More powerful at half the price of a Karcher? Tempting but what's the catch?

    • +6

I guess the catch is you read the reviews, and determine whether its value for money…

    • what's the catch

It may not last long, and you have to chase Bunnings for a replacement.

    • +1

Like many of these machines 2030psi is max pulse pressure, working pressure is a lot less

      • How much less?

    • Pumps normally made of plastic for super cheap ones, or metal with plastic internals for middle priced ones and full metal or brass for higher end. Alot of the time they are sneaky with warranty and exclude the pump or give it a shorter warranty.

Also key is the L/m figure also

      • I assume full metal pumps last longer than full plastic ones? How come some manufacturer claim their plastic pumps last as long or longer than metal all pumps?

As for the L/min figure, isn't less better so you're saving water per wash?

        • +1

          Marketing and selective testing

  • +3

Ozito return and burn policy is great though.

    • +29

In fact that is exactly why I would never buy ozito again. I purchased a similar unit a few years ago. There was ONE bolt/clip missing for an attachment. I returned to ask how to replace piece or best way to jerry-rig it. They happily accepted it as a return and said it would go straight to landfill.

        Sounds great, sign me up!

      • +2

I suspect they cannot win here? Best customer service, but not good for the environment?

        • +2

They can simply repair the product promptly and offer extended warranty for peace of mind. Good for environment, and good for customer.

          • +1

@nomadspartan: Or for even less effort, returns could have been auctioned off as pallets so someone could sift & extract any residual value.

  • +2

Anyone know what m&j connection you need for the snow cannon?

  • +2

How does this compares to a $99 Ryobi?

    • +31

      $10.01 cheaper.

    • +1

I bought the Ryobi and believe me it is absolute junk! Could not even lift young mildew off concrete, poor spray, pump keeps cycling. But I needed to access a polypipe below 400mm of clay and it struggled but just blew away the clay so the watersucker got it out. If you have mildew get one with a rattle nozzle!

  • isn't this just rrp?

    • +3

Normally $109 according to Price Hipster which makes this a saving of 18%.

  • 7L is absolutely file for washing the car or cleaning yard furniture.

But if you clean decking or such, or strip paint ir mould, 9L is considered the minimum

    • Hmm so not great for pavers? Some of the driveways etc in the reviews come up not too bad

      • Anything will do it, even a garden hose, but there's no way those driveways are single pass.

  • Drat. Just bought a BigBoi Washr. This would’ve been good if I’d seen it a couple of weeks ago

  • Connectors look the same as Gerni ones?

    • +4

Probably are. The current Gerni range in Australia is all exclusive to Bunnings and distributed by Einhell Ozito.

      • Thanks mate

    • anyone know if this is the case?

  • +1

Should i cancel my $130 Bosch Aquatak125 and buy this one

Bosch High Pressure Washer UniversalAquatak 125 (1500 Watt, 125 Bar / 1820 PSI, High Pressure Gun, Lance, 5m Hose, 3-in-1 Nozzle and Detergent Nozzle Included, in Box) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07JVD856N/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt…

    • This is a 7L/min unit, the one you linked to is a 6L/min unit. Both pretty entry level and both are fine for washing the car.

      • +2

Max 7L is not your typical flow rate.

It's the typical flow rate that counts, and for something this size, i'd say you'll be looking at 5-6L typical.

The industry is full of bullshit. You'll find the better pressure washers quoting typical or minimum flow rates.

    • Unless you have noise restrictions, you should get the petrol one linked earlier.

      • Its mainly for washing the cars

But i do have a huge pavement i need to clean

        • You'll never regret going bigger.

Also, ive never regretted going petrol.

    • I loved my Bosch, after 10 years of moderate use managed to sell it for a third!

  • is it legal to wash my car with this in WA?

  • Do you recommend Ozito or this one? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/669564
    Thx

    • +3

      no

  • +4

I have this one. It's better than a hose but not great. While trying to power wash dirt from pathways, it only works if I put it in a focused stream. But like that it takes about 1 hour to clean 1m square.

Still good for cleaning cars and destroying weeds between concrete slabs.

    • I just bought one. Can you adjust the pressure? Hopefully I can because I'm not sure if it's going to damage the paint on my house so I need the pressure not to be too high

      • +1

Stand further back hence less preasure hitting the paint

  • +4

I cleaned 10year old pavers around 4mx3m in under a hour with this ,would definitely recommend for small jobs at this price

  • Anyway to find out the length of the spray arm on this vs Karcher K2? This looks good but don't want to be constantly bending over.

