Looks quite similar to the Intel 5i model going for the same price, with the main differences being a better screen + CPU and no thunderbolt ports.

  • Good model, but if budget allows, chuck the 500$ extra for the 5 Pro Model with better screen and the smexy 3070 to futureproof.

    • Will the mobile 3070 come close to 1080ti desktop performance?

  • Any easy way to get around the requirement for a .edu email to take advantage of this? (short of having to find someone who's studying at the moment of course!)

    • if you have any kids or little cousins people in primary school or kinder get one setup for them apparently.

      Saw it in another thread.

I got mine from Melbourne Uni (Alumni).

  • I have a budget of 1500-1700 for a legion..
    Is this doable? Any suggestions?

  • This vs. the Thinkbook 16p Gen 2 for the same price?

    -5800H
    -16GB (upgradeable)
    - 60Hz, 2.5k IPS Matte Screen
    - RTX 3060 (75W)
    -2kg

Want something that had decent gaming performance (not fully gaming laptop) but is portable enough to lug around.

    • +1

I'm not sure the point of having a 3060 with 75w limit. That's not really for gaming I imagine but more for productivity. If you don't need a powerful GPU for productivity then I'd buy the thinnest laptop I can for my budget with decent battery life and screen. Otherwise get a 3060 with at least 90w.

  • I wish they would have a Legion 7 deal….

  • Does the Lenovo education store get any cheaper during Boxing Day sales or anything? Or is it generally the same prices throughout the year

  • How long will the battery last for Word or Excel work (not playing games)?
