

      • Same here. April (next month) will be my last month.

So technically after 2 months you'll only get $40 since you'll have to pay $5 account fees per month lol

    • +1

Pay no monthly fees if you deposit $2,000 or more a month

  • Why not to existing customers with existing everyday account? Discrimination?

    • +6

They already have your business so why would they want to give you money.

  • +1

    False advertising…
"Start with $50 in my new Everyday account"

More than likely they won't give you the $50 until June 30. By which time I would be moving my money to another instituition with a similar deal. CBA title suggests that they give you the money day 1.

Technically it shoud be "End with $50 in my new Everyday account"

given that the promotion started on the 11/3 i would be cautious

  • Have to pay me more than $50 to join one of the major banks!!

  • Guys, if you sign up to these lucrative offers, take the money and close your account…does the bank 'blacklist' you for future applications seeing as they couldn't charge you fees/interest etc?

    • +1

I highly doubt it would be worth their while..

They will have probably factored in the Ozbargainers who they will not make any money off into their calculations of how many real customers they expect to pull in..

  • I assume they won't be telling you if the 10,000 is already reached by the time you sign up… will find out on 30 June I guess if / when the $50 gets deposited into your account… or not deposited… as the case may be.

  • Do we need to keep the money in there? Can I say deposit $2000 every month and then take it out the next day? I will always keep around $5 in my account. Do I get the $50 bonus this way? And then, can I close the account once I receive the $50?

    • you can do it. they only need to see a minimum of $2k being transferred for their records. your money is yours to use the way you see fit.

When you factor in how long it will take to open and close the account, it's hardly worthwhile. Last time I opened a bank account, it took about 45 minutes in the bank. Add in the 15 minutes it will take them to pay you out when you close the account, thats an hour plus two lots of travel time.

Essentially you are getting ~$33/hr for 1.5 hours of your time. It's not a "bonus" in the true sense of the word, it's more like wages.

    • o.O you're a true ozbargainer to the core!!

    • Just like on-road travel, there are peak and non-peak hours. I've been to many CBD branches in the afternoon, say 3pm, and often will be the 2nd or 3rd in the queue.

    • if this is tax free money, then it is quite a high pay job :D

How do you know if you are the first 10,000 and therefore qualify for this offer?

    • -1

You don't and that's how they've scammed bargainers in the past. CBA are the worst bank for honouring deals.

yep be warn i still haven't got the cricket $50 bonus. has anyone got it yet? i had to complain and request they investigate to get the previous $100 promo as the call centre kept telling me that i wasn't one of the first 10k which i knew was a lie since i opened the account at the same time as my family members and made the 5 transactions before them and they got paid $100 but i didn't. luckily i had proof they were in the wrong.

        • Exhibit A!

Considering what you went through and all the complaints about non-payment of bonuses in every other CBA offer thread I find it laughable someone neg'ed my original comment.

if they're treating new customers with such contempt then there's no hope for long term customers.