  • +1

Horrible power washer. Pump NEVER stops running and if you do release pressure after 1 minute it will quite literally explode as per the instructions. On top of that, there is nothing you can connect this with.

    • What would you recommend if I want to spend a little bit more?

      • Gerni 5300

        • +3

Thanks mate, I'll look it up.

Edit: Just looked it up. It's 5x more, not "ä little bit more"; hahaha…

  • This or Bosch Aquatak 120

is this good for kids to play with during the hot summer, or too strong?

    • +4

      Way too strong.
With the wrong tip it can strip flesh.

Also, 240v plug near a water source, is managable for adults, but kids "dont care" .

      • +11

Sounds perfect for the kids to play with.

        • +1

Remember: if the teacher asks, just say dad accidentally sprayed you with the Ozito

      • ahhh, ok. let me look in the kids department at Kmart then. thanks for your help

    • +4

This is a pressure washer, mate. Any pressure washer shouldn't be considered something for kids to play with. It can blind and cut fingers. Stick to a garden hose for their playtime.

    • +1

      lol, HELL NO!

    • Nomination for dad of the year award

  • Was waiting for another K2 deal for $119 or less.

Would that be a better buy than this Ozito for $89?

  • +1

Bought one at original price, it's pretty powerful compare to my old Worx, so far after 9 months still running perfectly.
And the 3yrs replacement warranty is a bonus.

  • +1

Is it possible to add a shampoo bottle or snow cannon to this? For car washing.

    • +1

I am also trying to find the same answer. I've got a Bowdens Snow Foam Cannon, had a look through Bowdens website, where they list quite a lot of adaptors for many different pressure washer manufacturers , but sadly no mention of Ozito

      • A Lavor adapter is required
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiONqUFTMFQ

        • While the video recommends the Lavor adapter, I've been in touch with Bowdens Own customer support who suggested using
          BOADAPTER10.
I've sourced this adaptor from Autobarn and i can confirm that it works well with the Bowdens Own Snow foam cannon and Ozito HPW-2030 pressure cleaner.
The Lavor adaptor might fit but it's dimensions are longer. I compared then side by side. The BOADAPTER10 looks the same as the tip of the lance that connects onto the spray gun.
Hope it helps anyone else looking for an adaptor.

    • +1

I also would like to know this. This is cheaper and also has better reviews but Ryobi generally has a 5 year replacement guarantee and usually a new for old swap

Anyone had experience with both of these ?

  • +1

What should I be looking for if I want to clean dirt off terracotta tiles and other textured surfaces? It seems like this isn't a good fit but are there any other recommendations?

    • +2

I used to pressure clean roofs to pay my bills when I was at uni. This would technically work but it'd take so long that by the time you finished it'd need doing again.

If you want to clean your roof tiles hire a real one for a weekend: you want at least 12 lpm (20 is better) and a very long hose. I can't remember what PSI the unit I used had, but I'm guessing 4,000 plus. You will also want a wand that has the ability to relate water pressure. All of these things should be standard on a hired unit.

Having said all that, if you're not familiar with them and not genuinely competent with their usage, you likely want to think about whether it's a good idea to acquire that skill up on a likely-slimy roof soaked in water whilst standing at an awkward angle trying to control a potentially bucking "life of it's own" stream of focused water. I'm not saying not to - I learnt by doing it - but be careful if that's the plan.

If you only have a few to clean and it's on the ground… Well, personally I'd take them to the hire place and give them a 6 pack to clean them for me 😁 but if you're going to buy one, the petrol one is better. Just very noisy apparently.

  • Can I use it to Clean drain blockage? Thank you

    • +1

if you can find the dedicated hose with 3 jets blasting backwards at 45 degrees.

    • +1

      Like this hose;

      https://gerni.com.au/products/accessories/15m-drain-tube-cle…

I used this clean the stormwater drain pipe, was not blocked but need to clean the sediment.

I would not think this is a good idea for sewage though, it will make a mess. (unless it is outdoors).
The water is directed backwards towards the hose.

  • Anyone have experience using high pressure washer to wash driveway and tiny concrete particles get washed up ?

  • -1

This looks like my acquatrak 135 which I got last year that no longer works.

  • bought one of these last time. used it twice and the motor blew up. i think it sucked in some lose plastic moulding from the tank. We did get a full refund but then we had no pressure washer

  • Thanks. Got one from my local store.

  • where can you get a 10M pressure hose?

  • Back up to $109 dollars
